Why didn't he show the actual lighting of the fire and its initial spread???? People should see how quickly it goes up in flame.. how much time they would need to grab an extinguisher
Hi Tim. I MUST ask you this. I don't know if you remember, i'm a plumber, and electrician. I've watched all of your videos, and i'm really greatfull for your help. Anyway, I'd like to work with you, you know? You're a genious, all your tecniques, PERFECT, and I wanna know, would you like an assistant? Cuz i'm right on the edge to fly to US, and it'd be a pleasure to meet you =D
@TheAmarildo666 Thanks for the offer. I don't have, at this time, the opportunity you're looking for. Much of my time is spent writing or doing office work that's not all glory like you see in the videos.
Tim, thanks for sharing this with us. It does remind me of Chevy Chase's "Christmas Vacation". After the funny stuff, we must still remember how dangerous this can become
I notice that people seem to get their Christmas trees right after Thanksgiving. That's just way too long; that tree looks extremely dry with brown drooping branches. I used to buy my tree 1 or 2 days before Christmas, decorate it Christmas night & take it down after the Epiphany, the 12 days of Christmas. It was never up more than 2 weeks & watered 1 to 2 x's a day. Too expensive to buy one these days.
Wait 'til you see Part 2 of this video -- Tim rides around the trailer park on a stolen snowmobile, without his shirt, waving a half-empty bottle of Thunderbird, shouting, "Yee-haw!!", deftly evading the cops.
I don't our family has ever had a real Christmas tree, at least not that I can remember. Are you supposed to keep them in a pot of water like a plant?
@ppardee Bingo! Or have worn out lights that short out. Or have a kid grab a cigarette lighter that's on a side table. Or have someone bump a burning candle off a mantle into the tree. Use your imagination for possible ignition sources.

Dude. Didn't you watch Chevy Chase's Christmas Vacation? Of course it's going to go up in flames. Thanks for sharing for those of us that have not seen this movie.
We went with a fake tree a few years ago. Trees in our area were approaching $100-$120 each so we used it to get a fake one and just have to unpack it every year. It kinda sucks but I remember when trees were $20 and I just refuse to pay over $100 for a tree that I will toss out in a month.
Nice fire safety video Tim! Thanks for sharing! I saw mythbusters do something similar one time, but instead of a match they used Christmas lights that short out in a room full of hair spray or some common household flammable item.
Tim...you really need to rework your sound quality...all your videos need to be cranked wayyy up to hear,,then when I click to another video...POWWW..
@trunk516 We used a little Flip camera for this. It doesn't have a mic input. I was talking away from the camera so the sound pickup is horrible. You really don't need a sound track for this video. And you might work on your zero-tolerance policy for a New Year's Resolution. :-/ After all, you get to watch all this content for free, and then complain about it. Jeeeeesh.....

So, moral of the story... Don't set a burning match on a dry live tree in your house. Gotcha! :D

We see demonstrations like this every year around this time, but it's still frightening to watch.
