  • What happened to Stargate after season one It got lost on the personal life things

  • @srblackbird1

Wow you have a long time to catch up. Stargate SG-1 continued on for ten seasons and two direct to DVD movies Ark of Truth and Continuum with two other spin off shows Stargate Atlantis of five seasons and two seasons of Stargate Universe. As of 2011 there are no more Stargate projects in continuation are planned.

  • @halfvulcan in the film canon ra was a humanoid alien, the last of his race. who built the stargate etc and brought people there

there are 3-5 sequel novels based on the film.

  • @jopeon1983 he wasn't humanoid, he used human bodies.

  • Hey guys, watch the ''Ancient Aliens'' show, the Stargate is totally based on these ''facts''

  • in real life i mean

  • i love this tv show wish there was a stargate

    '

  • 3 people are goa'ulds

  • wonderfull stargate sg1. i love so muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch

  • FINALLY, that awful television series is dieing down and emmerich and devlin are preparing to revive this film into a trilogy... let's fucking do this!

  • @smo699 amen brother!!

  • @smo699 I haven't heard any news on the trilogy revival for years now :( I so wish they will carry it through now that Stargate franchise is bankrupt in MGM

  • Fucking Stardoors. Never drive a van through it.

  • This theme is incredible!! Love it!! makes me feel like I'm there and discovered a great discovery! Love it thx for uploading it!!

  • Stargate to nie serial, to stan umysłu!

  • stargate universe is really stupid goes off main topic i love stargate movie,sg-1,and atlantis. But universe is stupid it sucks.

  • i dreamed that i discovered ancient city...and this music was in backround. i dont know why.

  • @Flyod993 ...

  • the film and the series are in a different league altogether, the award for the score goes to the film me thinks. if stargate series got the same budget as the film for each episode then it would be in the same league if not better

  • stargaaaaaaate its great big world, with a great big swirl and you step inside to another world, were talkin stargaaaaaate its a crazy trip you can go quite far and you dont need a car or even a ship. theres colonel oniell and carter and daniel and toulc....look out for that GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGOULD

  • i own the movie and love the show! the theme from the movie isnt the same from the show. gibertfilms should actually listen to the theme for stargate sg1, then revise the description for this video.

  • There is no 2:41

  • Excellent.

  • Someone ought to comment on the compositional skill of Arnold which provides the film with the right mood/tone. Listen to the horn counterpoint and clever use of the choir rather than bitch fighting about film-vs-SG1

  • Movie was way better than the TV show. Owned.

  • Movie was way better than the TV show. Owned.

  • i love EGYPTION mythology!! which means.. i also luv this movie

  • I don't really keep track of the TV show, but What's with SG-1 fans who hate the film? That makes no sense. That's like fans of a Batman movie who hate the comics.

  • Natural Goa'uld Voice -No Voice Synthesizer: watch?v=p1gpNM3AbYE

  • I need Stargate II the movie.

  • I was a Go'uld once.

  • @RedStormCommingIn

    Just a narsist.

  • This is such a beautiful theme, it still makes me proud and fills me with love for SG-1. Imagine, when this theme was being written, nobody knew what a science fiction epic the Stargate legacy would become.

  • i looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove stargate.

  • Give my regards to King Tut, asshole! Jay Davidson was so beautiful.

  • @Messylin Your comment really made me LOL, I love that line!

  • Emmerich's best hands down.

  • @scarhunter92 I couldn't agree more!

  • SG1 and SGA are the best SG of the big World I love it

  • Stargate is an awsome movie i can't wait to see and hear it when i get my HD setup.

  • its Similar Song to Remember me (Troy) and some other songs which i can remember..!!

  • Awsome film this to me will always be the true Stargate, its sad to me the series has pretty much drowned out the series.

  • I was only 4 when I would watch this movie, and even then I loved it as much as my favorite cartoons. Just love the whole idea of exploration and other civilizations. :D

  • Thumbs up if you think Jack O'Niell made the series and movie great. I swear, he can't be beat.

  • I Love this Movie!

    David Arnold is Awesome!

    =D

  • The Movie was Great, can't say the same about the series, to me the TV series wasn't as good as the Movie.

  • i loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee stargate sg1. i see all seasons.

  • It has become clear that many here have strayed from the path of Hammond into the darkness of the shol'va Teal'c.

BE NOT THAT THE GREAT HAMMOND HAS BBQ THE SOL’VA FOR THEE? ONLY UPON THY EAT OF THE TEAL’CBURGER SHALL YOU TASTE FREEDOM!

Hammond is kind and blesses those who follow. Thou who do not is welcome to his BBQ, but they will be for to eat. They will be eat as the shol’va Teal’c is eated. Will you accept His offering, and feast upon the Teal'cburger?

AH, BLESS HAMMOND, FOR HE IS POWER.

  • The movie is great and the soundtrack is just fantastic! An I actually have to say that the TV show is good too. At least the first seasons are great.

  • roland emrich is intelligent very very very.

  • The movie is far far better than the TV show EVER was.

  • The movie was great, the series was and still is total crap. Nothing like the movie at all, macguyver sux and theres no emotion.

  • @badkss I swear you have that backwards. Kurt Russel spent most of the movie being the silent breeding badass who doesn't show emotion and had no sense of humor. Richard Dean Anderson was a snarky wise-ass with dry wit and good one liners who frequently got pissed off during his missions.

I like both as being separate yet equal. Like Transformers or Resident Evil and their movies. The only thing I didn't like about SG-1 was 4 different galaxies and only 5 non human alien species. IDIC my ass.

  • @Citrakite - I think they were both fantastic as O'Neill. Richard Dean Anderson played O'Neill as a man changed by what he saw on that first mission...Kurt Russell started off mourning his son's death and was suicidal, but realized that life was worth living (he realized that nothing could be solved by blowing up Abydos), and he wound up putting the bomb to good use. Besides, I think Anderson got his inspiration a sense of humor thanks to Kurt Russell and the "Chicken Man" scene in the movie.

  • @Citrakite ok you fucking geek haha

  • @badkss - Amen to that, buddy.

  • Call me crazy if you want but I've always imagined this as how a HAWKMAN MOVIE INTRO should be like ! LOL !

  • damn i gotta watch it again, but this time on blu ray!

  • I loved this movie...especially the music!!!!

  • @AllisonTheSNLGuru Same here... I even bought the soundtrack cd back then :)

  • @ninjatrixx - Cool, I downloaded the theme, but I want to get more of the music.

  • God i miss this show

  • Stargate is true, it really does exist, it takes you to the true meaning of life.

Ultimaty, when you view it from the highest dimension, there is no time and no space, there is no future and no past, it all is occuring in one fascinating moment of expression, but time is an illusion that has purpose.

  • @macktheknife888 Dude, there are treatment clinics for marijuana addicts. I suggest you visit your local rehab clinic.

  • the egypatian one is the best and started it all, the others were ok, but this is the one that really shined

  • Wow, just think where Stargate has come since the movie....amazing!

  • i think that they prob should, cause they need a new enemy for SG-1, although Samatha Carter is now in atlantis though

  • yeah i hope the series is cool but the films unrelated if theres a there were no other survivors in the film only ra and he came from galaxies away and possesed the boy with his soul or something they wrote books as sequels to the film but are rare but u can probs download them

  • Why would they make a sequel? It spawned 3 TV shows and a handful of TV movies. A new SG movie wouldn't be a direct sequel to this film.

Besides I don't see how there would be enough interest in another SG movie (outside the fanbase) to justify making one for the big screen. That is why there are a bunch of TV SG movies.

  • The original movie writers/directors didn't agree with or approve of the TV series and hated the direction that the spin-offs went. But then these are the same people that made the American Godzilla movie so screw them.

  • the best film of UFOs and SPace

  • Yup, thats true.

  • Best soundtrack ever

  • Yes, its the best soundtrack ever ;)

  • I stored my soul in the good moment of my life so no one can take it

  • colonel oneil in the series is my favorite

    everyone from the series rocks

  • nice

  • The fact that David Arnold is composing the music for 'The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader' makes my life. Combining Narnia with the dude who wrote the Stargate theme. EPIC. 2 of my fave things together...omg my life is complete!!!!!!!!!

  • I did not know about this. Now I see why I like so much the music from Stargate. I like the Narnia too.

  • The movie is miles better than the show

  • ahhh so beautyful :)

  • "Stargate" and the Westboro Baptist Church are both right: God IS our enemy!

  • Ra: ROfl imagonnapwnuall lololololololololololololololololol

O'Neil: Stfu! *sends the bomb to ras ship*

    Ra: ......... Mother fucker!

    *explosion*

    Ra: *pawnz0red*

  • LoL

  • Me gusta mas la pelicula que la serie, y su musica en orquesta tambien, muchisimo, la serie tambien solo que ya no mucho por que no pusieron a casi todos los de antes, pero bueno, la serie un poco, aun asi, ioro, es genial!!

    Deneida

  • ♥Stargate♥ the movie is still better than the series

  • Totally 100% AGREE :D, I JUST LOVE THE MOVIE !!!

  • Definately!! The movie is the best...the (unrelated) show sucks!!

  • The show continues after the movie, about ten or so years after.

Daniel Jackson is left on a planet full of dust which he is allergic to

  • The first episode of SG-1 is about a year after the movie.

  • it's only 1 year.

  • @Buzzwick250 - and Jack O'Neill is now retired and confesses to General Hammond (who has taken over for General West from the movie) that his report was not accurate. And in a show of solidarity, Ferretti, Kawalsky, and Brown (that was his name, right? I can't remember the black guy's name) get locked in a holding cell too and inform O'Neill that they said the same thing he said.

I like how O'Neill proves Daniel is alive in "Children of the Gods"...the tissue box scene cracks me up!

  • I like the movie a lot... but I have to say I like SG-1 better. SG-1 has MACGYVERRRRR. Also, how is the show unrelated? SG:A I can understand, but why SG-1?

  • LOL...McGyver.... True... I like Richard Dean Anderson.

  • Yeah man.. RDA IS THE SHIT. (Indeed, as Teal'c would say.)

  • No. Even Tarintino know Russel is king. You Fail.

  • russel is shit RDA rocks

  • @blackcat682 you understand wtf he is saying

  • Isn't that Akhenaten at the end? And has anyone else noticed how he has very Mongoloidic/Asiatic features?

  • that's not akhenaten. Akhenaten never wore a headdress like that. It was similar, but it never looked like that.

  • 1. You're saying that he's not Akhenaten based simply on the headdress he is wearing, even though their faces are identical. It's like giving precedence to the way a killer is dressed over a fingerprint.

    2. The face at the end is obviously of an Egyptian pharaoh, & I have not seen or know of any other Egyptian pharaoh--except Akhenaten--that even comes close to resembling that face.

    3. I've seen various pictures of Akhenaten wearing at least 6 different types of headdresses.

  • It isn't Akhenaten. Not just based on the headdress, but based on many other features as well. The statue doesn't even look human, it looks like an animal that resembles Anubis in a hollywood way. I am an expert on the Amarna era in Egyptian history, so I know everything there is to know about Akhenaten. And that statue isn't him.

  • Expert? ffaa, I used to go to school with the ol' boy. We all called him Akie, but when he wasn't around, we called him paste eater. He was little rich boy all through school and real pompous. But he was good at camel racing and could sail a barge like nobody's business so we kinda respected him at some level. Still ate paste all the way to like 9th grade...

  • The music score and the art direction of this movie make the new Star Wars movies look like a child's work.

  • This is a beautiful movie theme.

  • I just remembered something. Wasn't the idea of the movie stolen from some college student in 80's, a court case ensued, and it was settled out of court?

Given that this is true, Devlin and Emmerich stole from that person in a shameless act of petty crime. To think that the seed that paved the way for the TV franchise was formed out of greed and petty theft.

No wonder so many people hate these two; they're crappy moviemakers and greedy thieves.

  • Amazing!! David Arnold is one of the most interesting film composers in this days...

  • Totally. Also, he is probably one of the most unappreciated/underrated composers out there as well.

  • I love this movie. I find it to be popcorn fluff and extremely entertaining. When it comes to sci-fi films I don't generally expect oscar calibur screenplays. The TV show helped the concept live up to it's full potential. There's enough room in this world for both the film and series.

  • true. Even though it is a cheesy flick, it kind of captured that classic Star Wars/ Indiana Jones feel to it. Anything with desert settings, kick ass theme music, a sci fi angle and battles, and elaborate costumes always seems to work. Throw in some mysticsm and aliens I'm there.

  • I remember seeing this movie when it first came out in theatres vividly. It was such a magical experience and it remains one of my favorite movies. Watch this movie Hollywood. We need more movies like this and other classics like Jurrasic Park.

  • ohh yes that´s true ...

  • Being a huge fan of Stargate SG-1 I can't quite agree with you.

You cannot compae a movie to a TV show with 10 seasons.

A movie can follow a straight line without the constant fear of a possible cancelation.

There won't be a secons Emmerich film but many more SG-1 direct to DVD movies. That's how it works, it's the better way to make more money.

  • Comment removed

  • A great "escape" film. Immaginative and beautifully presented. Vivica Lindfors wonderful presence adds so much to the "class" of this film. She is so great! The movie is sexy and bold. 14 years have gone by?

  • I couldn't agree more! This film is a masterpiece which has been unfairly overshadowed by the far inferior TV spinoff.

  • damn right. thank god theyr not continuing sg1 with the second movie...

  • If you mean non-SG-1/SGA sequels to the original movie, that will never happen.

MGM says that SG-1 is the sequel to the movie, and since they own the rights to it, they make that decision. So therefore it is.

Devlin and Emmerich sold the rights to MGM in '94, and as much as they want to continue with their sequels, they lost the right to do so. They may be bitter, but this kind of thing is routine.

Just a part of doing business.

  • @Exalted1Obliteration - I think Lions Gate has some rights to the film as well, since the defunct Live Entertainment logo is also on the DVD, in addition to the MGM 70th Anniversary logo.

  • I agree with you, but the TV spinoffs, inferior or not, have kept on expanding in scope for 12 years.

It has also stood the test of time, perhaps even more than the movie that it is a sequel too. In the eyes of those who have seen the movie and the show, it is the reverse.

The movie is far inferior to the spinoffs as far as most people are concerned.

  • Unlikely. Ever since the movie came out, mainstream critics and audiences have panned the movie consistently for its pitiful writing, characterization, and thinness of plot.

From a standpoint of technical and artistic merit, the movie is a joke, just like all the work Emmerich and Devlin have done. They're seen as as talentless hacks who churn out crappy movies.

I like the movie, but at the same time I know garbage when I see it, and the movie is unrelentingly so.

  • Indeed.

  • Oh how I loved stargate. I've just watched the last episdoe! The very best SCiFi series. Pretty sad it's over.

  • There are two direct to dvd movies.

(Sorry if you've already knew about that.)

  • Already seen them! :)

Ark fo Truth and the Continuum

    And there's Stargate Atlantis

  • there is also a possible stargate: universe ;)

  • its a 100% sure mate

  • Yes it was pretty good, i still wonder where the connection to real life lies though...
