@mark12130 Why does the Russian government say it? They don't. Why do people on youtube say it? Because of nothing better to do, just like you and I. Military 'strength' is relevant by the way. No country could invade North America for example because of the massive oceans on either side, unless they had an alliance with Canada or Mexico or both. No country could invade Russia because its massive size would allow plenty of time for the army to devour the enemy forces. It's a relative thing.

They were strong enough to do it 100+ years ago, since the state of California was part of Mexico before the Americans took it lol...anyway what I was saying is that no other,bigger/more powerful country could invade MAINLAND USA without allying with either Mexico or Canada, because getting lots of troops DIRECTLY to mainland America by ship/aircraft would be impossible, due to the 2 huge oceans on either side.

I think it had something to do with someone saying stuff about invading Russia vs. invading the USA...and my point was it's next to impossible to do either, because both are very well protected not just by military personnel but by geographical features. The USA has two huge oceans on either side, Russia has the biggest chunk of land in the world. Thus, both very very very hard to invade.

@91Javelin I don't think its any different in any country - army pay is generally lower than corporate pay but that's cuz you get free housing, food, insurance and other benefits. Generally, kids will join cuz its a better deal than working a boring job or being a laborer. The govt will try to make it easier by saying they will be proud for serving their country and all that bullshit. It's the same everywhere. Maybe for poor dumb kids, it's a good deal.

2) The Russians have more nuclear weapons. Nuclear war - no-one wins, but more of US is destroyed.

3) The US public would never stomach a war of attrition - the Russian public have, and would again if it came to it. Long term non-nuclear war - the US would have to break off because the public would be sickened by the carnage and the deaths of its young men.
