I've watched the whole series 3 times from Italy!!! And now I'm listening to Harvey Danger, and I'm not talking about Pink Floyd or something that international.
So if now I am a new listener all the credits goes to BBC and Youtube, so dear lawyers you do the math....S ;)
i have been following the lip dub video from the very beginning, and i remember that collegehumor/vimeo was making copyright claims when the video was eventually posted to youtube! the shit went full circle, lawl
This doesn't give the full story. Vimeo didn't just share the video, they made it. The people in the video weren't 'ordinary people' they were actors and writers. Making videos is their job. So, EMI had every right to sue, as another business was using their product. However, the lawsuit was stupid. They should have just let it go
All EMI, like every other record label seems to be, is a creativity parasite. They produce sweet fuck all, but take all the money. The sooner these bloated shitbag corporations die off, the better off music will be.
@theledzep123 They weren't 'actors and writers' at all, they're the Vimeo staff, and their job isn't to make videos, it's to run a website that hosts videos that other people make. So I'd say that they do count as ordinary people. Also, EMI's lawsuit was about all of various lip dubs on the site...they just used the flagpole sitta vid as an example.
RIGHT! not only that the people who did it were people from college humor! the funnest people on the planet. i hate companies who do that crap for no reason. imandywilliams thax for posting this
This has been flagged as spam show
This is bullshit ☺ They should have said:
"THANK YOU PEEP SHOW" & "THANK YOU VIMEO/YOUTUBE"
