FAIL! feet weren't flat on the ground and the spotters assisted throughout the lift. End of story! This however would be acceptable in an american competition... lol
Was the guy on top assisting with a bench press...or was the guy on the bottom assisting with a deadlift???? That's one bit of footage that I would've erased!!! If you're going to film yourself, at least do it with a weight you can handle...or better yet, at a meet!!! To answer your question...as a matter of fact I do every rep in training as strict as possible...I'm sure it's why my shoulders are very strong...!!!
Textbook form people... wether he got the lift I dont know, you cant tell... he is def. strong, and his form is textbook!... all you people sayn otherwise and you shouldnt arch your back, prob roll your shoulders when you shrug and call a smith machine the proper way to squat... Unless you have a video dont say shit!
Back was bent and the spotters triceps started flexing. This guy was doing way too much weight for his current strength and needs to take off about 50 pounds.
A proper bench requires proper form. This was a fail.
stop talking when you don't know. There are two way of lifting now, the one with the foot with the full plantar on the ground, and no bending back. And this one, Head of the foot on the ground, and back bended, BUT THE BACK has to be bended from begining too end, and not move. but now u can do that, so fu
i guess you can call me old school. my motto is dont fucking touch the bar!!! ill let the weight crush me before anyone touches the bar. if you cant do it your self, then your just a pretender!! real strength on bench is no shirt no elbow wraps 2 second pause! anything less is gay!! my opinion!
@bigalb227 2 second pause? Thats a little extreme. Not everyone is in powerlifting or anything. I think as long as you dont bounce the shit out of it then its a good rep. Along with everything else you said
I agree with no spotter touching the bar UNTIL help is needed..however letting the weight crush you before you let someone help you get it off your chest is ridiculous.thats asking for injury , especially if its a heavy lift.any real lifter would accept the help because if your injured , you aint liftin.
That's not fair to say. So you're basically telling me that you bench 100% RAW with long ass pauses for each rep every training session? I feel sorry for your shoulders man. I'll give it to ya that you're way of benching is best for competition, but this was a training lift and training can be whatever it wants to be.
@bigalb227 wl keep "your opinions" to yourself. 530 lbs with people touching the bar and straps is like 515 without. andi dont believe you could touch that...
Oh no man, that wasn't a clean lift at all. Maybe we'll just disregard the 500 pound RAW bench he did in competition with a pause along with the 610 pull and 730 squat. All RAW at 308. Truth is, this lift wasn't "clean", but he's DEFINATELY a strong dude. Nice lifting Joey!!!
It is not about hating it is about being a effective critic. By us judging him on his technique he can possibly be one of the best powerlifters the world has ever seen. He will then go on to lift a long extensive bodybuilding career free of injuries. He's strong but obviously his lift isn't entirely proper. Is he strong, Fuck yeah he is. But does that mean the strong people always have proper lifters no they don't. Say before you say I am a hater learn to lift and get your head of his nuts.
Well, to tell you the truth the only time I saw him with his back on the bench is when I got up of the bench, If his arms are short he should off either lowered the bench or had a proper lift off. Plus the spotter looked like he was actually helping him lift. I think he should take of 50 lbs and try a flat bench press instead of a decline bench press.
I actually think you the homo, because it seems you are so in to this guy you can't realize this isn't a proper lift. He had help with the lift and his back is clearly 6 inches at least of the bench, that is a decline bench pretty much. What don't you get you head off and make the Call it is not a good lift. Sure he is strong but does mean he does always have a good lift, buddy this is not a good lift.
That bench-press was done correctly according to power lifting standards. You are describing the type of bench-press performed by bodybuilders who are try to stretch and load as much blood into the muscle for development. As long as your butt is on the bench, an arced back is perfectly fine, however I do understand why people say arching is cheating because it drops the distance from the bar to your chest and give your more leverage but it certainly is not cheating.
no i mean thats 100% legal in the powerlifting federation he competes in along with several others. his butt and shoulders are on the bench and his feet aren't moving around. its a training lift so he didn't pause it but other than that, it would pass.
100 percent legal is incorrect the person lifting obviously had assistance from his spotting partner so there goes the saying "No Lift". This guys back is way too arched since there is no rule against that I would say that can slide. Since you arches his back to such an extent he is using is the majority of his pectoral major and he is able to got more use of his tri's than he normal would with a flat bench press no arch. Sorry I can give this guy props for the strength but other than that sorry
So, it seems like everyone besides wolf gangle is a compete douche, and should stop watching powerlifting videos if they don't know the rules. Fucking pussies.
feet should be flat-typical commentary by a whimsical wimp weight mover, hands of spotter should stay off the barbell anyway otherwise things are fishy to say the least
@myslimakastreetfight hes benched 800 in competition so its not fake

Mmm, I know that when somebody is helping even a little bit it feels for great help.
When doing practice with overweight in way that another one is helping a bit it's very easy to help too much.

i prefer to bench by my self. spotter is ok.
why not benching very fine "only" 500 lbs?
walterkurda 3 years ago
if you divide the weight by 4 (amount of people touching the bar) plus the elbow wraps, the guy only benched 400lbs!!
