LOL! Go to the Academy Awards on the arm of Kirk Cameron, who was made famous for playing Mike Seaver, a character on Growing Pains, in which this show is a spin-off of.
The humor on this show was awesome. It was hook after hook, after hook. It almost reminds me of the earlier Simpsons episodes. The comedic timing was brilliant!
Come to think of it, lots of programs that have since attained cult followings have been prematurely cancelled by ABC over the years. Examples: this show, The Addams Family, F Troop, The Patty Duke Show, Police Squad, Batman, The Green Hornet, The Avengers, My So-Called Life, Once and Again, the original Battlestar Galactica, Vega$, The Bionic Woman, The Brady Bunch, Kung Fu, Room 222, and a host of others too numerous to list.
@kachoo2135 You're right, ABC can go to blazes! I call it "Always Being Cancelled." My friend's father, who grew up in the 1960s, was so upset when the network canceled Batman, to the point that he actually wrote a letter to the suits asking that the show be brought back.
In fact, NBC wanted to pick up the show, but they had to decline when they found out that stupid ABC had ordered the Batcave set bulldozed weeks earlier! Awful, just awful.
@kachoo2135 Actually, its successor show was Going Places, which tanked badly in the ratings. After that came the equally forgettable Baby Talk, Hi Honey I'm Home, and then Camp Wilder. Mary Page Keller had the distinction of headlining two failed shows in two successive seasons (Baby Talk, Camp Wilder).
History fact: In 1966, ABC canceled the still-popular Addams Family and replaced it with The Green Hornet. Unlike the Addamses, the Hornet lasted only one season, but both live on in reruns.
Definitely the best episode of the whole series! Also, doesn't this particular one kinda remind you of that episode of The Brady Bunch where Greg gets a recording contract (Adios, Johnny Bravo)?
I've boycotted ABC ever since they cancelled it! I haven't watched ANYTHING on that channel since 1989.

@80slover322 I've done the same with CBS since they unfairly canceled Joan of Arcadia.

I like the crosses on the walls. Reminds me of when we didn't have to "not offend" everyone

@mikebenardi Well to be fair, the show was set in a Catholic school. Though I do agree with your sentiment.

This was a great show, and that stupid ABC had to go and cancel it. It's successor show, Camp Wilder, definitely stank!
