Not really. I understand transcription perfectly fine. All you do in genetic engineering is change one specific gene so it transcribes another protein. Not hundreds of new expressions. Also, nutrients in the food are based on many factors, the most important ones being the fertilizer used and the soil on which the plants grow. You don't take into account that the Australian soil for example is wildly different from the American. Most studies are manipulated by lobbyists anyway.

in North America only around 25% of grain produce is actually consumed, the rest goes into producing the thousands of things that can be produce from grain, they can alter the crops to produce a better product.

Intensive farming methods have depleted the sub-soil of nutrients, trace elements and life; GM will not help this. When there are more nutrients in the food to begin with, less is needed for the same benefits.

No independent tests of GE food have shown it to be safe, not a single one. What has been shown is that GE food results in tumors, sterility, lesions, and premature death. Yet, these test results are totally ignored by the FDA and the USDA. Not really. I understand transcription perfectly fine. All you do in genetic engineering is change one specific gene so it transcribes another protein. Not hundreds of new expressions. Also, nutrients in the food are based on many factors, the most important ones being the fertilizer used and the soil on which the plants grow. You don't take into account that the Australian soil for example is wildly different from the American. Most studies are manipulated by lobbyists anyway.

A change in diet for example can change several gene expressions. Like I said, changing a gene or even a snp can change multiple gene expressions and there is no way to predict the outcome of hundreds of changes in gene expression. Australian studies also show nutrient increases in organic compared to conventional food.

It is impossible to predict the effect of changing hundreds of gene expressions. Most studies suggest organic farming on average increases nutrients in most crops. Unlike GM crops which have had very little health testing, there have been hundreds of thousands of health studies on non-gm crops agriculturally grown for food.

Way to absolutely dodge my original argument. I didn't even say that changing "hundreds of genes" was a good thing. Fact is, changing as much as one tiny gene can actually make the whole organism immune to bugs or disease. As for nutrients in most crops, poor people can't afford to plant anything else than rice, which, as nature would have it, is poor in vitamins or proteins. Now, adding a gene that makes the rice produce additional vitamins is, in fact, not bad for you.

There is more to food than simply quantity. Wholesome food will make you healthy and toxic food will make you sick - period. GMO food is anything but wholesome, as we now know thanks to the likes of Dr. Don Huber, who is trying to let people know about a newly identified "hitchhiker pathogen" now found in GMO fields, and the potential link it may have to animal sterility. The whole point here is that we were doing a better job 100 years ago in producing wholesome food for healthy people.

in North America only around 25% of grain produce is actually consumed, the rest goes into producing the thousands of things that can be produce from grain, they can alter the crops to produce a better product.
you know what happens when you dont use GM plants? farmers use much more massive amounts of fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides and other chemicals to attempt the same yields as crops without any built in immunities.
There as not yet been ANY finding of negative effects on the human body.

When you mess around with gene splicing, the result is mutated genes. Once the gene sequence has been disrupted, no one knows what the long-term effects will be and further mutation is totally plausible! Monsanto is playing GOD and no one has the right to do that! Because weeds are becoming resistant to glyphosphate (roundup), the crops are being sprayed with many times the amount of herbicide and people are ingesting these poisons! Read the labels! Most food isn't even food anymore! POISONS!

Genetic modification has no benefits.
Intensive farming methods have depleted the sub-soil of nutrients, trace elements and life; GM will not help this. When there are more nutrients in the food to begin with, less is needed for the same benefits.
There is already enough food production, it's just that the distribution is incorrect.
