You can use different weapons as u progress. In vol 1 u can get the 2nd form that allows u to use Broadswords, then in Vol 2 u can get the 3rd form (Terror of Death) To use Scythes, and in Vol 3. I won't spoil it all if u don't know already, but u can use dual blades steam guns.

What are you talking about...? They have to program the characters into the game since you see them during the game...but only ones like Matsu and Antares were ever fought with or against...like in the arena. The other ones crash cause they aren't used in battles but the characters are still there.

I don't know much about programming games...but I'm guessing they have his character model in the game cause he's there and there's some kinda programmed motion for each skill and each battle technique for each class of fighter and they just apply it to the individual character models during battle...that's just my guess though.

It's probably because he's such an important character that they put extra time into coding him at first but since he never fights in Vol 1, they waited with finishing him.

@Akunaeru More along the lines of, he was going to have a role in the party in the early stages, but possibly scraped the idea, but didn't erase the fighting codes. Also explains why he doesnt have any hit detection boxes.
