    Where did you do that?

Can you possibly have a website where international transport?

    Sorry for bad English! :)

  • Can it play US games?

  • @goatseman5000 veriton 2 can

  • that really expensiveeeeee

  • This system looks so beautiful. I mean look at the lights and everything when its on. Sooo perfect. I remember talking about this system in grade 8 and people said it was fake. None of us knew it was a real thing in Japan LOL

  • wow japanese boxart is a million times better than the US

  • Also, while playing game mode using Panasonic Q, You can turn it off and/or Press and hold the power button and the game mode is now in NTSC.

  • Just think. If this came out instead of the original Gamecube, think how much better and more popular it would be compared to the Bulky Xbox and quite annoying Ps22? :)

  • This is what Nintendo should have released for the cube in the rest of the world , they would have been in a better position

  • THIS MAKES ME WANT TO BUY GAMECUBE GAMES!

  • Where do you buy this? Can't find it on Amazon. And does it play gameboy advance games and ds games?

  • @vilane421 try ebay it's super rare and exspensive

  • @vilane421 eBay, most likely, or Craigslist. GBA games? Possibly, if the Game Boy Player is compatible. DS games? No, this came out before the DS even existed.

  • I swear to god it looks like a high tech toaster.

  • I got mine for less than $200

  • Thanks for the video. The Panasonic Q however wasn't released late in the Gamecubes life-cycle (it came out in 2001) but the real kicker was that was for Japan only. It didn't sell very well over there so it never came out anywhere else.

  • @sumo73 In America it came out late, evrey console nintendo makes comes out in japan then europe then America

  • @redsoup0276 > The Panasonic Q was never 'officially' released outside of Japan. If you got one then I guess it was imported or you bought it from someone who imported it.

Oh and mostly it's this order for releases Japan (1st) -> North America (2nd) -> Europe/Australasia (3rd). The NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, GB, GBC, GBA were all released in Japan first and it's only the Wii and DS (not DSi) which had a NA release first.

  • nintendo really set themselves up for people trying to hack wiis to play dvds and once they figure out how to they go ahead and do other things involving hackig

  • NES: Awesome

    SNES: Awesome

    N64: Good

    GC: Regular

  • They should have done that shit in the first place and the GameCube wouldn't have failed ;/ All and all though that looks like a pretty nice little system.

  • there is one on eBay right now for $750....Yea, I don't have that kind of pocket change....

  • did you have the 64DD??

  • I got a Q from Mega Media Exchange for $250 US. Lately they've been on Ebay going at around $500 - $800. It really stands out in a collection. It's much taller than just about any console I can think of, and that shiney metal plate on the front catches the eye.

  • im a huge cube fan...I would love one of these!

  • NICE!!!

  • does it only play japanese stuff or can it play american stuff 2

  • I think its jap, but if you buy softmodding equipment i'm sure you can use NTSC stuff.

  • only jap

  • I like the way it looks, but I wouldn't want to buy it.

  • dude you sound freaking tired

  • Awesome review Luke. I love watching these earlier vids of yours.

  • Ok This kicks the PS2's and Xboxs ASS.

  • u hav a nice library of games

  • You do know the Panasonic Q plays american gamecube games as well. I don't believe its region coded

  • All Gamecube games, yeah, but only Region 2 DVD's.

  • dude you have every gamers dream system from the past!

  • thats a crazy cube

  • That is the sexiest GameCube I have ever seen! I love that blue light and the fact that it plays DVDs. It's too bad my GameCube sits around collecting dust otherwise I would highly consider buying one of these. Awesome video.

  • u cud mod ur gamecube or have someone mod it or paint it or get a cool jewel then you could sell it or all of the above would make you like it more making you playi t again with ur friends.

  • Nice! I bet the cube would have sold better if it was more like that! Thanks for upload.

  • Very nice! I want that system.

  • This was one of the first Game Cube versions released, not a late model. It was available just three months after the regular GCN launch in Japan. At that time, it was a big deal to have a game system with an internal DVD player. This was the reason new units were originally so expensive. Once regular DVD players dropped in price, and PS2/XBOX became a little more accessible, the Q's price tag was too high for what it offered buyers. That is why the production run on this was ultimately so low.

  • Hm. I should have asked my japanese colleagues to bring me one of those on one of their visits to our R+D while I was working at Panasonic in Germany. :)

From what I read this contains the Panasonic RV31 (DVD-Player). Im not sure if our department did the RV31. We surely made the RV32. So it might be that the drive and DVD software they used for this was developed a couple of meters from my old cubicle.

Those were good times nonetheless. :)

  • Well, suprisingly the loading time doesn't seem any different.

  • LOL at 4:10 he already has a game cube :D

  • thanks for HQ video of Panasonic Q ;)

  • just looks like a little oven XD my father always wanted one GameCubeQ, but its almost impossible to find here in Brazil

  • Another cool looking system!

Paper sleeves to protect the plastic cases???

  • Could you use GQ games sold in the U.S. or no?

  • Maybe Panasonic will make the WiiQ (pronounced WEEK)

  • LOL, that is pretty creative man. That would be funny to see for sure

  • @lukemorse1 no offence that would be neat but the wii should have had dvd playback from the start

  • @TheGeek1028 probally not because game cube q failed horribly , but it be awesome if they did.

  • @TheGeek1028 Here's what I'm thinking:

I've heard of this thing by Phillips called the CD-i and Nintendo made some games for it. What if the Q could play CD-i games? I'm not a fan of Hotel Mario or those Zelda games for it, but I would just think it would be weird if Phillips told Panasonic to do that.

  • Could be based on changing climate I suppose too. When I used mine after a few years of sitting, the belt went bad but, could have been a situation were flux of extreme heat and cold could have done something to it. I was using a well insulated storage space to hold all my stuff for a while but maybe it wasn't that good.

  • I thought about keeping mine stashed away but, from my experience, this model in particular, the belt that opens the tray goes bad if you don't use it. Kept mine out of use for about 3 years then plugged it in to test it out and found that the belt that opened the tray ha formed around one of the pullies and made a bump which when I tried to open it, all I could hear was the motor turning. Replaced it and vowed to take out my machines at least once or twice a year for testing since then.

  • Hmm, that's interesting to hear. I bought mine back in 2005, made sure it worked, and its been sitting up on display ever since.

I just booted it up, and the belt looks fine.

  • Nice to see another You Tube user with such a beautiful system. Mine sits up for display, and will remain unused.

    Collectors item FTW.

  • bling bling!
