@RamonFRT MIDI is just an Interface and it can even sound better than this, but its an old Standard. New Standards, with real recorded Instruments, for Cubase and others, sound like a real Orchestra, but this here are clearly MIDI samples or at least they sound like it.
@ChrisRenucci it's MIDI! I said that in the description. I used the samples from EWQL Silver. Someday I'll remake this song with better samples and a better midi file.
I jus noticed after 14 years from the last time I played dis game.....the very last 10 or 15 seconds of the song is a neat little mix of dat tune after u jump on dat pole wit the flag on top in the original Mario Bros game. Man I miss those golden years
This is good. Very good. To make it sound more real, you'll need to put some reverb in and you'll have to randomize the volumes for each note to make it sound like human fingers... Maybe even mess around with attack, sustain and decay. The piano part is brilliant though.
I don't know why they negativate your comment... I got the midi file in a site with various video game music, but I don't remember wich site is it. I put the VST and edited the MIDI in FL Studio.
What Is This?: a straight shot down Mario Memory Lane... All those "castles with no princesses" travels have paid off, Mario will live on forever... ={
Uggh! The GBA version's animation was waaaaay too slow. Some of the stages suffered too (choppy lava waves, vastly inferior "dizzy" effect, etc). You should have captured from the SNES version.
"Sad?" Seriously? Come on! I can think of some truly "sad" game music but this is the opposite of sad. Just because it ends slowly doesn't make it "sad."
@YoshiStarSpirit Yeah, that's what fiction is kinda suppose to provoque, emotion. If you think about it the boring way: just some notes arranged to form a musical piece, without thinking about all the story and atmosphere of the game/end credits and how the music fits it so well, it doesn't really get to ya, but if you DO consider all of the above and are aware about it, the emotion may appear much more easily. Fiction is sometimes the best version of reality we would like to have.
My all time favorite SNES and GBA game. This game was basically 40% of my childhood.

what a shame its just midi...would love to listen to this with a real orchestra
ChrisRenucci 5 months ago
@ChrisRenucci It's not a midi, it's 100 times more real than midi, that are real recording of the instruments, but the VST is not very realistic.

So I guess Mr Nintendo hated the DIC story of them coming from Brooklyn New York, and wanted this story to sink in better.

The only reason I'm upset with the ending is that yoshi is gone out of the video :( I just leave the room to ignore it

"...probably a kid."
Think about that for a second.
Even if he's a kid, that would make it misplaced nastalgia (not old memories), which is my point exactly.

@CZroe Well it is 8 years old (came out in 2002), but ... yeah.

You could hardly confuse this for a real orchestral, but I actually kinda like the way you got it going here. It still works and sounds fitting.
