hey i have the original iphone (8gb, or 2g...watever u want to call it) and when i go into messages it still doesnt show the camera beside where u type ur message in...so i cant send MMS do u know whats wrong?

And the reason you never got the actual "walking in GPS" to work is because you need the iPhone 3G S' Compass to use that feature (when I say walking in GPS, I mean how when you are in the car or walking the map points to the direction you are going, otherwise, the iPhone has had the turn-by-turn (where it tells you when to turn) for a long time.

Well it can just assume your facing the way your going.

And by the way, it's TomTom that is working with apple on the turn-by-turn and not Google, Google is supplying the maps, watch the news.

Yeah walking in GPS and I think there is turn by turn Directions however I have never gotten it to work.

what do you mean walking in gps? also i thought apple couldnt do turn by turn becaue of licensing with google.

When you do GPS you pick if you are walking there on a bus or driving, and Google made the GPS app not Apple.

u can get it for free when you download straight from Apple's Sever

no, because only developers can access that page and even if you have a copy of it it wont work on your devise unless it is authorized for that firmware.

Trust me, I did it for my friend when he had 1.1.4, and wanted to update to 2.2.1, it was $10 if you did it in iTunes, so he asked me to get the 2.2.1 firmware for free, so I just downloaded it from felixbruns . de , and it was completely free.
