God! I hate David Tennant! I HATE his guts!!! But, on a good natured note, I too had a chilhood crush on Elisabeth, & when I told her that fact, she melted like butter. I, a complete nobody! Of course I don't hate David. He's a decent chap, & a fellow WHOvian!
She was literally the only famous person I cried over when I learned she had passed away. Such an amazingly talented lady, a lovely person...she will be missed so much.
Hard to believe that Lis left us more than 4 months ago. Life goes on and we each have our cares and concerns. But times like this when I sit down and realize again that Lis is gone, sadness and loss wash over me.
She stood out in so many ways it is hard to pinpoint just a single reason why she was so special. I'm collecting all of her Classic DW shows on DVD, because her era in DW was SO refreshing and different.
The Golden Era peak of Classic DW is LIS SLADEN, with Pertwee & Baker.
I normally don't care about celebrity deaths, its life it happens and we have to accept that. I remember myself crying after a man, a national singer that you've never heard, and he was, like Lis beautiful and pure in every way. Its not about being famous with Lis, I think, she love
d the job, she loved the children and to see her do the things she loved is all we can ask for.
Well ,perhaps a Doctor Who tribute would be nice Mr. Moffat but you dont seem to mind in any way so...
this was the only celebrity death that ever had an impact on me... elisabeth sladen was such an icon for all of us, i may not have grown up with her as the companion, but she was still always... well, sarah jane. even when i hadn't seen her before school reunion. first off, i knew that she was THE companion of her era. and also, just as soon as i saw her, i thought, "this woman is important." doctor who and sarah jane adventures will never be the same without her, and neither will we. RIP Lis <3
Thank you for posting this. I found it on the BBC's site but it wouldn't play for me (probably because I'm in the US) so I'm glad I could watch it here.
I was upset when I read Elisabeth Sladen had died, I loved Sarah Jane Smith and would of loved to met her. She came across as a lovely lady and its nice David Tennant does such a lovely tribute.
Like DT, I watched Lis on DW as a kid too. Was so sad when she left. It was never the same, and eventually quit watching DW for various reasons. Became a fan again when she returned as SJ, and DT's Doctor helped too, and was so thrilled with what happened with the character later on. Lis was a wonderful person and terrific actor. SJ said "Don't Forget Me". I have most of the DVDs with SJ in them, and so glad to have them now... So, I will never forget! I love you Lis. RIP. Thanks DT. Good Video.
@DoctaWhoMegaFan412 The fact that it's called Sarah Jane Adventures, I doubt they would bring in another female character to take over, that would be an insult, and as the producers/writers have said, they like to believe that Sarah Jane just continues on in her world and life doing what she does best. I think it's safe to say that they will possibly air those episodes that she has filmed some time soon and just let it end there with Sarah's story still continuing.
Like David said, it's impossible that she's died. I just can't believe she's died. The last time we saw her in Goodbye Sarah Jane Smith, she looked fine. She will be remembered by all. RIP E.S.
I have never been affected by any celebrity deaths, but Elisabeth Sladen is one of my idols, I love The Sarah Jane Adventuresand Doctor Who, I just hope she knew hope much everyone loved her and thought of her as so down to earth and natural, she will be hugely missed! RIP Elisabeth Sladen xxx
David was always such a fanboy around Lis :) He's right... I hope she had some idea of just how much she meant to so many people. A celebrity death has never really affected me untill now... Three days and it still isn't any easier to let go.
@Lee86Cr i still cant believe it now, especially watching the new series of SJA :( its such a sad loss. i see why she didnt make her illness public though, Michael Jackson is still getting hassled now x
leave it to david tennnant to get the message across to people. still cant believe shes gone. if they replace sarah jane with another actress i will hate the bbc forever!
thank you so much for posting this - still can't get my head around the fact that she is gone - she was someone so remarkably full of energy and life. Such an important piece of my childhood...
My heart broke when I heard that she had passed. She was Fantastic! I love David Tennant he is wonderful!

David's said a few time that it "doesn't compute" and I know exactly what he means. So hard to believe that she's gone. Sadly missed.

If the BBC use another actress, it will spoil all of SJA. Like ROS3tYL3R said, I will hate the BBC forever.
