YOu guys don't understand the concept of god as self or Christ consciousness or actualizing. It's not about being another god it's about being one in the same as the true god, just like jesus who was just a man like we all are; capable of becoming gods. ......unless you're a white devil
You guys are fuckin retards... rakim isn't saying he's God, he's saying that he is the God of rap... wow ppl r so ignorant don't talk shit cuz if it wasn't for rakim you wouldn't be listening to much hiphop or rap today
man its crazy that people just cant enjoy music anymore listen to lyrics and take them for what they are...just because he calls himself GOD MC doesn't mean he is taking some place away from god...just enjoy the music these cats put out...and hopefully the artist we come to love and respect don't flush their careers down a toilet for a quick buck...my list has like maybe ten folks worth listening to 1 nas 2 rakim 3 slick rick 4 outkast 5 eminem 6 lil wayne 7 blackstar 8 2pac 9 q-tip 10 game
2 B honest, I'm not impressed with the production on this LP. I think The Alchemist, Dj Premier & Pete Rock's productions are better suited 2 Rakim. Even the production that supports Master Ace would work well with Raa, even more ambitious a track with The Roots would have been sublime. A live instrumental likened 2 " Know The Ledge" & "Don't Sweat The Technique". He should've had like Black Thought, Masta Ace, KRS1, Lauryn Hill, & Q Tip featuring on this album, siiiigghh ! a fella can dream.
first off you quoting your the Alpha Omega and calling your self a GOD MC is totally against what Jesus teaches, it's called Haughty, and actually God says that's an abomination, if you don't know the gospel and all of it please out of respect for God don't call yourself his title and then misconstrue his gospel that's the height of Arrogance and Ignorance check yourself
Only One God, a triune, three in one, The Father(Creator), The Son(Christ), and The Holy Spirit(Comforter). No other, No Rakim, No Jay-Z, oh yeah and Jesus did walk on water, don't be a hater Ra just cuz u can't. One Love, One God, One Way!!!
Weezydrake are you fo real? you cant mean that wayne is one of the top 10 rappers? tell me how? he cant freestyle barely got any flow and the ONLY thing he rhymes about is money damn poser. Jaychyllin I agree with you but not kanye man he used to be aight but now I mean that fool shoud be ashamed of himself he sold out hip hop. Rastaofari Big respect for u man thats some true shit, Rakim Keep it up baby peace!
I've always loved and respected The Blackman for being the first of The Body to have our Universal Flag in a video (Move The Crowd - 2nd video). But he's not the only "God MC" . My name is Sincere, and I've been considered "THE LYRICAL LORD" since the early eighties. Drugs and crime detoured my rap career; but those in the know will listen.... and then imagine how shit would've been if I had never did seven years in prison......
I think that Rakim should of worked with more known producers on this album like RZA, Q-Tip, Premo, Pete Rock, JDilla (R.I.P), The Alchemist, Large Professor, Kanye West ... You know ... all those legendary producers .. He would of gotten a little more shine if he had done that . But .. It was his decision .. and I respect that . After all he's the God MC . I think that this year he should try releasing a 2nd solo album with some of those producers I named . PEACE TO THE GOD .
@JayChyllin09 Tell me about it... I think all those producers you named should be working with an artist 24/7. The legendary rappers should be on the legendary producers beats, thats when classics are made. This beat is wackk compared to what Preme or Pete Rock would do. This song dope doe.
@JayChyllin09 i respect his talent and him. but he aint a god so stop comparing imperfect humans to god, brother think before you write, be logical and reasonable when you speak, peace be with you.
@JayChyllin09 wont happen just because its too dated, plus theres no money in that... hes gotta pay for those beats rather then gettin some random kats who just want some shine.
@JayChyllin09 well, rakim does not want all these guys. you know, rakim's age has past in a way. He is now coonsidered the god mc, but he wont easily gain newer crowd, because the scene has lost its taste in good quality music with fine lyrics and prefers to listen to all these fake gangstaz. Btw, i think that a rapper should have his producer and not make albums with many productions form others. Thats a part of the meaning of the "crew" actually.
@JayChyllin09 word is born. i feel you on that jay-c. they always find some way to flop on a comeback project when it comes to the real mechanics that it would take to get real rap cranked up again. they've crunked it up then over hustle it up now. feel you 100% on your comment. .Los s.c. 29010
Sorry i don't understand spoken english so i give high priority to instrumental and flow with. I have the old albums of Rakim and they are so good i liten them regulary. But in this one the instrumentals are so awful that he can't develop his fantastic flow (perhaps the lyrics are good, this is another thing) and it's sad but for the moment (it's the first time im listen this album and this is just the half), i put "next" to all the song before the end of them...
yall dont download stuff like this . the more sales and numbers soundscan get the more the media the more media the more exposer the more exposer the more this type of stuff become the next thing insted of all this week crap thats been out for the last decade
NOW: LET THIS CLEAR UP ONE THING: Never, ever, youngbloods, give an argument again about "who's the best emcee"! Nas, 50, common, Wheezy, Jay-z, NONE of them are on the level of Rakim! This brother is so deep in his words and feelings, no other rapper comes close!
RZA???? Are you SERIOUS?? Wow. Ok. Nas followed in his footsteps. You have to realize that Rakim CHANGED THE GAME similar to Wilt Chamberlain in the NBA. Really, some of the cats you youngsters bring up cracks me up. Nas is one of the closest to thinking on his level.
actually im absolutley serious. deep lyrics, an array of concepts, name it RZA does it all except commercial garbage. wut RZA wuznt rappin the same time Rakim did. RZA, GZA, Nas, Krs-One, they can match Rakim. also stop being cynical, my age doesnt determine my knowledge of hip hop. Go listen to the RZA if u aint kno. if not u can keep cracking up in your lil bubble of ignorance.
The only bubble of ignorance is the fact that you are unaware that i've watched this thing called hip-hop since it's infancy. I am well aware of RZA, Nas, And especially KRS-One. KRS and Nas are two of the few that can touch him. RZA? no. I did my thing overseas and here from 86'-94,' so yes, i think i do "kno".
can't agree more, ra shaped hp hop amazingly, so many artists coming up now, model their style around rakim. Look at nas, an amazing lyrical talent, but emulates rakim. And rza? A great producer, but nowhere near at the same level of Rakim, let alone even Nasir
our knowledge of hip hop is insignificant neway cuz there jus opinions. ive done my research, nd i love the music, i can match ur expertise. tragedy wuz actually a good song, can stop me now wuz trash agreed. but song like 12 jewels, a day to god is a 1000 years, u kno the songs. nd u kno wut besides the ppl we named. who says immortal technique shouldnt b in the same group as nas, krs, rakim, kool g rap, big daddy kane, brand nubian. etc... I.T. is one of the best ive ever heard.
i know the rap circulatin' france, espana, belgium and holland. i agree with the seperate mind, pointsur u suck ass. you are old you just dont understand
RA all day e'day...and them autotune niggas get radio play time like the wild on animal planet. Ima resort to revolution in a violent manner, jus run th blocks and shoot up all ths fake mufuckas!
@nivag25 well rakim was more famous at a time when youtube was not. it makes sense that this doesnt have as much hits. you cant expect people to into things from the past, such as you were the same way when this type of music came out.
The new testement of the bible was written in Greek. Of course when u translate something it isn't perfect. Mathew 17 can also be translated:
"why does thou question me concerning what is good? None is good but the one God." which is saying that the only way to get to heaven is by god. The bible is clear that God and Jesus are one as part of a trinitym and it would make no sence for jesus to blatently go against taht making the king james translation inaccurate in that area.
bro just listen to hook!! this man tellin tha truth, you are GOD. your will is your intention voiced by your thoughts that attracts what you want creating your reality which defines you as a GOD, youv just been woken
What the fuck do rappers think when they hear this dude ride a beat flawlessly? All these cats claiming to be great should commit suicide when they hear tracks like this.
@WeezyDrakeYoungMoney , You dumb little bitch you dont even know how to interperate the song prolly dumb bitch, You should prolly take lil wayne little cock out ya mouth and pay attention to the song... Biatch
@WeezyDrakeYoungMoney My screen name isn't bitten! I go by my own name, not a bf/gay pop-rap crew. wayne's lil cock in your mouth must not take up much space, because you still spew much tish.
hejda123: Rastaofari Big respect for u man thats some true shit
HO (aka weezysucksdrakewhileminajstraponfuxhim): he's just metaphorically talking about how great he is........wow, that's so deep. NOT
bigrockstar41: Doesn't lil wayne do that.... on every fucking song (in EVERY 'song')
@WeezyDrakeYoungMoney the moment you list Lil Wayne with Nas, Emiem, KRS-One etc. you forfeit your right to be taken seriously. Might as well list Lil Bow Wow.
KRS-One: "I told Wayne to his face, he's the dopest MC out. MC, not rapper. I told him to his face, cause I believe that. Wayne is NICE! Wayne is BANANAS with his lyrics, his delivery, with his whole thing! Lil Wayne is the MAN!"
That was KRS-One's exact quote. Run along now. You've been destroyed
@WeezyDrakeYoungMoney Shut up. OWNED. ha haa. Just because Em, Jigga, and KRS one say it, does that automatically make it true?? NO... that is just 3 ppls opinions. They're just saying that to be modest nn not start problemz. Also, if lil wayne IS one of the best rappers in the game, that isn't saying much because every rappers is garbage now days, even the great ones. Every single new rapper is garbage, and all the legends are either dead or a lot worse than they used 2 be. point made
@detroitMC313 true... though sean price's a legend, ghost is a legend, rakim, masta ace, andre 3000, ice t, and these cats are rippin shit just ass hard if not harder(ghost, p, dre) than when they became legendary. my opinion. whatever.
Plus, the moment you compared Wayne to Bow Wow, you immediately lost all credibility. Wayne certainly can be compared to Eminem, Nas, and KRS-One. Wayne is Top 10 rapper of all time, so those comparisons are legit.
@WeezyDrakeYoungMoney The comparisons are only legit in your opinion, as it's just your opinion that Wayne is a top 10 rapper of all time. As a Lil Wayne fan, you begin with zero credibility, so if I'd lost all of mine, you still wouldn't be ahead. You're a kid who thinks quote mining is proof. I emphasize 'kid.'
oh well? at least those idols are real, id rather "worship" a voice of a generation than something that doesnt even fuckin exist and tricks billions of people into living life like a pussy.
We have the ability to transcend this physical plane and this existence, every single one of us in existence does. Few ever awaken to the understanding that you are yourself the Most High and return to the Absolute from which everything was manifest.
Rakim is just trying to convey the Five Percenter, Masonic and esoteric understanding from the Egyptian Mystery School teachings: that we are all Gods and have an infinite connection to the Creator Himself. We are all God in the flesh but mot individuals get caught up in interpreting scripture at face value and religious dogma, never realizing that they are divine in their own right.
think god the GODS back..niggas should recognize/and get off these same style ass niggas dick sayin the same shit the other is. rakim best of all time 2. have ta be Krayzie bone

our knowledge of hip hop is insignificant neway cuz there jus opinions. ive done my research, nd i love the music, i can match ur expertise. tragedy wuz actually a good song, can stop me now wuz trash agreed. but song like 12 jewels, a day to god is a 1000 years, u kno the songs. nd u kno wut besides the ppl we named. who says immortal technique shouldnt b in the same group as nas, krs, rakim, kool g rap, big daddy kane, brand nubian. etc... I.T. is one of the best ive ever heard.

What the fuck do rappers think when they hear this dude ride a beat flawlessly? All these cats claiming to be great should commit suicide when they hear tracks like this.
theyoungcommander 2 years ago 3
They think:
a)"my head hurts, there's too much meaning"
b)"my fans would never listen to this, you can't shake your ass to it or make it a ringtone out of it"
c)"who is this graybeard, and why isn't he using any autotune?"

Better rappers like Eminem, Nas, Biggie, Pac, Jay-Z, Andre 3000, KRS-One, Weezy, Immortal Technique, Common, Scarface, should I go on?
WeezyDrakeYoungMoney 1 year ago
@WeezyDrakeYoungMoney the moment you list Lil Wayne with Nas, Emiem, KRS-One etc. you forfeit your right to be taken seriously. Might as well list Lil Bow Wow.
SolidSnakeRules 1 year ago
@SolidSnakeRules
Jay-Z, Eminem, and KRS-One have all said that Wayne is 1 of the greatest rappers in the game. You = Owned

@WeezyDrakeYoungMoney That's because everything they do is motivated by profits. Quote mining is the last refuge of dumbfucks.

Every single new rapper is garbage, and all the legends are either dead or a lot worse than they used 2 be. point made
detroitMC313 1 year ago
@detroitMC313 true... though sean price's a legend, ghost is a legend, rakim, masta ace, andre 3000, ice t, and these cats are rippin shit just ass hard if not harder(ghost, p, dre) than when they became legendary. my opinion. whatever.
ShoegunSlimm 1 year ago
@SolidSnakeRules
Plus, the moment you compared Wayne to Bow Wow, you immediately lost all credibility. Wayne certainly can be compared to Eminem, Nas, and KRS-One. Wayne is Top 10 rapper of all time, so those comparisons are legit.
WeezyDrakeYoungMoney 1 year ago
@WeezyDrakeYoungMoney The comparisons are only legit in your opinion, as it's just your opinion that Wayne is a top 10 rapper of all time. As a Lil Wayne fan, you begin with zero credibility, so if I'd lost all of mine, you still wouldn't be ahead. You're a kid who thinks quote mining is proof. I emphasize 'kid.'
SolidSnakeRules 1 year ago 6

@SolidSnakeRules
I have tons of credibility with legends like Eminem, Jay-Z, and KRS-One backiing up my opinion.
Eminem: "I've always respected what Wayne does, and Wayne, to me, is definitely one of the greatest in the game right now."
KRS-One:"I told Wayne to his face, he's the dopest MC out"
Jay-Z: "Wayne is 1 of the most talented in the game"
Eminem, Jay-Z, KRS-One's opinions > your opinion
End of story.

We have the ability to transcend this physical plane and this existence, every single one of us in existence does. Few ever awaken to the understanding that you are yourself the Most High and return to the Absolute from which everything was manifest.
MetaversalSouljah 2 years ago
Rakim is just trying to convey the Five Percenter, Masonic and esoteric understanding from the Egyptian Mystery School teachings: that we are all Gods and have an infinite connection to the Creator Himself. We are all God in the flesh but mot individuals get caught up in interpreting scripture at face value and religious dogma, never realizing that they are divine in their own right.

look at the barbaras bible, muhammed a.s is still mentioned there with his name!!
and if you read the new testament (wich is changed at least 5 times)properly you will see jesus pbuh also talks about the final messenger!!
if you read MARK LUKE JOHN MATTHEW its normal that you think the way you do!!
does anybody know who these guys are??
bible is full of contradictions and god dont contradict!!
