Wow... I really, really like this Catalina kit!... I was wondering if the 18" would really sound like though's old Be-Bop/Jazz kits of the yesteryears. I'd say it pulls it off perfectly. For only six-hundered something dollars - this kit wins my approval. I own a Grestch Renown kit. The Renown sounds quite a bit more modern then this kit which is actually not exactly what I'm after. I can't complain though. I would love to add something like this Catalina set w/18" bass drum to my arsenal.
