@MantasiaHater I totally agree, the eternal costume is just too much :(. I liked her last costume before this one hehe :). I just can't stand those wings on her back, maybe they wouldn't have been too bad if they were smaller or something but they definitely wasn't the finishing touch, lol :). But I'm happy to see that Serean is still her funny silly self in this season *giggles* ^_^.

@DaisSister13 Agreed. The yellow and red skirt looks terrible, the red and pink poofy shoulders look bad and clash with the skirt. The brooch looks dumb (complete with mini-wings), she's missing the tiara now too.

And the 20 pound cherry to top off this sundae of ugliness are those huge white marshmallow wings.

All I can say is... at least the writers realized it too, and made fun of her outfit a couple of times, so at least there was some entertainment value from it.

The main reasons why Sailor Stars was not dubbed in English was because.1- supposidly Sailor Stars is not part of the original series, it is only a spin off. It would have been too expensive to be English dubbed. 2- The English dubbers (DiC) and the American Tv something say tht the concept of the starlights going through sex change was complete rubbish. I thnk thts stupid!!! They dont go through sex change 4 stupid reasons. there's story behind it. I C NO GOOD REZNS WHY NOT DO DUB IT in English

@machogrubba14 but...even creator takeuchi naoko didn't think of something like sex change,that idea was give for toei and even toei originally no planned it,is because one of the stalights in the manga love usagi and they were always female in manga,so toei didn't want something like same sex love involving the main character,they though of changing their sex to make them male at least some time,it was planned,it was the solution they think,in other circunstances,maybe that wouldn't happen

Im not against it I just wonded why she thought adding lesbian characters would make Sailormoon more entertaining? U dont see that a lot in cartoons in USA. @machogrubba14 I think that labeling it homosexuality isn't the point. I don't think that this was something that the creator intended to be entertaining. At any rate you actually do see it in cartoons in the USA, it's just never put out there the way you see it, such as peppermint patty from the peanuts gallery or bugs bunny always dressing as a woman, there was snagglepuss, vanity smurf, smithers, tweety bird, velma(scooby doo), and robin(batman &robin)

@machogrubba14 A lot of people believe that Robin(boy wonder) was actually gay and that throughout the batman comics there are many ambiguous actions hinting to this. I myself don't necessarily believe it but if you wikipedia Batman and scroll all the way down you will see a panel from Batman #84 (June 1954), page 24, this depicts Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson waking up in the same bed together, as you read the dialog it is easy to see where it could be considered sexually suggestive

@machogrubba14 . Velma is widely rumored to be gay or at least generally accepted to be ambiguous or asexual. sorry this is so long but my point is that in the USA it's something that is hinted at but never outwardly spoken about. The only difference with anime is that it's to the point.

@proudlatina1985 Actually, Velma was meant to be seen as Shaggy's girlfriend. The thing is that with them, nothing on-screen hinted to anything, as it did with Daphne and Freddie. Don't remember where I read that, but I'm pretty damn sure that's what the creators had in mind with the character of Velma.

@machogrubba14 Yeah I also wonder why Naoko did it to that extent. Including an occasional character like Haruka or Fisheye is fine, but after a while it turned into a cross-dressing gender-guessing extravaganza. She really took it to unnecessary lengths in my opinion.

(and then the anime writers made it even worse by having the Starlights become male, instead of simply dressing as men)

She seemed to create the Starlights just for weirdness' sake, there's no storyline reason for it

If you read the manga, the Starlights are still Sailor Senshi, but they take on the form of male pop stars to attract a lot of the female crowd to try and find their Princess....and also to hide from Galaxia.
