  • Great playing and arranging!

  • It certainly impresses me to receive a comment from such a master guitarist. Thank you, Daddystovepipe!

  • Hi Tamborr,

I like your guitar playing, thanks for posting!

One think that strikes me about your playing style is that all bass notes sound muted, why?

Do you mute the note with your hands, or do you use special strings?

  • Thank you, Ninegert! You're absoluitely right: I mute the bass strings with my right hand - and I compensate by striking the strings harder. It is not a very orthodox style, I'm afraid.

  • Tamborr, I've been a subscriber for some time: I, a fellow Great American Songbook enthusiast, love your material -- and the manner in which it is played. Contrary to the youtube handle, I too am a fingerstyle jazz guitarist. As Lester Young so famously said, "You got to be original, man!" It's great to hear someone who follows this dictum.

  • Thank you so much, Trombonology! Your guitarist's opinion matters to me, all the more so as you love the original material - the songs I sometimes slaughter with my guitar...

  • Hi Tamborr. Do you have tab for your music! Or do you just work them as your own arrngements?

    Sure sound good.

  • Thanks again, Hypnosync1. If I were able to work with tabs, I would be able to improve my playing, instead of repeating the same songs... I work by ear, and I've learnt the basics of thumb-picking thanks to a dvd tutorial
