OOH, thank you thank you.. I've been trying to find some proof of this song's existence.. I remembered it as a child, but no one I ever sung it to had heard of it, not even my own mother. I knew I wasn't crazy!
This is one of the best Christmas albums to come out of the '60's. The great Anita Kerr led the choir and did most of the charts (Bob Ballard and Cameron Mullins did the others).
This particular song comes to Christmas via Broadway, specifically the 1961 Comden-Green-Styne show "Subways Are For Sleeping." The show, which starred Carol Lawrence and Sydney Chaplin, was a notorious flop, but did produce good songs like this and "Comes Once in a Lifetime."
Thank you for posting this album! I lost my copy many years ago and as others this was my Christmas album every year! As soon as the first snow fell I put this record on to get into the Christmas season. Love it and now I can share with others. God Bless
It's the end of July and I'm listening to the whole album on a playlist I've created for myself. It's a favorite from childhood. I recently found someone to purchase the album for me and edited all the scratches and pops out for $100. It wouldn't be christmas without it. Thanks for posting it and please never remove it.
It's March, and I'm visiting your window again. Its a real pleasure to listen to this song and the others on the same album. Even though it's out of season.
I was born in 1970 and can recall hearing this music every year from prolly about 1975 on. I love it. Good memories. Does anyone know if this album will ever be put on CD? Or sold on iTunes, etc?
Can't thank you enough for posting this. Same as everyone here this WAS Christmas in my house. i still have a copy around but, it's fairly scratched. Definitely nice to hear it in good condition again.
I appreciate this also. Your videos came up on a search I did for Little Christmas Tree Waltz. This album was Christmas music in my house too, growing up in the 1970's. Your copy sounds really good. The old record players had heavy arms that would dig into the records after a lot of plays. It's nice to hear the songs without a lot of distortion. I came across this record only one time before, in a resale shop. I hope the copyright holders let you keep this on here.
My Mom still has this album. It is the first Christmas music I can remember from my early childhood in the 1960s. Thank you so much for putting it on here. These songs fill me with the joy of many a Christmas past. Thank you!

Was this a Living Voices original? Like so many here it was part of the fabric of my childhood Christmas season.
The soprano who always provided the punctuation on all the songs is as much a part of Christmas as Santa (jolly Santa)!
