Soooo many memories........ I never could master that Jump thing where you'd make impossible jumps by continually jumping. I thought it was a cheat! I do remember a little before I stopped playing it, that it had turned into a Sniper Rifle fest as people had got so good at one-shot kills on the move with those things. Damn frustrating! :)

action quake is twitch death-match skills. counter-strike is tactical team skills. apples and oranges really.  both of them however own the shit out of cod/mw2 bullshit.

CoD4 imo is the next good game after the whole quake, cs, unreal tournament (the first) era

I think this was one of the first if not the first game which had different hitboxes for different bodyparts. And the first game where you could kill enemy with 1 shot if you hit him in the head. Oh boy how much fun we had 10 years back with my cousin and friends having lan parties playing this game and also Diablo 2 :D

Played a lot of AQ2 back in the day. Breaking legs and bleeding were very innovative. Favorite weapon was the throwing knife, and too this day am very disappointed if i play a fps online and don't have one. :P

Probably played this game more than any other game in my 15 years of gaming. It looks sooooo bad now(graphic wise)Definitely aged badly. But after playing this game for so many years and going to other fps like COD games you become amazing cos nothing compares in difficultly to AQ2.

NO its not like a counterstrike built on the quake2 engine. counterstrike is a action quake built on the halflife engine. but not even close to the style. action quake was amazing in its hayday and still the best fps to date

yes but action quake is far faster paced with high movement speeds, no weapon recoil, and some equipment to choose such as body armor. also, perfectly accurate sniper rifle while running in 2x zoom.
