'Praeceptis salutaribus moniti, et divina institutione formati audemus dicere: Pater Noster, qui es in caelis, sancitfecetur nomen tuum, adveniat regnum tuum, fiat volutas tua, sicut in caelo et in terra. Panem Nostrum quotidinum da nobis hodie; et dimitte nobis debita nostra, sicut et nos dimittimus debitoribus nostris. Et ne nos iducas in tentationem, sed lebera nos a malo!
Dont make a mistake to think i am ignorant of the liturgy. I know it all. Its as boring as watching a cow graze. And full of idiotic idiosyncracies. The only purpose being to create some kind of awe of some all mighty that doesnt exist. The history of mankind is full of examples of folly and superstition.
It's remarkable the Faith of John XXIII, praying the Pater Noster... It's amazing.
PATER NOSTER qui es in caelis, sanctificetur nomen tuum. Adveniat regnum tuum. Fiat voluntas tua, sicut in caelo et in terra. Panem nostrum quotidianum da nobis hodie, et dimitte nobis debita nostra, sicut et nos dimittimus debitoribus nostris, et ne nos inducas in tentationem. Sed liberanos a malo. Amen.
PATER NOSTER, qui es in caelis, sanctificetur nomen tuum. Adveniat regnum tuum. Fiat voluntas tua, sicut in caelo et in terra. Panem nostrum quotidianum da nobis hodie, et dimitte nobis debita nostra sicut et nos dimittimus debitoribus nostris. Et ne nos inducas in tentationem, sed libera nos a malo.

I love to hear the voice of Joannes XXIII, the beloved Pope of my youth, blessed in the heavens. He is chanting the 'Pater Noster' out of his heart: 'Praeceptis salutaribus moniti, et divina institutione formati audemus dicere: Pater noster, qui es in coelis, santificetur nomen tuum, fiat voluntas sicut in coelo et in terra. Panem nostrum quotidianum da nobis hodie; et dimitte nobis debita nostra, sicut et nos dimittimus debitoribus nostris, etc.'
@lunafringe10 I cannot understand why you say that the 'Pater noster' is a prayer without meaning. It is the 'oratio dominica'! We have learned it from Our Lord Himself (Divina institutione formati!) (See the Gospel of Mattew ch. 6 verse 19 and foll.) Perhaps the problem is the Latin. But this is your problem. I have learned the Latin in my early youth. On the other hand, every languages praise the Lord.
@lunafringe10 It is interesting that you divide people in upper class and ignorant masses. Just because you are so sure that there is no lord, are you a member of upper class?
I am not. But I am not ignorant. I am graduated in physics and I am a researcher, I speak Italian and English, I read French (and the Latin of the Bible). In any case believing in God is not much more 'ignorant' than dividing people in upper class and ignorant masses.
This LATIN is simply Latin the "Italian Way". These guys simply cannot talk any other laguage in a normal way. They can't do anything about it. So, don't bmame them.
By the way, the layout of St. Peter's Basilica, where this video was taken, but also of the other Papal basilicas, is such that the Pope has been always faced to the people during the Mass, centuries before the Vatican II.
But the real point is that both the Pope and the people have always been facing the Cross on the altar.
I think the italianate pronuntiation of Latin is almost the same as the vulgar Latin spoken in 5th century. It's well known that Classical Latin and the common Latin pronounced the g after e an i as ghe in modern Italian. It palatalised into a [dzhe] sound by the 5th century A.D. The transformation of the c before e and i [ke] to [k'e],a palatalised variant formed in some time after the 2nd or 3rd century A.D. In the 4thcentury the [k'e] further rather compacted into [tshe], modern Italian C.
2-4th century is the time of the transition to the same stress system that is in all Romance languages: the Accentuation: From Quantity (Classical) to Stress(Ecclesiastical and all other medieval forms)! Esse formed into essere during the Roman Empire, posse to potire. The Latin language, among the uneducated(curse the power and societal structures!),remained mutually intelligible into the 6-8th century, while textual Latin is almost universally intelligible.QVIS ESSEM NVNC,SI MANEBETVR IMPERIVM?

@dies1domini There is no lord, its superstition. I know that pater noster. Sorry i dont read the bible.
And i am doing quite well without religion or god. Thank you. Not languages praise the lord but
ppl do in their language. Have you ever seen a member of the upper class praying? Course not.
They leave that to the ignorant masses. i didnt say prayers upon birth, and i wont say any on my
departure, you can be sure of it. Cause there is no after life. Its a myth

@dies1domini Even for the church there is an upper class and a lower class.
They only mix with the rich and powerful. As an ordinary person you wont get
past a bishops security.

Let's all pray the Rosary that the true mass and the true religion will come back soon in the Church.
This video is beautiful, showing the last breaths of catholicism before the destruction came. Blessed be Our Lord Jesus Christ!
