Gets better as modern TV gets worse. The sheer quality always astounds me as I watch another old episode again & discover another brilliant line of dialogue or a character I hadn't paid attention to before. Quality.
I've only watched 1 episode recently and now I'm addicted to this shit, need help!!! I also don't miss the epesodes of CI5 profesionals, what the f••• s wrong with me!!! I love A-team but they don't play it on tv any more :(
@FrumBeermingum It wasn't really my era, but through my parents i've grown up on Minder and still watch the repeats when ever i can on ITV 4, in fact yesterday morning when i couldn't sleep and had things on my mind, the episode from series 1 Bury My Half At Waltham Green came on and really took my mind off things.
@ianupton astro wars?????....You have taken my mind back to the early 80's truly...it was the only tec game i was ever into...as well as pacman!!!!!!!!!!!
ist time ive heard that song in over twenty yeas!! i never forgot it though, was hearing it in my head all these years! lol! thanks for the post- sabbat34
this is classic vintage british tv at its best. you will never see this again, only in the golden archives, in the british halls of fame , watermans a legend.
@cujo9 250% agree....my old headmaster just died and when i thought of him i remember the early 80's alot....and staying up week nights to watch this when i should have been in bed...
Man, he sounds just like Ringo Starr, perhaps even a little bit better as he really hits that high note at the end.
Takes me right back to when I was a kid in New Zealand and this plus The Professionals were my favourite two programmes. Nothing but the best of British back in those days on kiwitv. My parents laughed themselves horse over the Two Ronnies leaning back on a fence going "Ooh Ah" but us young ones thought the brown leather jackets were so much cooler.
Not sure where you were whilst listening to Ringo cos man it sounds nothing like him, Waterman sings this with a typical West London accent and Ringo still sounds Scouse.
Yeah, now I see what you mean. It must have been the way Waterman sings the words "wrong occassion" that reminded me of the Beatle who felt the least self-conscious in front of a camera.
I'll be so good for you. Yes. What a true classic and a team that will never be repeated. From Terry to The Winchester Club and that crap Ford Capri that Tezzer was given. Greeeeeaaaaat.
has anyone else heard a kinda rap version of this tune with the sample of this playing in thye background? If anyone knows the name of the artist who does this rap version, can they let me know ? thanks
You always knew it was kicking out time at the clubs when the lights went up and this song came on.....time to head for the kebab shop and taxi rank ladies!
You mgiht to be happy to know I have just purchased the entire series two. what a cracker of a show. Jeez ol' Tel has put on some weight though for New Tricks. which is also very good. and I dont care what Little Britain say. I like that theme song as well. Cheers Robbie.
Every time I hear this song, I'm going to think about James May from Top Gear and his Ford Capri 2.8.

Great piano part and the occasional pull on the bass compliments it. A great tune.
