I'm going to be a brain surgeon when I get older. I'm only a freshman in high school now though, but I'm taking all ap classes in the medical field that I can.
@CoreyHunterSmith You can take whatever you want to if you don't work as hard as you can to get the grades to enter medical school, you won't do nothing.
God I hate cancer. My now one year old had a resection in the pineal region for AT/RT (rhabdoid cancer). Her surgeon did an amazing job but it wasn't without loss.
The pineal gland is a very small gland (about the size of a grain of rice) just about in the very middle of the brain (on all dimensions). One primary function is regulation of sleep/wake cycles. Pineal cysts are usually benign and not dangerous, but if they get large enough, they can disturb function of some of the surrounding areas that have pretty important jobs. Parts like the superior colliculi that help process vision or the thalamus which is a relay station for most sensory information.
This is amazing. I'm sure they know what they're doing, and I'm sure I'm just being stupid here, but how much I saw everything jarring around in the first few seconds made me nervous. This whole video made me nervous. But it's amazing what we can do

Excuse my ignorance. That liquid they're using isn't water... is it?...
str8out 2 years ago
well, the brain is approximatly 80% water, but i don;t know if that matters. Water with a little saline/disinfectant solution would be my guess
