Go giants. If you're interested, I made a simulated tour flight of the greater area in a seaplane. It begins at the downtown, makes its way up the coast and then to silicon valley.
This is so amazing..it just sucks that absolutely no southern team for any sport would join this project. I hate living down here in the south so much..it's impossible to get away from bullies calling you names because of who you are.
Being Bisexual, and having been told to go kill myself and been called nasty names it warms my heart to see my team doing this video. Go Giants! Together we are Giant!
im proud to see this video. thanks guys! things really did get incredibly better for me, and all of my friends. I have been there and its important that people going through this now, see that there is an opportunity for things to get much better, even if that seems hard to believe. Much "stranger" things have happened. stay strong and know that you have ever growing communities of love and support.
Yet another reason why I am SO very proud to be a Giant's fan and native San Franciscan! And for those leaving messages of hate...imagine that your words are the final push some scared 14, 15, or 16 year old kid needs to kill themselves, because words of hate like yours are EXACTLY what has CHILDREN deciding that life isn't worth living.
you are all haters. And i hate niggers. they all look like monkeys that suck alot of cock. fuck all of your mothers. I hope you all die a painful death basterds
I used to get made fun of in high school, and when I say I'd cry hard, that's an understatement. I'd skip school just to sit in my car cause the thought of walking into class would make me want to puke. It took years to realize there were many people who went through similar struggles. I can't even blame those kids, cause we were just kids. By getting "better" I think it's realizing that as you get older, the thoughts of others just matters less. Stay strong (and go to college!!).
@scajk29 What big picture? It may get better for some, but not for all. I wish I had stayed in the damn closet. Everything just got worse when I decided to come out.
@Alexandre73193 Because you're only looking for it instantly. I'm and they're talking about the long term. Sorry to hear about that, but it is true for the vast majority of LGBT people.
@Alexandre73193 Sorry bud, you seem to have missed the point. Your personal experiences are your own, but to say that they are "lying" is just plain inaccurate.
@Alexandre73193 Yeah, except that it doesn't work like that. i seriously doubt the Giants were like "Hey, this Youtube user is having a hard time, but we're going to tell him otherwise anyway!" You're not that important, I'm afraid.
@Alexandre73193 Lol sorry. I'm not going to let obviously false information get spewed. My motivations are none of your business.
And I'm afraid of what? Now you're not even making sense. Considering how you seem to be a giant self-loather, it's pretty ironic that you'd say that.
@Alexandre73193 It's called an expression, bud. Learn it. Mostly comes from an "I don't want to tell you this, but..." if you really are that ignorant.
And you're free to scream that the IGBP is some sort of great conspiracy all you want, that doesn't make it true. There are more people in the world than just you, so get used to it.
@scajk29 Wow, you really got me there. I seriously thought I was the only one in this world. Good to know there are others.
I know that I am ignorant on some things, however I am not ignorant on that. And you could have said something other than "I'm afraid".
Now, if you would so kindly as to stop arguing with me over something that we will never see eye-to-eye on, that would be most appreciated. Thank you, and good day.
@Alexandre73193 Pretty funny coming from someone who seems to think the IGBP is all just about him. That's where the "you're not that important" line came from.
And it takes two to tango. If you think all this is meaningless, you're perfectly free to stop anytime. No one is forcing you to respond.
@Alexandre73193 Oh and if you truly don't know what the "I'm afraid" expression means, then I guess you must have even more issues than what i previously thought.
@scajk29 And I thought my life was pathetic. All you've ever done was insult me from the very beginning; you must have some hidden psychological issues. I guess I'm doing better than I thought. I'll pray for you.
@Alexandre73193 "Dur, dur, you're a poopyhead" isn't an argument. Nice try, though. And I find it very ironic that you're the giant self-loather, and yet I'm the one with mental issues. I'd like to see your "logic" on this.
@Alexandre73193 Oh, and actually the first thing I said was point out that this video is talking about the big picture. There was no "insulting" going on there. I only got snarky after YOU decided to be an ass about this and the IGBP. Oops, wrong again!
This still makes me so happy. I love my boys (the Giants) so much, and as a gay teenager growing up, you think that being gay has no place in sports. Well being gay does have a place, and I'm glad the Giants stood up against LGBT bullying. Now let's just get them into the playoffs again!
It gets "more shameful and perverse"! God gave woman to be with man. Turn away from your sin and turn to the Savior!
Romans 1:26For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, 27and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.
I wanna know when it gets better. I was just hospitalized after I got beaten up. Three guys jumped me and beat me with a baseball bat. I am lucky to be alive. I wish I wasn't. When does it get better for me?
@Alexandre73193 Thats a point I was about to make..it doesn't actually get better..there will be bullies at every stage of life. All you have to do is look at the gay rights current struggle to know that it has not gotten better..we are making tiny strides..but don't give these kids false hope that when they get older the bullies go away.
As a die-hard Giants fan, I can say that I love the Giants more because of this video. No amount of words can express how proud I am of my favourite team for taking a step against bullying.
If Lincecum was in this video, I would be all the more ecstatic... Still, kudos to the Giants for this video (and to Torres' three seconds in it)! Go Giants!!
How proud the Giants must be to make this video for "It Gets Better." Thanks for this post. Don't ever take it away. Every day, and at every game, so many young people look up to the Giants as role models for sportsmanship and professionalism. This video gives hope to them. Thank you to the Giants for this.
all these years and I hated sports because I thought it represented and was the epitome of everything (machismo, homophobia) that hated me. And then I see this. I could give sports another try...
@capitanzach To be fair a lot of sports, especially in the Uk, are as you think and will most likely remain that way for years to come. The likes of Google, Facebook, Dell, Pixar, The Cubs, The Giants, Obama and even David Cameron (although he talks bullshit) have joined the project but that still has no affect on how the kids are bullied in the schools.
@CaptBullfrog Sounded that way to me. Travis Ishikawa is of Japanese descent (still with the organization but playing AAA ball last I heard), and of course Japantown takes up a couple blocks in SF.
@hollabackitsobi Thats what jocks do, they bully people. I bet almost every single member of this time called people faggot every single day in school. Jocks are awful people.
@cda76er Not to mention the that you have said a few times now that you were done trolling this topic, and yet you keep on trying to prove things by pointing out your pretend masters and citing the most inaccurate and non-scholarly of all sources that has ever existed which are not allowed to be used in any scholarly context in any University. You really make me giggle! And you are proving the point that Christianity will try to change real facts by making up whatever they want. Good job.
@cda76er Right... Took you long to come up with that? NO scholar uses Wikipedia, which you misspelled twice by the way... totally Duke material there. And considering I cited REAL citations that oppose your "universally-accepted facts", they are not so universally-accepted now are they? It is very obvious you are lying, and you do realize that YOU believe you go to Hell for telling lies, right? Shame, Shame, Shame...
@avalonspawn OK, one more reply since you are such an obnoxious, ignorant & arrogant mocker. My degrees are a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Duke University & a Master of Divinity from Westminster Theological Seminary. I could care less if you don't believe me, but I do hope you will one day realize you are fighting on the wrong side and come over to God's side. It is your supposed "scholarship" that is a joke, though, because it neglects universally-accepted facts (as Wikapedia shows).
@cda76er The only manuscripts that were kept by the Church were those that were used during the revision of the Bible. There are other manuscripts that are out there, but they completely contradict the Bible. Such as the story of Judas having never betrayed Jesus, and many others. And I have read up on some of them. But they do nothing for your point, what the Church was able to get their hands on that contradicted the Bible were burned. There are even mentions of Satan planting them. lol.
@cda76er wow... you state that you majored in ANYTHING and you are quoting Wikipedia as your source? Oh yeah, there is totally the Bible scholars "scholarly" answer. You can write whatever you want on there and say it's true! Great job...
@cda76er And it is amazing how Bible scholars miraculously pulled those original scriptures out of the fire. Since most of them were burned. And I do not see anyone following the few documents which were originally found. The most accurate Bible is the King James version which as been altered 5 times and that does not even include it's being translated at least 5 individual times... rendering it as real and accurate as your supposed major.
@avalonspawn Where do you get this nonsense? We have 100's of manuscripts that pre-date the Council of Trent. In fact the Bible is by far the most documented ancient text that there is. Check the Wikapedia article: "Biblical Manuscripts" to get a good summary. I will not continue this exchange with you any further because you clearly have no interest in learning about anything that challenges your own narrow, arrogant & hateful perspective. You are guilty of what you accuse me of, not me.
@cda76er The Bible says a lot of things, all those things that the pope wanted it to say to keep sheep like yourself in the Church. There is no God, the Bible is PROVEN to be a fake, I have not been deceived into thinking anything. And that was the 5th documented revision (although, by far the most infamous)... so the point is still moot. And so what if I am wrong about God, what if you are wrong about Allah? What if you are wrong about Budda? Or Zeus? etc...
Like this if you are gay, don't believe in God, know Christians believe that homosexuality is a sin, and you don't give a damn because you are NOT Christian. Since so many Christians out there cannot seem to accept the fact that not everyone conforms to bigoted, murderous, and politically controlled religion.
@avalonspawn You may choose not to believe in God, but what if you're wrong? The Bible says that everyone knows God, but resists Him due to sin. Christianity is not about religion & church. It's about living in relationship with the God who made you, sustains your life every moment and became a man in order to restore you to relationship with Him. Unfortunately, you have been deceived into thinking that what is really the best thing a person can do - to turn to the Only True God, is the worst
@cda76er So... now where are your citations. And yes, I will look them up and read them, so you better post real ones. I do not appreciate liers pushing any agenda's, religious or not, by making facts up as they please.
@avalonspawn I think you need to read your own history text more carefully. Doesn't it say that the Council of Trent happened after the Protestant Reformation & is rejected by all Protestants? You are correct about 1 thing - the Roman Catholic Church did attempt to control the Scriptures. But, the Reformation & Renaissance led to the return to the study of the Scriptures in the original languages & translation into modern languages. This is what modern Bible scholars do.
@cda76er My Western Civilizations text book, where I originally learned how incredibly politicaly corrupt the Church and the Bible really were/are and that the Bible had been edited many times including the Council of Trent: "Western Civilizations, 11th edition; Standish Meacham, Edward McNall Burns, Robert E. Lerner; ISBN-13: 9780393956573". So you can take that masters that you lied about and shove it... that or you REALLY need to do your homework. Oh, and fuck your prejudiced fake God.
@cda76er Want some other scholarly documents? Try "Hubert Jedin, Konciliengeschichte, Herder Freiburg, 138", "Trenkle, Franz Sales (2003-03-03). "Council of Trent". Retrieved 2008-01-22.", "Council of Trent: Decree De invocatione, veneratione et reliquiis sanctorum, et de sacris imaginibus, 3.12.1563, Sessio 25.", "Bühren 2008, p. 635f.; about the historical context of the decree on sacred images cf. Jedin 1935." - all state the Bible was revised in the Council of Trent. History 101 book soon.
@cda76er And homosexuals are not ignorant of Christian perspective. We just don't believe it, or care what you believe. We are very well aware of what YOU believe, we just do not agree. That does not equate to ignorance. However, you pushing your prejudiced beliefs does make you a bigot. And your lying by making things up to prove your religious beliefs which are very untrue makes you as much a sinner as homosexual that you fear so much. I pity you for living in such prejudice and fear.
@cda76er That is funny considering you responded to the post in which I cited "Cross, F. L., ed. The Oxford Dictionary of the Christian Church (Oxford University Press 2005 ISBN 978-0-19-280290-3), article Trent, Council of". And everything I have stated was even covered in basic western civilizations 101, it is very common knowledge and you need to do your research. For a supposed master in the subject you are very ignorant of basic Christian history... where all scholars disagree with you.
@cda76er and yes, I do know how you feel about the pro-LGBT movement. You are afraid that people you are prejudiced against will actually be treated equal and that you have to face the reality that we exist. Just like people exactly like you feared that blacks would have rights, and how you feared women would have rights, and that you are not held high above everyone else because your god dictates that your male white self is perfect. I just don't approve.
@avalonspawn You're the one who isn't willing to consider that there is another perspective on these matters because you are so certain that you are right. This is actually prejudice on your part. As are your personal attacks on me. I used to be the same way, until God opened my eyes. May He do the same for you before it is too late. He exists whether you believe in Him or not. I believe you already know this in your heart. It's just that you are afraid of Him, but you don't have to be.
@cda76er Homosexuality is ok, I do not need to convince myself of anything. I never said it is smiled upon by God... I do not believe in your God so that is a completely moot point, and I am not under any obligation to believe in your false idol. It is perfectly fine for you to think whatever you want religiously, I strongly feel that your beliefs should not influence government into suppressing other believes, religions, and or cultures. You have NO right to dictate my belief system.
@cda76er I made factual statements and backed them up with scholarly articles. I have seen nothing of the sort from you. By posting what you would like to believe, which is not true, you are lying... which is as much of a sin as homosexuality in your precious Bible. I do not believe that you have a masters relating to theology, because you have made multiple false statements and didn't even know what the Council of Trent was about. It is people like you who give Christianity a bad name.
@avalonspawn I don't recall seeing any scholar articles from you in this thread. You made a claim about the Council of Trent which you probably saw in Dan Brown's fictional novel or some other pop conspiracy theory article. Sorry, this is not scholarship. You are going to believe what you want to believe. But, in the end, what matters is what is true. I am not going to go around & around with you because you obviously are ignorant of the most basic facts of Biblical studies & Church history
@cda76er Just because most homosexuals do not want to be Christian does not make them intolerant. It means they have different beliefs than you do. Your believing that every person has to be Christian and obey Christian law makes YOU intolerant. By trying to force your religious beliefs on others, whether it is through badgering them to death with your preaching, or by forcing your Christian laws through the Government system, makes you intolerant. You are simply here to be a bigot. So stop.
@avalonspawn Homosexuals are intolerant when they seek to shut out the traditional Christian perspective. I never said that every person has to be a Christian, nor do I support laws which seek to get non-Christians to live as Christians. And it is not possible for one to force beliefs on another, although people can sometimes be persuaded to change their beliefs at times through dialogue. This is what I am seeking to do. It's called free speech, dude. And you saying "stop" is intolerant.
@avalonspawn You & those on your side need to understand how we Christians see the pro-LGBT movement - as one that does incredible damage to those it purports to help. Trying to convince yourself that homosexual activity is OK or, even, smiled upon by God is a delusion that will only lead to misery & destruction in the end. It is very much like someone driving down a road in which a bridge over a deep canyon is out who ignores warnings about it and refuses even to believe a map that shows this
@cda76er The Bible was taken from original texts, translated into Latin and the original documents destroyed or hidden. The Church tried to keep any other version other than Latin from every appearing because it would undermine the need for people to have the church translate it to the common people. All of the current versions of the Bible are translations of the Latin version. So yeah... you are arguing a point from an altered and biased version. You really need to read your history dude.
@avalonspawn You have bought into a lot of lies, especially about the Bible. For your information, all current versions of the Bible are translations of the original texts in Hebrew, Aramaic & Greek. Furthermore, what these texts are composed of is agreed upon by virtually all Bible scholars based on the manuscripts that have been found. You have watched too many Dan Brown movies. I have a Masters in this stuff, so you are the one who needs to read up, dude.
Reading all of these religiously driven questions on this video, I have only three questions: isn't the msg in the video "it gets better, [don't kill yourself]" Where does the Bible say, "and let all ye who disagree with this book die"?? and finally, if you're so hardcore Christian and detest all things gay, why'd you go outta your way to watch a pro-life video [which i thought was the christian stand, guess not.... as this is not pro gay video if you managed to pay attention] that's for gays?
@SeraphSoldier If the Bible is truly the Word of God (as I became convinced 29 years ago when I was a young man), then disagreeing with it means disagreeing with God Almighty, which puts one in a very bad position. That is the real issue here. All important issues in life boil down to religious questions, such as "Does God exist? What is God like? What does God love & hate?" The pro-LGBT movement is seeking to impose their own answers to this on our culture. This is why I am opposing it.
@cda76er My reply is clearly ridiculously late, but I plan on saying my peace. First off, IF you trusted in the Bible, you wouldn't have started your comment with "if the Bible is truly the word of God" - so way to discredit yourself right outta the gate. Secondly, my comment did not say "do we have to agree with the Bible" or "where does that put us"... it asked where the Bible taught hatred against diversity; it doesn't. This is a message to promote life and MY GOD teaches that to be good...
First, it's "say my piece" not "peace". And when I say "if the Bible is truly the Word of God" I'm simply suggesting that the reader consider what I already know is true. The Bible clearly & inescapably teaches that homosexuality is sinful in both Testaments. It does not do so in terms of racial differences (though some have tried to twist it to justify bigotry). It's funny how almost no one is arguing for celebrating pedophilia or prostitution (which is mutually-consented).
@cda76er@cda76er Neither Pedophilia or Prostitution involve real, loving, consensual or non-abusive relationships. Being gay doesn't make you any less of a person.
As for the Bible, verses most people use against homosexuality are largely taken out of context for that time.
Romans 1:26-27 is completely clear: All homosexuality is wrong because it's all a rejection of heterosexuality. Prostitution is consensual & usually non-abusive. People of the same sex can love each other, but to make love with each other is mutually-destructive. It's a sad irony that the young man who started the "It Get's Better" campaign recently committed suicide. Yet another sign that it only truly gets better if one resists all forms of sexual temptation, & seeks sexual purity
No, u r the bigot. We r so concerned with people who r destroying themselves & others by practicing & encouraging homosexual behavior that we r willing 2 endure the bitter attacks of people like u in order to get out the only message that brings lasting joy and peace. It's no different than trying to warn someone that they are about to drive off a cliff. In fact, the consequences of ignoring our warning are infinitely worse. U r free to disagree but not to stop us from speaking
Thank goodness, @cda76er - I was beginning to get worried. What I need is forgiveness right now. Lots of it, actually. See, I blacked out last night, and when I woke up, I was lying naked in a field next to a sleeping deer. I'm not quite sure what happened, but I think things got a bit rough. Do you think your god would forgive me? I'm pretty sure Odin, etc, wouldn't, but - since this was a buck - that the Greek gods would be pretty cool with the whole thing, if yaknowwhudimean, wink-wink.
@cda76er That's awesome you believe in doing what The Bible tells you. The giant elf who lives in my left boot has shown me scripture that says that you must convert to our church, and sign over all your worldly goods to me. You have to - it's in a _book_ we've named The Bible. It's got pop-ups, mazes, and a whole section on how all Christians have to undergo enemas as part of the MegaSuperConversion ritual. Remember: it's in The Bible. So you have to do it. Because we called the book The Bible.
@MBostonification For you to mock the beliefs & lives of millions of Christians over the past 2000 years the way you do is actually extremely arrogant & ignorant. You know not what you mock. But I forgive you because I once was where you are, until God opened my eyes. My hope & prayer is that He will do this for you as well. Whether you recognize it or not, your life is in His hands at every moment.
cda76er That is not a true statement. All gays everywhere know that Christians think that being gay is a sin. The point is... we don't give a damn about what you think... and most of us are not Christian. So that is fine, we will be more than happy to be married by a Wiccan minister and live our lives with other religions that don't feel that way... and Christianity can take their Bible and shove it. You can believe it is a sin, and Church can preach it... that's A'ok with us!
Not to mention there are SEVERAL points in the Bible that explicitly state that YOU do not judge people and that god does that (and you are most certainly here to throw stones). There is also the golden rule, and I don't see you raising your hand to be bullied, have your rights stripped from you, and being denied family... yet, here you are doing it to others. It is 100% fine if you think it is a sin, but the moment you treat the most flamboyant gay with disrespect you have broken gods laws.
@ cda76er "Pope Clement VIII issued in 1592 a revised edition of the Vulgate.[4]" Cross, F. L., ed. The Oxford Dictionary of the Christian Church (Oxford University Press 2005 ISBN 978-0-19-280290-3), article Trent, Council of. Oh, and in case you are not up to par, the Vulgate was the 4th revision of the bible... and every biblical scholar knows this to be fact. Now, if you were talking about theologists and not actual historians which might make your statement more accurate. Thanks!
@avalonspawn Nice try, but the Vulgate is only a Latin translation of the Bible in the original languages of Hebrew, Aramaic & Greek. It is the original text that I was referring to. Bible scholars/historians learn the original languages in order to study the Bible, just as any scholar who wishes to study original texts. And there is amazing agreement among these scholars that we have virtually all of the original text of the Bible, even though these scholars have widely differing theologies.
It is also FACT that the bible was re-written at the council of Trent so all the verses that you are referencing were not words of god, but of men... powerful, greedy, very sinful men who bought their position. So yeah... who gives a damn what your scripture has to say?
@avalonspawn That is clearly something that you heard from someone else. The Council of Trent had nothing whatsoever to do with "re-writing" the Bible. Look it up. The fact is that virtually all serious scholars of the Bible recognize that we know what the Bible says with only minor discrepancies. What is not agreed upon is what it means.
@cda76er You are obviously just here to troll. No gays want you to tell them about Christianity. Please follow the golden rule and leave us alone... unless you would like to be badgered by Muslims trying to convert you to their beliefs. You wouldn't like it? Neither do we. Give aid to those who want it, sure. Believe it is a religious sin, fine... we are honestly ok with that. Use religious believes to influence government and make us out to be sub-human... THAT we are not ok with.
@avalonspawn On the contrary, you may not want to hear it, but there are homosexuals who want to hear the Gospel, as the Exodus International ministry proves. Of course, many in the LGBT community want to shut out Exodus (as the recent campaign to remove Exodus from the ITunes store shows). But, whoever wants to shut out the historic Christian perspective is every bit as intolerant as the most intolerant anti-homosexual. I don't like to be "badgered", but what I am doing here is not badgering
@josh1492 I know Whom I have believed in. Your Jesus is not the Jesus of the Bible if you think He celebrates what is unquestionably sexual sin according to the Bible. I hope that you see your error before it is too late & He says to you:"Depart from Me for I never knew you." (Matthew 7:21-23 - "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord', will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in Heaven. . .")
@cda76er Your Jesus is embarrassed of you for your sins according to the bible. And I think you worship a peanut wizard not Jesus anyway so your thoughts are irrelevant.
@cda76er trolling a gay related post for weeks on end doesn't mean anything weird or anything like that. I am sure anyone who is doing this is doing it because they want to be good Christians or something like that. Nothing weird about it at all. Cough...cough...cough
@josh1492 Are you saying that Christians are not allowed to reach out to homosexuals? You're implying that I am one, probably because you believe the ridiculous notion that most Christians who speak out against homosexuality are closet homosexuals. Is it so impossible for you to understand that many of us believe that the current trend of encouraging people with homosexual tendencies to develop & celebrate their sexuality is incredibly damaging to them both in this life & the next?
@josh1492 Fortunately most aren't as hateful as you are. But I believe that your strong reaction shows that you know deep down inside that the Christian position is correct. I pray that you will one day see that what you now think is the worst thing you could do is actually the best - to repent of your sins & believe in the Savior (as I did almost 30 years ago). It could even be today.
@000FoxSnake000 No, it's on their own. You need to ask yourself why the rate of bullying & suicides has gone up dramatically in the past few years at exactly the same time that the pro-LGBT movement has made more apparent progress than ever. As one who was bullied as a child, I now realize that I allowed myself to be bullied because of a lack of self-confidence due to hidden guilt & shame, guilt & shame which come from God, not man. Encouraging & celebrating sexual sin only makes it worse.
@cda76er Stop telling other people to repent. Just let them live their life, it is none of your business. Not everyone believes in your god. Get over it.
@mojo12345ist I have no desire to stop other people from living their lives, but this campaign is seeks to shut out the Christian perspective - something we cannot allow. Just because someone doesn't believe in the God of the Bible does not mean that He doesn't exist. We believe everyone already knows He exists but most people don't want to acknowledge this because they don't want to give up the control over their lives that they think they have. But your very next breath depends on Him.
@cda76er just saying there are ppl killing themselves but just bc ur too prideful of ur religon its an anti-chritian act? im catholic and i think this is one of the best PSAs ive seen
@54321vlogs I appreciate that you seem to be considering what I am saying & are not like so many today who just pre-judge it as hateful. This is prejudicial in the purest sense of the term. You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but so am I. The fact is that I am deeply saddened by the rise in youth suicides, but I believe that the supposed cure has only made it worse. And what makes something "Christian" is that it is consistent with what Christ taught & did and He upheld the OT Law.
@cda76er well Christ taught "turn the other cheek" NOBODY these days does that so just because a christian supports acceptence of gays doesnt mean im not a Christian.
@cda76er The "Christian perspective" you speak of is hateful, backwards and discriminatory. This campaign wants to help gays who have been bullied and teach them to accept themselves. Meanwhile Christians are sending gay people to therapy and making them feel horrible about what they are. Thats what leads to gay suicides.
@mojo12345is You call my view hateful simply because it disagrees with yours. This is hateful on your part. I have no desire to stop pro-LGBT'ers from expressing themselves. I simply wish to do the same in order to give people a chance to hear another perspective on homosexuality, one which the LGBT movement wants to eradicate. My hope is that God may use my efforts to help some who want forgiveness & liberation from the misery of their affliction, which no amount of support will ever do.
@cda76er No, I'm I'm pretty sure holding signs saying "God hates fags", preventing gays from serving in the military, preventing them from getting the same legal benefits of straight couples, telling them they're gonna go to hell, preventing them from adopting children, and preventing them from being who they are is hateful. Stop beating around the bush. Your message is hateful. I believe you have the right to express your opinion, but that doesn't change the fact that it's hateful.
@mojo12345ist I detest the Westboro Baptist ("God hates fags") message just as much as you do, perhaps even more because people mistake this for the true Christian position, but, for you to say that my message is hateful is actually to judge my motives, which is really what Jesus warned us not to do. I do not judge your motives or anyone else's on the pro-LGBT side, only actions & beliefs (which all of us must do). I know many pro-LGBT'ers are good-hearted, but have bought into a bad program.
@000FoxSnake000 Don't be ridiculous. Christians believe that the Old Testament code is no longer in effect. However, the old laws were temporarily given to Israel by God & show that homosexuality is sinful, as the New Testament also clearly indicates (Romans 1:26-27 & I Corinthians 6:9). I expect that, like many today, you simply want to mock the belief of millions of Christians for the past 2000 years & not actually consider that they might be right. But this is a huge mistake on your part.
@cda76er Well that's great that you believe in something so evil that affects peoples lives in a negative way. I can tell by your posts that you are very defensive, you've been on this thread for weeks, and you seem way more out of touch than almost everyone on this thread. That makes you less credible and stupid. I used to be a christian but its people like you who have turned me and many others away from god and religion. You sure are a saint, I'm sure god will be very happy with yourdecisions
@000FoxSnake000 You should realize that what you have just posted is simply a personal attack because you can't really answer my arguments. If someone wants to engage in dialogue then I will respond. Unfortunately, most people just want to engage in name-calling & condemnation. I have never condemned anyone. I have only said that their position is wrong. It's not people like me who have turned you away. You just don't like what we believe. That's your privilege, but we also can do the same
@000FoxSnake000 Glad you're going to the Scriptures. A minority of Christians do hold that the entire OT Law is still in effect & this verse (actually 17&18) seems to say this. But, it can also be understood as Jesus saying that He had come to fulfill the Law through His obedience in His earthly life, in which He alone was able to keep the Law, and through His death, by which He paid the penalty for our failure to keep the Law. This was & remains the purpose of the Law. (See Galatians 3-4.)
@cda76er I took a lot of time to think about what you said to fully comprehend it, and I see exactly what you mean, and I agree with you. If Jesus has fulfilled these old testament laws then this would also mean that the rule on homosexuality would also be fulfilled along with the other rules. I don't want it to sound like I'm twisting your words, but that is what you mean when you say the old testament laws died with him. I hope you understand what I'm trying to say.
@000FoxSnake000 The OT law is no longer in effect, but this does not mean it is no longer sinful. Romans 1:26-27 & I Corinthians 6:9 both indicate that it is still sinful. The 1st text also makes clear that what is wrong with homosexuality is that it is a rejection of heterosexuality, so it is not a supposed pagan cultic association that made it wrong. Romans 6-7 says that Christians are not under the Law but progressively fulfill the righteousness of

Alexandre73193 3 months ago
@Alexandre73193 Yeah, except that it doesn't work like that. i seriously doubt the Giants were like "Hey, this Youtube user is having a hard time, but we're going to tell him otherwise anyway!" You're not that important, I'm afraid.
scajk29 3 months ago
@scajk29 You love to argue, don't you? And I know I am not that important; why would you be afraid of that?
Alexandre73193 3 months ago
@Alexandre73193 Lol sorry. I'm not going to let obviously false information get spewed. My motivations are none of your business.
And I'm afraid of what? Now you're not even making sense. Considering how you seem to be a giant self-loather, it's pretty ironic that you'd say that.
scajk29 3 months ago
@scajk29 "You're not that important, I'm afraid." Your words. Why would you be afraid of that? I am just curious.
And saying that "It Gets Better" is like saying "There's a God." < (imo) One could argue both until damn doomsday.
Alexandre73193 3 months ago
@Alexandre73193 It's called an expression, bud. Learn it. Mostly comes from an "I don't want to tell you this, but..." if you really are that ignorant.
And you're free to scream that the IGBP is some sort of great conspiracy all you want, that doesn't make it true. There are more people in the world than just you, so get used to it.

@scajk29 Wow, you really got me there. I seriously thought I was the only one in this world. Good to know there are others.

Good job.
avalonspawn 8 months ago
@cda76er Right... Took you long to come up with that? NO scholar uses Wikipedia, which you misspelled twice by the way... totally Duke material there. And considering I cited REAL citations that oppose your "universally-accepted facts", they are not so universally-accepted now are they? It is very obvious you are lying, and you do realize that YOU believe you go to Hell for telling lies, right? Shame, Shame, Shame...
avalonspawn 8 months ago
@cda76er Of course, with your Wikipedia inspired degree, you might have missed some of that info.
avalonspawn 8 months ago
@avalonspawn OK, one more reply since you are such an obnoxious, ignorant & arrogant mocker. My degrees are a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Duke University & a Master of Divinity from Westminster Theological Seminary. I could care less if you don't believe me, but I do hope you will one day realize you are fighting on the wrong side and come over to God's side. It is your supposed "scholarship" that is a joke, though, because it neglects universally-accepted facts (as Wikapedia shows).
cda76er 8 months ago
@cda76er The only manuscripts that were kept by the Church were those that were used during the revision of the Bible. There are other manuscripts that are out there, but they completely contradict the Bible. Such as the story of Judas having never betrayed Jesus, and many others. And I have read up on some of them. But they do nothing for your point, what the Church was able to get their hands on that contradicted the Bible were burned. There are even mentions of Satan planting them. lol.
avalonspawn 8 months ago
@cda76er wow... you state that you majored in ANYTHING and you are quoting Wikipedia as your source? Oh yeah, there is totally the Bible scholars "scholarly" answer. You can write whatever you want on there and say it's true! Great job...
avalonspawn 8 months ago
@cda76er And it is amazing how Bible scholars miraculously pulled those original scriptures out of the fire. Since most of them were burned. And I do not see anyone following the few documents which were originally found. The most accurate Bible is the King James version which as been altered 5 times and that does not even include it's being translated at least 5 individual times... rendering it as real and accurate as your supposed major.
avalonspawn 8 months ago
@avalonspawn Where do you get this nonsense? We have 100's of manuscripts that pre-date the Council of Trent. In fact the Bible is by far the most documented ancient text that there is. Check the Wikapedia article: "Biblical Manuscripts" to get a good summary. I will not continue this exchange with you any further because you clearly have no interest in learning about anything that challenges your own narrow, arrogant & hateful perspective. You are guilty of what you accuse me of, not me.
cda76er 8 months ago

Since so many Christians out there cannot seem to accept the fact that not everyone conforms to bigoted, murderous, and politically controlled religion.
avalonspawn 8 months ago
@avalonspawn You may choose not to believe in God, but what if you're wrong? The Bible says that everyone knows God, but resists Him due to sin. Christianity is not about religion & church. It's about living in relationship with the God who made you, sustains your life every moment and became a man in order to restore you to relationship with Him. Unfortunately, you have been deceived into thinking that what is really the best thing a person can do - to turn to the Only True God, is the worst
cda76er 8 months ago
@cda76er So... now where are your citations. And yes, I will look them up and read them, so you better post real ones. I do not appreciate liers pushing any agenda's, religious or not, by making facts up as they please.
avalonspawn 8 months ago
@avalonspawn I think you need to read your own history text more carefully. Doesn't it say that the Council of Trent happened after the Protestant Reformation & is rejected by all Protestants? You are correct about 1 thing - the Roman Catholic Church did attempt to control the Scriptures. But, the Reformation & Renaissance led to the return to the study of the Scriptures in the original languages & translation into modern languages. This is what modern Bible scholars do.
cda76er 8 months ago
@cda76er My Western Civilizations text book, where I originally learned how incredibly politicaly corrupt the Church and the Bible really were/are and that the Bible had been edited many times including the Council of Trent: "Western Civilizations, 11th edition; Standish Meacham, Edward McNall Burns, Robert E. Lerner; ISBN-13: 9780393956573". So you can take that masters that you lied about and shove it... that or you REALLY need to do your homework. Oh, and fuck your prejudiced fake God.
avalonspawn 8 months ago
History 101 book soon.
avalonspawn 8 months ago
@cda76er And homosexuals are not ignorant of Christian perspective. We just don't believe it, or care what you believe. We are very well aware of what YOU believe, we just do not agree. That does not equate to ignorance. However, you pushing your prejudiced beliefs does make you a bigot. And your lying by making things up to prove your religious beliefs which are very untrue makes you as much a sinner as homosexual that you fear so much. I pity you for living in such prejudice and fear.
avalonspawn 8 months ago
@cda76er That is funny considering you responded to the post in which I cited "Cross, F. L., ed. The Oxford Dictionary of the Christian Church (Oxford University Press 2005 ISBN 978-0-19-280290-3), article Trent, Council of". And everything I have stated was even covered in basic western civilizations 101, it is very common knowledge and you need to do your research. For a supposed master in the subject you are very ignorant of basic Christian history... where all scholars disagree with you.
avalonspawn 8 months ago
@MsBataclan Your post speaks for itself and for yourself. Another great example of intelligence & tolerance!
cda76er 8 months ago
@cda76er and yes, I do know how you feel about the pro-LGBT movement. You are afraid that people you are prejudiced against will actually be treated equal and that you have to face the reality that we exist. Just like people exactly like you feared that blacks would have rights, and how you feared women would have rights, and that you are not held high above everyone else because your god dictates that your male white self is perfect. I just don't approve.
avalonspawn 8 months ago
@avalonspawn You're the one who isn't willing to consider that there is another perspective on these matters because you are so certain that you are right. This is actually prejudice on your part. As are your personal attacks on me. I used to be the same way, until God opened my eyes. May He do the same for you before it is too late. He exists whether you believe in Him or not. I believe you already know this in your heart. It's just that you are afraid of Him, but you don't have to be.
cda76er 8 months ago
@cda76er Homosexuality is ok, I do not need to convince myself of anything. I never said it is smiled upon by God... I do not believe in your God so that is a completely moot point, and I am not under any obligation to believe in your false idol. It is perfectly fine for you to think whatever you want religiously, I strongly feel that your beliefs should not influence government into suppressing other believes, religions, and or cultures. You have NO right to dictate my belief system.
avalonspawn 8 months ago
@cda76er I made factual statements and backed them up with scholarly articles. I have seen nothing of the sort from you. By posting what you would like to believe, which is not true, you are lying... which is as much of a sin as homosexuality in your precious Bible. I do not believe that you have a masters relating to theology, because you have made multiple false statements and didn't even know what the Council of Trent was about. It is people like you who give Christianity a bad name.
avalonspawn 8 months ago
@avalonspawn I don't recall seeing any scholar articles from you in this thread. You made a claim about the Council of Trent which you probably saw in Dan Brown's fictional novel or some other pop conspiracy theory article. Sorry, this is not scholarship. You are going to believe what you want to believe. But, in the end, what matters is what is true. I am not going to go around & around with you because you obviously are ignorant of the most basic facts of Biblical studies & Church history
cda76er 8 months ago
@cda76er Just because most homosexuals do not want to be Christian does not make them intolerant. It means they have different beliefs than you do. Your believing that every person has to be Christian and obey Christian law makes YOU intolerant. By trying to force your religious beliefs on others, whether it is through badgering them to death with your preaching, or by forcing your Christian laws through the Government system, makes you intolerant. You are simply here to be a bigot. So stop.
avalonspawn 8 months ago
@avalonspawn Homosexuals are intolerant when they seek to shut out the traditional Christian perspective. I never said that every person has to be a Christian, nor do I support laws which seek to get non-Christians to live as Christians. And it is not possible for one to force beliefs on another, although people can sometimes be persuaded to change their beliefs at times through dialogue. This is what I am seeking to do. It's called free speech, dude. And you saying "stop" is intolerant.
cda76er 8 months ago
@avalonspawn You & those on your side need to understand how we Christians see the pro-LGBT movement - as one that does incredible damage to those it purports to help. Trying to convince yourself that homosexual activity is OK or, even, smiled upon by God is a delusion that will only lead to misery & destruction in the end. It is very much like someone driving down a road in which a bridge over a deep canyon is out who ignores warnings about it and refuses even to believe a map that shows this
cda76er 8 months ago
@cda76er The Bible was taken from original texts, translated into Latin and the original documents destroyed or hidden. The Church tried to keep any other version other than Latin from every appearing because it would undermine the need for people to have the church translate it to the common people. All of the current versions of the Bible are translations of the Latin version. So yeah... you are arguing a point from an altered and biased version. You really need to read your history dude.
avalonspawn 8 months ago

This is why I am opposing it.
cda76er 8 months ago
@cda76er My reply is clearly ridiculously late, but I plan on saying my peace. First off, IF you trusted in the Bible, you wouldn't have started your comment with "if the Bible is truly the word of God" - so way to discredit yourself right outta the gate. Secondly, my comment did not say "do we have to agree with the Bible" or "where does that put us"... it asked where the Bible taught hatred against diversity; it doesn't. This is a message to promote life and MY GOD teaches that to be good...
SeraphSoldier 2 months ago
@SeraphSoldier
It's funny how almost no one is arguing for celebrating pedophilia or prostitution (which is mutually-consented).
cda76er 2 months ago
@cda76er @cda76er Neither Pedophilia or Prostitution involve real, loving, consensual or non-abusive relationships. Being gay doesn't make you any less of a person.
As for the Bible, verses most people use against homosexuality are largely taken out of context for that time.
Xalgen 3 weeks ago
@Xalgen

@shaunross17

@cda76er no fuck you you are the bigot God makes no mistakes he created people that way so stfu

MBostonification 8 months ago

It is 100% fine if you think it is a sin, but the moment you treat the most flamboyant gay with disrespect you have broken gods laws.
avalonspawn 8 months ago
@ cda76er "Pope Clement VIII issued in 1592 a revised edition of the Vulgate.[4]" Cross, F. L., ed. The Oxford Dictionary of the Christian Church (Oxford University Press 2005 ISBN 978-0-19-280290-3), article Trent, Council of. Oh, and in case you are not up to par, the Vulgate was the 4th revision of the bible... and every biblical scholar knows this to be fact. Now, if you were talking about theologists and not actual historians which might make your statement more accurate. Thanks!
avalonspawn 8 months ago
@avalonspawn Nice try, but the Vulgate is only a Latin translation of the Bible in the original languages of Hebrew, Aramaic & Greek. It is the original text that I was referring to. Bible scholars/historians learn the original languages in order to study the Bible, just as any scholar who wishes to study original texts. And there is amazing agreement among these scholars that we have virtually all of the original text of the Bible, even though these scholars have widely differing theologies.
cda76er 8 months ago
It is also FACT that the bible was re-written at the council of Trent so all the verses that you are referencing were not words of god, but of men... powerful, greedy, very sinful men who bought their position. So yeah... who gives a damn what your scripture has to say?
avalonspawn 8 months ago
@avalonspawn That is clearly something that you heard from someone else. The Council of Trent had nothing whatsoever to do with "re-writing" the Bible. Look it up. The fact is that virtually all serious scholars of the Bible recognize that we know what the Bible says with only minor discrepancies. What is not agreed upon is what it means.
cda76er 8 months ago
@cda76er You are obviously just here to troll. No gays want you to tell them about Christianity. Please follow the golden rule and leave us alone... unless you would like to be badgered by Muslims trying to convert you to their beliefs. You wouldn't like it? Neither do we. Give aid to those who want it, sure. Believe it is a religious sin, fine... we are honestly ok with that. Use religious believes to influence government and make us out to be sub-human... THAT we are not ok with.
avalonspawn 8 months ago
@avalonspawn On the contrary, you may not want to hear it, but there are homosexuals who want to hear the Gospel, as the Exodus International ministry proves. Of course, many in the LGBT community want to shut out Exodus (as the recent campaign to remove Exodus from the ITunes store shows). But, whoever wants to shut out the historic Christian perspective is every bit as intolerant as the most intolerant anti-homosexual. I don't like to be "badgered", but what I am doing here is not badgering

josh1492 8 months ago
@josh1492 I know Whom I have believed in. Your Jesus is not the Jesus of the Bible if you think He celebrates what is unquestionably sexual sin according to the Bible. I hope that you see your error before it is too late & He says to you:"Depart from Me for I never knew you." (Matthew 7:21-23 - "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord', will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in Heaven. . .")
cda76er 8 months ago
@cda76er Your Jesus is embarrassed of you for your sins according to the bible. And I think you worship a peanut wizard not Jesus anyway so your thoughts are irrelevant.
josh1492 8 months ago
@cda76er trolling a gay related post for weeks on end doesn't mean anything weird or anything like that. I am sure anyone who is doing this is doing it because they want to be good Christians or something like that. Nothing weird about it at all. Cough...cough...cough
josh1492 8 months ago
@josh1492 Are you saying that Christians are not allowed to reach out to homosexuals? You're implying that I am one, probably because you believe the ridiculous notion that most Christians who speak out against homosexuality are closet homosexuals. Is it so impossible for you to understand that many of us believe that the current trend of encouraging people with homosexual tendencies to develop & celebrate their sexuality is incredibly damaging to them both in this life & the next?
cda76er 8 months ago
@cda76er Yes you should stay as far away as humanly possible because we detest you. If I saw you in RL i would use a gun.
josh1492 8 months ago
@josh1492 Fortunately most aren't as hateful as you are. But I believe that your strong reaction shows that you know deep down inside that the Christian position is correct. I pray that you will one day see that what you now think is the worst thing you could do is actually the best - to repent of your sins & believe in the Savior (as I did almost 30 years ago). It could even be today.

000FoxSnake000 8 months ago
@000FoxSnake000 No, it's on their own. You need to ask yourself why the rate of bullying & suicides has gone up dramatically in the past few years at exactly the same time that the pro-LGBT movement has made more apparent progress than ever. As one who was bullied as a child, I now realize that I allowed myself to be bullied because of a lack of self-confidence due to hidden guilt & shame, guilt & shame which come from God, not man. Encouraging & celebrating sexual sin only makes it worse.
cda76er 8 months ago
@cda76er Stop telling other people to repent. Just let them live their life, it is none of your business. Not everyone believes in your god. Get over it.
mojo12345ist 8 months ago
@mojo12345ist I have no desire to stop other people from living their lives, but this campaign is seeks to shut out the Christian perspective - something we cannot allow. Just because someone doesn't believe in the God of the Bible does not mean that He doesn't exist. We believe everyone already knows He exists but most people don't want to acknowledge this because they don't want to give up the control over their lives that they think they have. But your very next breath depends on Him.

54321vlogs 8 months ago
@54321vlogs I appreciate that you seem to be considering what I am saying & are not like so many today who just pre-judge it as hateful. This is prejudicial in the purest sense of the term. You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but so am I. The fact is that I am deeply saddened by the rise in youth suicides, but I believe that the supposed cure has only made it worse. And what makes something "Christian" is that it is consistent with what Christ taught & did and He upheld the OT Law.
cda76er 8 months ago
@cda76er well Christ taught "turn the other cheek" NOBODY these days does that so just because a christian supports acceptence of gays doesnt mean im not a Christian.
54321vlogs 8 months ago
@cda76er The "Christian perspective" you speak of is hateful, backwards and discriminatory. This campaign wants to help gays who have been bullied and teach them to accept themselves. Meanwhile Christians are sending gay people to therapy and making them feel horrible about what they are. Thats what leads to gay suicides.
mojo12345ist 8 months ago
@mojo12345is You call my view hateful simply because it disagrees with yours. This is hateful on your part. I have no desire to stop pro-LGBT'ers from expressing themselves. I simply wish to do the same in order to give people a chance to hear another perspective on homosexuality, one which the LGBT movement wants to eradicate. My hope is that God may use my efforts to help some who want forgiveness & liberation from the misery of their affliction, which no amount of support will ever do.
cda76er 8 months ago
@cda76er No, I'm I'm pretty sure holding signs saying "God hates fags", preventing gays from serving in the military, preventing them from getting the same legal benefits of straight couples, telling them they're gonna go to hell, preventing them from adopting children, and preventing them from being who they are is hateful. Stop beating around the bush. Your message is hateful. I believe you have the right to express your opinion, but that doesn't change the fact that it's hateful.
mojo12345ist 8 months ago
@mojo12345ist I detest the Westboro Baptist ("God hates fags") message just as much as you do, perhaps even more because people mistake this for the true Christian position, but, for you to say that my message is hateful is actually to judge my motives, which is really what Jesus warned us not to do. I do not judge your motives or anyone else's on the pro-LGBT side, only actions & beliefs (which all of us must do). I know many pro-LGBT'ers are good-hearted, but have bought into a bad program.
cda76er 8 months ago
@cda76er 1 question. Do you follow all of the other laws in Leviticus too?
000FoxSnake000 8 months ago
@000FoxSnake000 Don't be ridiculous. Christians believe that the Old Testament code is no longer in effect. However, the old laws were temporarily given to Israel by God & show that homosexuality is sinful, as the New Testament also clearly indicates (Romans 1:26-27 & I Corinthians 6:9). I expect that, like many today, you simply want to mock the belief of millions of Christians for the past 2000 years & not actually consider that they might be right. But this is a huge mistake on your part.
cda76er 8 months ago
@cda76er Well that's great that you believe in something so evil that affects peoples lives in a negative way. I can tell by your posts that you are very defensive, you've been on this thread for weeks, and you seem way more out of touch than almost everyone on this thread. That makes you less credible and stupid. I used to be a christian but its people like you who have turned me and many others away from god and religion. You sure are a saint, I'm sure god will be very happy with yourdecisions
000FoxSnake000 8 months ago
@000FoxSnake000 You should realize that what you have just posted is simply a personal attack because you can't really answer my arguments. If someone wants to engage in dialogue then I will respond. Unfortunately, most people just want to engage in name-calling & condemnation. I have never condemned anyone. I have only said that their position is wrong. It's not people like me who have turned you away. You just don't like what we believe. That's your privilege, but we also can do the same
cda76er 8 months ago
@cda76er PS: you dont know what you're talking about in regards to the code no longer being in effect. Check Matthew 5:17. It's very clear.
000FoxSnake000 8 months ago
@000FoxSnake000 Glad you're going to the Scriptures. A minority of Christians do hold that the entire OT Law is still in effect & this verse (actually 17&18) seems to say this. But, it can also be understood as Jesus saying that He had come to fulfill the Law through His obedience in His earthly life, in which He alone was able to keep the Law, and through His death, by which He paid the penalty for our failure to keep the Law. This was & remains the purpose of the Law. (See Galatians 3-4.)
cda76er 8 months ago
@cda76er I took a lot of time to think about what you said to fully comprehend it, and I see exactly what you mean, and I agree with you. If Jesus has fulfilled these old testament laws then this would also mean that the rule on homosexuality would also be fulfilled along with the other rules. I don't want it to sound like I'm twisting your words, but that is what you mean when you say the old testament laws died with him. I hope you understand what I'm trying to say.
000FoxSnake000 8 months ago
@000FoxSnake000 The OT law is no longer in effect, but this does not mean it is no longer sinful. Romans 1:26-27 & I Corinthians 6:9 both indicate that it is still sinful. The 1st text also makes clear that what is wrong with homosexuality is that it is a rejection of heterosexuality, so it is not a supposed pagan cultic association that made it wrong. Romans 6-7 says that Christians are not under the Law but progressively fulfill the righteousness of
