Also they were performing @ Navajo Nation Fair. Love them.

  • This song is very touchy.

  • She was 60, born May 25, 1947. now 63.

  • Unlike todays singers Jessi doesn't need a band loud to cover up her singing, beautiful woman and all songs of hers are too.

  • Yes, Jess, I agree, storms never last. Every thing, big or small, is passing and behind even the darkest clouds is a rainbow. I just love this song, so optimistic and bright. Thank you so much for posting

  • Vengeance509 -

Thats right Vengance!!! Let's see some g'damm RESPECT..

  • First of all, "Starboy," when Jessi did this performance, she was 64 years old.

You'd better *pray* you make it to that age, much less look/sound half as good as this woman.

Next: Jessi wrote this song. Her first recording of it on her 1975 Capitol album is *the* definitive rendition. Other people (Dr. Hook, Dottsy, etc.) liked it so much they borrowed it from her.

Finally. This song is classic. Just like the lady who penned it.

'Nuff said. Show some respect. She owns her own song.

  • Well stated, Vengeance509. Thank you for setting the record straight.

  • haha agreed

  • She must have done it in 2011 since she was born in 1947.

  • @Vengeance509 Yep ... you got it right Vengeance509 ...exactly my thoughts!

  • @Vengeance509 well said!!! I concure Shes amazing

  • @Vengeance509 Amen brother.

  • @Vengeance509

You Tell 'em like it is.

Since the early '70s, Anne Murray, Crystal Gayle, Linda Ronstadt, and Jessi Colter (not necessarily in that order) have been my four favorite female vocalists. Anyone who slams Jessi Colter has probably never breathed oxygen... because she is, and always will be, a breath of fresh air.

  • Dr. Hook does an incredible version...but if not for Jessi Colter, the Doc and his band would have never been able to add it to their repertoire! Jessi wrote this song!!! And don't be so quick to judge... she's not Lisa, after all.... ( I don't know where the connection is there, but...it sounded good... :o)

  • i love dr hook too, but jessi wrote this song and if u watch her singing it with waylon live, u will see, the love that makes this song so meaning full. love waylon and jessi. that was true love

  • fantatic lady with unique voice and class...i will always love this artist. I can listen for hours...

  • She was the true beauty of the couple.

  • Jessi rocks.

  • I bet she feels his arm around her towards the end of that song...while he plays the guitar with just one hand!

How hard it must be to sing that song without him!.

  • WoW

  • I just loved what she had to say about Waylon...I just don't know she can be so strong and say words like that without getting all emotional...I myself couldn't have done it....Both me and my better half sing and I don't know what I would do without him.

  • great song...

  • "I know you all miss Waylon, but he ain't far away"

  • Lovely Jessi is so good on the song she wrote.

My favorite. As a fellow musician and lover of country music I hopes she always keeps this kind of music in her soul.

  • Thank you for this.

  • How heartbreaking to see her sing this without waylon. It almost made me cry. What a neat lady!

  • I agree... They were SO in love!
