You have to realize that when these houses catch on fire, they are already pretty much gone and from then, the firefighters job is mainly to put out the current fire to save the surrounding houses. Once the house is on fire, there's really no saving it.

Fantastic job??? At what, saving the foundation and driveway??? Give me a break. Why cant you at least go in the front door and hit the seat of the fire?? Anyone can sit in the yard and shoot water thru the windows. The only adage Johnson County fire departments know is "ladder goes up, house comes down." The house was FAR from saved. Great job Olathe, hit it hard from the yard.

Quints are like ladder trucks except they can move a lot more freely

A quint is simple. Quint means Quintuple. It has 5 functions, It has an Aerial Ladder, Ground Ladder, Pump, Water Tank and Attack Lines. Compared to a "truck" company that has none of that expect for an Aerial Ladder and Ground Ladders.
