hi! thank you for this, I'm learning a lot with your videos. How about adding an "apt-get install zenity" in the first line of the script? I'm a Mac OS X user, do you know any alternative to zenity? thank you!
6:29 You were listing out systems, and you said: "Natural UNIX systems". For people that don't know, or think you can't get Natural UNIX anymore, BSDs, like FreeBSD, actually are Natural Unix (By that I mean they contain original Unix source code), and also, there is a Project, called V7/x86, witch is a port of V7 Unix to the PC.
@merkur32123: I said, "Actual UNIX systems", but yes, BSD is a direct descendant of UNIX were Linux is more of a distant relative. MacOS would also be a descendant of UNIX since it switched and started using code from FreeBSD and NetBSD. Or at lest a half brother :)
@3amDragon: I'm not sure what you are talking about. Forgive me if I misunderstand, but it seems like you are trying to insult me. Might have worked if I understood your comment. "Quite the contrary"? Quite the contrary to what?
Dragon here is right. These applications are horrible. How could this work for the consumer's personal modules? The conroller should in fact be set to negative.
worked great thanks :)

@holalluis:
Try something like this:
osascript -e 'tell app "System Events" to display dialog "Hello World'

why variables is wrapped in ""? like "$folder".. thanks in advance
aisbaa 7 months ago
@aisbaa: Putting variable and strings in quotes isn't always necessary, but it's a good habit to get into in case there are spaces in the string.

Quite the contrary, the scripts main controller should be set to negative, but nice try on this little tea time project for a beginner.
