I downloaded a live version of this song and the artist(s) for the live version is credited to PJ Harvey & Concrete Blond. But, I cannot find what album it appears on :-( any suggestions on what album its on?
This is off the live album Concrete Blonde: Still in Hollywood and it is sung by Johnette and Eddie Vedder. For a note... almost every version of this song when it say "concrete blonde the ship song" is this version, most are mixes of the original By Nick Cave. And that I know of Nick and Johnette have never recorded or sang live together, pity, it would Pure Aural Ecstacy! I hope that helps. 8^)
It was also recorded in studio by concrete blonde and Steve Wynn, so there are a few options for you.. I would love to hear P.J. and Johnette together Is it really them? If it is then I bet it's awesome!
yes It is a pity - I just realised today they share exactly same date of birth as well, both are my favorite singers. 22nd september 1957 or so wikipedia states for both artists. I thought it was interesting.
I'm 50 years old and just found out about her(them). My first exposure was seeing her music video "Joey" in late 2007! I feel like I missed out on so much. Did a search saw "Everybody Knows", "Someday", more... How sad that I never got to see her live...
I'd just love to sit and talk with her for an hour or 10...
You can still catch her live - she toured all throughout 2007, with more sure to come. She updates her myspace page more often than her website - check it out!
I know they wont admit it but I think there official retirement (of the name basicly) had somthing to do with the fact there original drummer (who was on most of there albums)had shares of the band and unfortantly had drug issues so I think they had enough of it. From what I have read Johnette is still close to Jim and his Brother Earl.
Sorry about the "injustice." My digital camera at the time would only allow me to record a maximum of 30 seconds of footage. I wish I had this song in its entirety because its one of my favorites and they sounded GREAT that night! I'll post more (from this show) when I get a chance...

she, Johnette Napolitano, is working on new material. She will tour again soon. You won't miss her. She is the best live.

..they officially retired last year, very sad. But Johnette has a GREAT single album out, "Scarred". She/They are amazing.

You're doing us an injustice by not uploading this beautiful song in it's entirety.
