  • that damn industry, freaking cocaine snatched away most of the greats. Phyllis was bipolar and Donny Hathaway was schizophrenic. Did TV One they ever do anything on Nancy Wilson if cocaine had her too I'm done with the industry.

  • I'm 17 and a music artist and i love this lady she's a role model. For this lady to be as beautiful, blessed, and talent as she was. I dont see how she would want to harm herself and commit suicide. I mean she had a hella voice and sooooo beautiful. Oooohhh why Ms.Hyman?? :( I dont think there could ever be another person that talented and gifted as her..

  • WOW, WOW A HELLA WHSITLE,AND DID YOU HEAR BILLY PRESTON FOLLOW HER UP ON THE ORGAN,I WONDER WHO ELSE WAS ON THAT TRACK???

  • She was incredibly beautiful. The first thing I notice on every pic of Phyllis is her beautiful eyes. So gifted and so lonely. May she rest in perfect peace.

    ~~LS~~

  • I love her whistling @ 2:11

  • She was my friend. She was very kind to me. A very sweet soul.

  • My sister died 3 weeks prior at the age of 39. since it was expected, I dealt with it quite well. But then Phyllis died and I completely lost it, I loved and admired her so much, It was just too much. My tears poured like ababy, I will always love Phyllis Hyman. I took it for granted that she would always be around. I've since learned to never waste time, because tomorrow is not assured

  • WOW!! She could really sang!!!

  • @charmalique phyllis was a cancer.

  • Phyllis Hyman was my favorite singer. It broke my heart when Phyllis died. I never cried so hard when any entertainer died.

  • I think tht's Patti LaBelle at 7:44. The two of them were very close friends so I wouldnt be surprised.

  • @pattifan That wasn't Patti

  • @MsChanteJ72 Looked alot like her..she used to wear her hair just like that back in the early 80's and that's when her and Phyllis first met..in 1980. I'm almost positive that's Patti lol!

  • Love her style, and the way she dressed! I have heard negative things about her as well, but she seemed really down to earth, personable, with a sense of humor.

  • I hate that she felt over whelmed and gave up! I miss phyllis. So many people can relate to her and and her music! A talented woman with a powerful voice and message.

  • I remember he dying very close to her birthday and seeing one of those pretty photos of her with her designer hat on....never forgot the image in the paper. Still can't forget it. My mum's birthday was 7/7 and Phyllis was one of her favorites because she said she knew how to sing with feeling.

  • July 6th today is her birthday!!!

  • truly missed ,was and always a fan !

  • whistling! im feeling that spin lol

  • Wow glad someone tried to help. She was wonderful but missed understood by the industry.

  • @MizzPyge she wasnt mis-understood in my opinion just not SEEN because the "industry" in itself is just not real anymore, if it ever was....she was beautifuland bold and real but very sad which we as humas can all struggle with...she did still impact us all as we would desire.

  • @Piscespq chile that hat is fierce

  • This lady was very talented
