Nice looking fish. I have a some nice africans: 1 yellow lab, 2 Kenyi, 1 Auratus, 1 Red Jewel, 1 Red Zebra, 2 Acei, 1 Blue Zebra. All under 2" and no problems. Im throwing a 2" Tiger Oscar in with a few more africans. But before people go hating, and try to tell me shit I already know, I'm not a fish noob. I already know everything about all of my fish. Oscars are not the "mean aggressive fish" people make them out to be. Every time u add a new fish you are taking a risk. No matter the species

One Oscar will do fine in a 55gal with a couple other smaller central american cichlids. Just not too many. Firemouths and Jack Dempseys are good tank mates with Oscars. A Green Terror might fight with your Oscar though. GT's tend to be more aggressive then Jacks and Firemouths are pretty calm. Gts usually make good tank mates with convicts, Jaguars and Midas.

thats pretty slow, although its normal for a GT. You want to see fast growth? Get an oscar. It will be 8-10 inches after the first year. An inch a month is normal for many CA cichlids.
