Yep that is Boughton Monchelsea Morris, I was one of them and there at Sidmouth that year amongst many others! great memories indeed. Thanks for the trip.

It is, and fond memories they are, of the time I danced with these people :) Now living in Australia, and unfit :(

I don't think so. I copied pretty much all that the guy who took this footage had of any Morris at Sidmouth in '88. He might have some more but I doubt it. Great stuff, isn't it?

Actually, fuzzy memory, maybe it was the Bought Monchelsea Morris...

Thinking about it some more, we started as separate teams, Boughton doing Cotswold style, Minstrel mixing traditions and male/female dancers. Then I believe Minstrel folded and Bought appears to have morphed in the dress and style of Minstrel. But perhaps someone else has a clearer memory.

I fairly sure this is the Minstrel Morris from Maidstone, Kent. Based at the the n Minstrel Wine Bar (now the Thirsty Pig?). I was one of the founders along with Jim and Trevor the publicans and musicians/singers.
