Did you know the ps3 graphics card is equivalent to a nvidia geforce 7000 series? It runs games good because windows is slowing down pc's. Xbox 360 is like Ati radeon 3200, Ps2 is nvidia geforce 3. Xbox 1 is nvidia geforce 4
@MrCole56 No the problem with PC gaming isn't Windows. The problem is the DRM shit the developers add that needs to run in the background, bad coding due to many games ported from a console to PC, and lots of people purchase a high end GPU without thinking about how important the CPU is and they complain.
@Ruflcopta Haha true that and games on consoles are optimized to all buggery so that you see model swapping and textures shimmering a lot. PC games tend to come with less removals of detail and less optimizations.
It's like comparing Crysis to Dead Island, one is highly optimized to run on most hardware and the other lacks many optimizations in favour of quality.
I can't believe people blame the operating system for slowing a system down though :O

@pastoranos it might not have the best story in the world :3 but it still makes me go back and wreck havok in panau so...i dont see why youd call it a shit game...but hey its your opinion and i respect it :3
Looks nice :) Although personally i think CUDA isn't going to see much use from now on with directcompute 5.0. It may be more difficult to use, but direct computer targets pretty much all of the PC gamer market (most people have a dx11 card now).
@RAEHL1983 I'm at least sure! no worries all models whit the second number being 8 is pretty kickass.. don't ever buy a card which has the second number starting whit 1-4... it's a crap : /
I played this game on a Radeon 4850 so it was a mix of high and medium settings without any of these fancy effects. I have a Gtx 560 coming today so I guess I'll be seeing how much of an improvement the Nvidia effects give the game.
I'm actually surprised- My system sucks (9800GTX+ 1gig vRam, x2 AMD Athlon II 215 clocked at 2.7ghz -no overclock) and I have mostly no problems playing this. I get some slowdown here an there- but the game works well on my inferior setup.
@unintelligentgenius and i cant get 20 fps on my high end system! with intel i7 and 6 gig ram, ati 5450 1 gig and i gets 15 fps on the lowerst settings
@LL1K 5450?? that is not a good card, not at all.. try lowering your resolution to 1024x768 MAX! this game requires a much MUCH better video card than that.. try something like a 4850 or 5830.. when you are down in the 5450 (4450, 3450 etc.) your card is down to what, 64-bit? That is immensely killing your frames..
@MNation69 yeah i finally found that out a couple of weeks ago when i installed starcraft 2 and it could barely handle it, im gonna upgrade to a better card soon though.
@unintelligentgenius this games is a gpu bitch, at lower resolutions i can handle it at max with 50 fps, now when i get to high resolutions i must go all way to minimum.
@imalwayswatchingu00 ATI has HAVOK which is used in a huge amount of games...no significant performance boosts over nvidia with that one. As for CUDA Technology. No game has used this architecture yet. I dont know why the poster put that in the title but w/e. I like nvidia for all the little things they do.
@imalwayswatchingu00 I don't see why, PhysX so far has been just a marketing scam, flying leaves/papers and more rocks ? Seriously ? It's no wonder that aside from some small companies everyone is using Havok. And CUDA ? For this ? Are you kidding me ?
PhysX and CUDA will never work, no dev in their right mind would limit their game for half of their customers, unless nvidia is paying him big bucks, and thats why only small companies use them.
The added physx effects halves the performance of the game and any physx game I might add. If you want decent performance you need a GTX260 or a GTX460. Any less, then you have to forfeit some image quality.
Its quite simple, games will always be most attractive on pc, because the resolution is higher, there's more RAM, and the technology used in consoles is always tried and tested in the pc industry first, and the advantages of the ps3's cell processor have yet to be used by any game.
Guys, I need to know if my opinion is felt by anyone aside from myself. Upon the first time I played Just Cause 2 after I installed a new set of SLI Nvidia 480s that I bought in tandem, my jaw literally unhinged upon the first time that I saw the tropical/beach areas of the game/map. lol Now the jaw unhinging is because I have really bad TMJ, so Im not expectimng anyone to equal that portion of the statement, but the being in absolute AWE part is what I am asking for others opinions about. lol
@Xenosoo Nope I bought it just to test out hardware. The game is just a gimmick really, the fun wares off after a while and the story is just laughable which might just be down to the horrible voice acting ;)
@R3n7on ok, so again. what does CUDA (and PhysX do)? i didnt see much difference so thats why im asking. and im ognna get a GTX560Ti, probably not the best, but best bang for the buck, as people always say... u mentioned cuda requires at least a high end card OR SLI config... a GTX560Ti should be enough, right? an MSI N560GTX Twin Frozr II OC 1GB GDDR5 vga. this is just the future, i dont have the card yet, but it should be enough, right?
@gabrocki I have that card and I can play this game maxed with 8x aa. Havent had a game yet get my fps below 30. fuck I get 60+ in crysis maxed sometimes
@gabrocki CUDA is nvidia's computing architecture. So this is like having your gpu directly render the water. And yes the 560ti hawk is what I have and it shreds ass... in a good way
@IamTrimbler yes you said you have that card too in your last comment. quote: "I have that card"
:D gonna have the twin frozr II/OC though, not the hawk. its way too expensive for me, for that price i could get a sapphire HD6950 2GB which is better for 1080p, and it has dual fans too. well not a twin frozr but enough for me
@iwhitecastle That is not true mine HD 5770 is 170€ and is far better them the xbox360\ps3 at game graphics, i don't have this game but for example i can play Crysis with all in high at 1680x1050 and never fall bellow 30 fps.
@Argoon1981 im just saying these fools think consoles graphics are better than pc. when or gpu cost more than their xbox and ps3. i have a gtx 480. just bought it about a week ago $523 thats with tax. it feels like a 360 cause it over heats lmfao. 51' - 61' c
@bmxracer254 pc or 360? or pc or ps3, cause the graphic card of the ps3 is better than the 360, but 360 has more ram than ps3, and ps3 have better cell processor than 360, but he response you
lol, that is the dumbest question I've seen in a while. Some horrible console ports may have equal graphics on the pc and 360, but none will have lesser graphics on the pc.
How would a NVIDIA 8600GT work with JC2? BC2 ran like shit, PS3 is fantastic, but a good pc is always better...360 just doesnt even fit in the equation lol forget that. Thanks for info!
Cool game the bit at 0:01 is a really cool bit I got this game online for free here 115 games. com There are all the latest PS3 games to pick from but the best thing is they are all free too brilliant game
JC 2 gameplay beats any game on the market place right now! Their particular physics basically makes the game far better when compared with almost any other. From blowing things up, to skydyving, its simply magnificent. If you want to have a shot at it for totally free, navigate to JC2DownloadXcom (replace X with . ).
I have a doubt, I´m to change my 8600GT for a GTX 480, should I install Seven 32 bits or 64 bits?, because I have 4GB RAM and I´m not sure of what to do...
Go 64-Bit, then you have the choice to upgrade your RAM memory in the furture plus you will get the whole 4 GB instead of 3 - 3.5GB instead and see a slight performance improvment in certain programs that take advantage of the 64-bit OS, 32-bit Programs work fine as well.
R3n7on: I have following configuration: 8800GT for graphics display and GT240 as dedicated PhysX card. Is there any possibility how to set GT240 for computing CUDA effects in Just Cause 2? I tried to use /dxadapter parameter but it doesn't work. Does this game support it? Thanks for answer.
How do I turn on the CUDA effects, I check the box but nothing changes. Also, I tried to download the CUDA drivers from Nvidia but it still doesn't work.
I have a gtx 295... and I can't enable boekek filter becasue its not in the options menu! But with everything else but aa maxed (that's at 2x) i get only around 25-60fps usually around 30-40 with 6gb ram and an i7 920:(
may i ask how did you get the game to render on ATI card?
i have 5870 and gtx260, gotten PhysX Mod 1.02 to work in FluidMark and NFS Shift. but can't figure out how to get this game to work because it's not use PhysX, it uses CUDA that requires the game to be rendering on the CUDA card.
buen video yo no entendia q coños eran esas 2 opciones graficas,,las activava y decia: que putas??? cual es la diferencia?? bajarme los fps? jijijiji ahora se que es asi q los desactivare puta agua marica XD
@wouterr20 Yes, you can have a primary ATi video card an a secondary Nvidia card (a cheap card) for CUDA.
I have an ATi 5970 as primary and a 9600gt (costs $60) dedicated for CUDA and Physx.
So if you have an good ATi card you can get a second card, cheap nvidia like an 9600gt or an 8600gt for about $50 to $60 and have these Cuda effects together the the ATi's power ;)
Why Won't the Just Cause 2 demo from steam work on my computer. all other demo's work on my computer from steam and i have windows vista........why won't it work, i keep getting a error message after i download it and try to launch it? WTF please help!

thats it? wow, crysis looks just as good, if not BETTER and for one, who plays a game to stare at water?
ThePsychoGamer1337 1 year ago
@ThePsychoGamer1337
that's a really weak statement to make. Sure crysis looks better, but who wouldnt want better graphics? cuda water brings that to the table.

JC 2 gameplay beats any game on the market place right now! Their particular physics basically makes the game far better when compared with almost any other. From blowing things up, to skydyving, its simply magnificent. If you want to have a shot at it for totally free, navigate to JC2DownloadXcom (replace X with . ).

I have a doubt, I´m to change my 8600GT for a GTX 480, should I install Seven 32 bits or 64 bits?, because I have 4GB RAM and I´m not sure of what to do...
ferna2294 1 year ago
@ferna2294

Bokeh!
maz12004 1 year ago
Not that much of a difference, I thought there would be something more than water effects.
nVidia should pay the developers more next time.
Glaruf 1 year ago
@Glaruf true that they have the money but not the desire i guess they soud pay software and games companys to implement cuda in more producsts

do you think just cause would work on a Nvidia 7500 le ?
CradleToCoffin 1 year ago
@CradleToCoffin
Nope, the 7000 series has just DX9, you need a DX10 card and Windows Vista/7
You can get a card for $98 that is plenty powerful and good, but if you're still using XP you're in trouble.
Usul573 1 year ago
But what video card you have? case for the GTX 275? because I have this effect active qundo and water should not be fluid

may i ask how did you get the game to render on ATI card?
i have 5870 and gtx260, gotten PhysX Mod 1.02 to work in FluidMark and NFS Shift. but can't figure out how to get this game to work because it's not use PhysX, it uses CUDA that requires the game to be rendering on the CUDA card.
wuyanxu 1 year ago
I would like to know this too R3n7on how are you using a ati gpu as primary and nvidia for cuda?
bucktown212 1 year ago

@R3n7on yes it does..im running this on my ATI HD 5650..... and it runs well on all high settings with out any lag
aceOFspades7121 1 year ago
@wouterr20 Yes, you can have a primary ATi video card an a secondary Nvidia card (a cheap card) for CUDA.
I have an ATi 5970 as primary and a 9600gt (costs $60) dedicated for CUDA and Physx.
So if you have an good ATi card you can get a second card, cheap nvidia like an 9600gt or an 8600gt for about $50 to $60 and have these Cuda effects together the the ATi's power ;)
