I just bought this machine used, I have followed all the instructuions, but cannot get it to make the first pass. The needles keep getting stuck on the magnets.
Sounds the machine and the carriage need cleaning and lubricating. Sometimes it sticks because the cast on comb is not properly placed. You may also need to lubricate the sharp edges of your carriage (flip is over). Also consider what type of yarn you are using. Also I have discovered that some yarns need to experience waxing to help is properly feed through the tension mast. On My Studio 560, I have a wax piece that is placed on the tension mast to aid in waxing yarn as it passes thru
I haven't used mine in a long time. Can't remember why the needles are sticking to the magnets. Help out there? I would greatly appreciate hearing from you.
look on here for e-wrap cast on or crochet cast on as it gives a much neater edge. Use crochet or bind off for cast off - works great.
Had problems with my needles looking rusty... but it was glue from the sponge underneath disintergrating..(doesn't last forever). sticks to everything. contact me for more advice!
This was my first machine in 89! The problems u have with jamming and pulling the yarn taught are due to the sponge brake underneath the needles. I've just got a Zippy90/LK100 off Ebay..removed all the needles, scooped out the goo from under neath. then used really cheap foam or other draft proofing for doors. laid one strip in the channel, second strip on top and then some satin ribon onto the sticky part. Then put in the needles again. Works like new. Also oil the machine and carriage!
Hi there, I am having serious trouble with my knitting machine. Can you please take a moment to watch the video of my woes that I have posted and give a comment if you can see anything blindingly obvious I am doing wrong?
Thank-you so much!!! I recently dug out of my mum's attic a singer 329 machine..... looks a lot older than yours!! This video has been so helpful as my instruction manual was a little worn and the instruction and diagrams very unclear to me!!
Thanks for posting this...It's good to see other men who knit in the world...It's a dieing art for us, and we need to stick together...I have recently joined two websites you should also look into, one is ravelry...the other one is menwhoknit. They are both great websites...
If Anyone can help, they're going to get into the sainthood. What is the purpose of the needles on the machine? Can you work one like just the ironing board without the sewing machine( which unthreads itself Immediately if it doesn't Jam- ) What is the purpose of the ironing board needles? Does the new row go in front of the other or vice versa? Can you work it better without the ham grinder thingy and the weights? Please help me, I'm so frustrated !
I got my machine and I love it so much and I just bought another bed and extend the machine longer for bigger knitted piece. Thanks for the videos again :) Have fun!
I have an LK150 (which is the same as yours, just with 150 needles and a little bit different tension setup). I love it. Thanks for sharing your experience - it's greatly appreciated.
