  • This song is very similar to Joe Carson's "show me now".. I ask you to verify this and tell me what you think.. :)

  • Geroge Jones original song title is "Forgive me now".. also very similar to Joe Carson "show me now"..

  • i have vcr tapes the collwction .if anyone like to buy them

  • That was wonderful, thank you!

Ya'll have any idea where I might find the guitar chords for this song?

Thanks again! We enjoyed it very much!

  • I think I read somewhere that Faron's earliest influence was Carl Smith. You can see that in the type of songs he was writing and recording like Goin Steady and I can't wait.

  • this is true country music!!!!!!!!!

  • Just found out Faron.Been listening to him all week. Then found out today is his birthday. Great sound and style. Not suprised he is a February baby. Happy Birthday Faron Young.

  • There's an awesome new book out about Faron's life, called The Faron Young Story Live Fast Love Hard. You can get it on ebay.

  • It's a shame he committed suicide many years ago, because of many personal problems. He was one of my favorites.

I had an LP of him doing a memorial of Jim Reeves songs. When I moved, I lost it.

  • I believe "Faron Young Sings The Best Of Jim Reeves" is available on Amazon. It is a great record. I still have the one I bought 'way back when'.

  • Faron fresh out of the

air Force. At that time he didn't know how to mess up a song. I loved his early songs.

  • Good singer never heard of him tell my girlfriends grandpa told me about him. They served in korea together he has letters they wrote after the war. How cool.

  • Faron is great but Jim Reeves is my favorite. Faron's got a nice voice though.

  • I agree, but don't forget Ray Price. He had good songs, but his voice was not as good as Faron's or Jim's. I can't believe someone posted my favorite Jim Reeves song I never thought I'd hear again, "Then I'll stop loving you."

  • In my opinion I'll say that Faron Young is probably the best male country singer of all time as well as the most handsome. This is my *opinion* so please no angry responses!

  • I totally agree with you, farmgent, on both counts. No 'probably' about it.

  • I agree too.

  • OH ME TOO!! I'll readily jump this bandwagon!! Hahah his looks drive me wild...oh he knows how to sell his point, don't he? ;) what a doll

  • Faron is the first of two greats, the second is Hank Williams!

  • @reddirtgirl55

I agree although I think Faron looked up to Hank. You can tell from Faron's early songs he has that Hank Williams influence in his voice. He kind of mellows it out as he goes along to that wonderful voice of his own. But to me early Faron sounds allot like Hank. They both are in my opinion the best singers country music has had.

  • @LillithCarmichael beyond a shadow of a doubt the KINGS of country!! Deb

  • Faron Rules. Loved Yellow Bandana

  • I often see postings comparing Farron Young with Hank Sr. I don't see it. They are both great and have their own sound and style, they were friends though.

  • It sounds like he's channeling Hank Williams.

  • Lots of singers mimic Hank Sr when first starting out. Faron fine tuned his voice, to his own style. There are different versions of some of his songs.

  • Yep. Him or Lefty. Ray Price seemed to float back & forth between them. Not to mention that many also added George Morgan's crooning style to their sound.

  • Faron Young is a good looking man, did he have a family or children or something?

  • sabrooow, he was married to Hilda Macon in 1954 and divorced in 1986. They had 4 children, 3 boys and 1 girl.

  • So he must have not been a lonely man. Do you know if any of his children performs?

  • As far as I know his son Robyn is the only one who performs, although he also has a 'day job'. His oldest son passed away about a year and a half ago. I don't know what the other 2 do.

  • Faron had a daughter called Alana. She is writing a book on her father

  • bring honky tonk back man !!!!

  • Faron young rules just like the rest of the clasic country singers.

  • Another Faron Young song I'd love to see posted is "Gonna Live Some Before I Die." I'm not sure if he performed that on the Grand 'Ol Opry or not.

  • That suit rocks!!!

  • Song was written by George Jones!

  • we need WINE ME UP, and does anyone have the BC powder commercial he did around 1970. faron is a legend and i miss him, but his music lives on

  • hey alrooi123 go to rhap0sody they have wine me up, justed checked it out,no video and i think he was singing live somewhere

  • yea that was a great song

  • Someone had posted 'Wine Me Up', then it disappeared. Anyone know why, or how we can get it back? Thanks.

  • THIS is when Country was great!

  • Amen rmjazz56, you said a lot with very few words!

  • love this song...drank much whisky to ol Faron

  • Faron is still the best after all these years. There has never been another artist who comes anywhere close to him. He stands head and shoulders above everyone else.
