@supermonicamadison akito sounds like a boy because the anime was made while there was a stop in the manga, because the author broke her hand, and they didn't have enough material because only 6 books had been written. the anime was still going when she got back to writing it, so they got to do some of the 7th book, but the author didn't like how the anime was going, so she had it ended. i don't blame her, the manga is 100000 times better. ok but anyway yeah akito's gender wasn't revealed yet.
