The guitar is a Yamaha SGV 700, the more expensive version of the SGV 300, as it has gold hardware (I saw on a photo somewhere else).
The SGV 700 was issued alone for the Japanese home market.

He plays a Yamaha SGV 300. This is a reissue of the Yamaha SG5 from the sixties. I play two of these reissues (a red and a vintage yellow) and got an old one from `67 in sunburst. The reissues are cheap and damned good for surf sound or others! You don`t have to play them with too thin strings! Reverbed cheers & Twang greetings from Germany! Ralf Kilauea

Dick "The King of Surf Rock" Dale, actually went to Japan to see these guys and pronounce Shigeo Naka(this guy) the new "Prince of Surf Rock". These guys are awesome.

Are you sure? If so it can't be very serious. I'm a practicing doctor and I didn't see any obvious signs of illness - in fact I thought he was functioning quite well. Perhaps you're privy to some sort of inside information?
