You are partially right, I would say creativity cannot be reinforced on the harmonic structure, but rather on melodic color. Even a little bit is good enough. A harmonic structure (chord progression) cannot be easily changed. It has to fit in those theories. Otherwise, it would be called a great REVOLUTION. American pop has definitely more harmonic variations at this moment. However, Pachelbel is a God father after all. Thanks for comment.

K歌之王, 相愛無夢,壞人,好心分手, 自欺欺人,好好戀愛,單車等(有D唔係D major), 跟本聽一兩次已經識彈,就好似下面位人兄話, 70%canto pop都係呢個chord progression, 你識彈CANON IN D, 已經彈到好多首歌既大半. 呢段片好過穩, 我先前都玩過咁既野. D CHORD真係悶, J-pop果D玩得好正, 首endless story特別鍾意.

i know that !!!!!!!!!! the pattern call "ground bass" many many pop songs use this harmony.,... abt 70% of them...in hk =( very boring...

所以說，我會覺得有些新歌如果用到的harmony太過相近
除非旋律特別鮮明，或者是一些外在因素 (如：演繹)，否則難以給人一個深刻的印象，有時候我還會覺得很多新歌的分別都不大
