Great tutorial! I teach lessons in the Orlando, Fl area and your explanation of the theory behind the chords was great for the novice to understand. I looked this up after seeing a paul gilbert video where he performed this song AMAZINGLY all by himself so I thought of adding it to my acoustic act, and thanks to your help I will. Later brutha!!
@chrisdupre1 Thank you bro! Hey Orlando is my old stomping ground. That and Cocoa Beach, Merritt Island area. I played many gigs in that area growing up.
Hey Sage, This is a very pretty arrangement. I'd mention that each time you hit a C chord, I hit a Cmaj7. No big deal. I like the Bmin flat 5 you use, that's new to me. I'm going to keep up with your lessons. Nice work.
hey i know you said this isnt a vocal lesson lol but i gotta quick question. to get your voice to be so smooth like that, did you take lessons or are you just naturally good at singing? ive been playing guitar for a while and i realized that singing really ups the mood while playing.. problem is i dont have much of a singing voice. im sure youll recommend to take singing lessons but im not full of money lol. any tips or tidbits to get the most out of your voice? thx and appreciate the song
Thanks bro. I really appreciate that. Sing, sing, sing. Honestly, that is the answer. It's like playing guitar or learning juggling or any other thing. It just takes practice. Also, not worry about how you sound, but just emoting. When you worry about how you sound, you will hear it.
@grandmastersmith aaaand like with everything else theres technique to it that will enable you to learn faster and more effecient, if you want that, go for it.
@grandmastersmith trick is to use your voice like compression on a mixer or effect... Push out from your diaphragm and restrain with your throat... I know sounds weird but it will help with volume, pitch, as well as control over notes and what really comes out.
Thanks! I had some problems with understanding a few of those chord voicings, but i finally got it down and it sounds really good. I'm not sure if it's a "Beginner acoustic song " though.
something to keep in future videos, don't talk to much because it's a little discouraging to learn if it's more talking than playing, ya know what I mean? I'm definitely not hating, haha
The description of this video says that it details the strumming technique and style. However, you ran out of time before you could show us. Although it has been asked in several comments we still haven't gotten an answer. Can you please detail the strumming pattern/technique? Please respond and thank you.
hey i went back to the email and figured out how to get to the chart thanks. I have no problem playing the chords in this song, but i am having a little trouble figuring out your strumming/picking patter. Do you have any quick advice that could help me, i know it will come the more i play it, but i was wondering if you had any advice to speed me a long.
Would you be able to do As time goes by? Trying to figure it out but The chords that sound good to me are the one's i've found on the net so I'm a bit confused
I really enjoy you lessons! I have been watching you for some time now and finally got the Ebook! I'm just starting to sort through it now, but love it so far. Thanks for taking the time to help out people like me!
Can you teach black betty by ram jam, or one bourbon one scotch on ebeer by george thurogood? and i love this song and so does my dad so now i don't need a b-day present lol

What's going on with the right hand... is it simple? Is it just a pluck - slap/mute - pluck - slap/mute sorta thing or is there more to it?
