Hey Brian, I am having trouble finding the best place to buy racks. So far I've got down to freedom breeder and ARS caging; But This JB cutting place sounds pretty easy. Are they cheap? Also, what Is their website? I really only need to buy breeder size racks, so if they can do those sizes as well (which I am sure they do) that would be fantastic!

Well it's kinda hard too build this with the average joes tools it can get very expensive very fast and if your not sure you can waste money on supplies and screwing up wood the list of things you need and what can go wrong can cost thousands on a small to medium rack

If you have any idea how to build things this rack is not only simple to build but highly efficient as they leave room in the back for airflow which reduces over heating etc. The rack is regular melamine add shelves if you have a table router (or go rent one) making the slots in the shelves is extremely easy even for someone who doesnt know alot about woodworking. Cost is around 200 as well...not thousands...

I'm really into all different types of snakes, but I feel limited to only owning a few.

I've only used terrarium tanks for my reptiles, and now want to switch to something more efficient for keeping snakes and saving space in my dad's house lol.

I've never built a rack system. I'm sure its easy but my question is, if you can't use heat tape because of house insurance purposes, what can you use and how do you install it?

I'm no herpetologist, but what about lighting? for heat or UVB? I've heard alot of ppl say they get plenty of calcium and vitamin D from their diet, but UVB can help them metabolize those nutrients better. I suppose light comes in from the clear sides... Please clarify as I am concerned that a proper night/day cycle would be screwed up if you guys were working odd hours... Obviously you have alot of healthy snakes, so there is some details that I would like to know.

Wicked Stuff Brian, I make all my own Snake racking, i use 9ltr rubs for my hatchlings, 33ltr for my males and 0ltr rubs for my adult females, do you heat those racks at all? or keep them at room temp? i run heatmats down the back on all of my racks, costs me a fortune, but i shall be switching to heat cable soon as i get a router, what thickness contiboard/melamine are you using? looks to be about 18mm+? i use 15mm for mine, and they weight a tonne as it is! keep up the good work! I'd have to say that my favorite show would be almost anything on the Science Channel or Animal Planet. But I really enjoy watching "How it's Made" not only because it is interesting and shows you how things are made, but it also helps us appreciate the few things that actually require some good ol' fashioned pride and hard work to have it become what it is, Instead of it all being built by machines or even built by people living in sweat shops over seas.

Don't get me wrong or anything, I liked the Croc Hunter, but Jeff is able to throw in some funny bits AND be serious about the show at the same time.
