Ameritards, in general, are one of the most undisciplined when it comes to leading a healthy lifestyle. I see so many people every day who are basically immobile, the sole reason appears to be they are FATBUCKETS. Also the amount of people in this country who abuse drugs/alcohol/food, has to be one of the highest in the world. Maybe the government should encourage insurance companies to give BIG discounts to their insured clients, for meeting certain health markers (weight, bp, nonsmoker, etc).
Bottom line: I voted for President Obama and I respect what he is trying to do, but you can't implement such a radical change on such a grand scale (universal healthcare) without creating a supporting infrastructure first. If he wants universal healthcare, the government needs to build federal hospitals across the country and invest in scholarships so more people can afford to go to medical school. The private sector cannot handle the influx that would occur under what he is proposing.
When does it say in the constitution that the federal government should provide healthcare. it bothers me that the federal government is so large and powerful. absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Wake up america and just think about this for a moment if we all slow down to 65 mph gas prices will come down and we will save energy also. We can do this now today. Pass the word on do something today
I think all of the energy saving and pollution reduction ideas presented by the candidates are clearly positive, but to be honest, I think the US needs to face up to the reality that we need to start making some SIGNIFICANT changes and sacrifices. What is inconvenient to us is normal to people in other nations, many of which are developed and thriving. We are living way beyond our means.
Justine Whitaker won the accolade in February after impressing a panel of nursing specialists with her commitment and inventiveness. But she has now told the Nursing Standard - organisers of the award - that she can no longer face going to work in an atmosphere of "mistrust and fear". Ms Whitaker said: "We have a government saying it has talked to thousands of nurses and doctors, but it is not hearing what we are saying."
Maybe we could partition the country into 2 or 3 parts, Edwards/Clinton/Obama could take all your money right when you get to their border and begin redistributing immediately. The neo-cons would hand out guns and oil they took from someone else when you reached them. And Ron Paul's area would contain the Republic as Jefferson left it to us. All agreed?
This man is a socialist! Who ever heard of auctioning off the right to emit carbon dioxide? Does he understand that this country operates on the principal of laissez-faire?
Laissez-faire? Since when? Laissez-faire was eliminated back with Teddy Roosevelt and definatley after the Depression. The government being hands-off is a pathetic idea still clung onto by those that don't understand that we need the government to regulate business
Ron Paul will reduce air pollution by not taxing the internet. (he is against taxing the internet) That will encourage online shopping and discourage driving to the store to buy something.
Ron Paul will use private property to reduce water and land pollution.
I always laugh when either Democratic and Republican politicians talk about the jobs their policies will create. If they have their way, whatever jobs are created will be shipped overseas as quickly as their corporate supporters can make it happen. Only Dennis Kucinich even talks about reversing the outsourcing of jobs.
Try a rich, white lawyer who sued doctors into submission going on a "poor aid" campaign. Does that not sound hypocritical? And I don't believe I was talking to you, was I? Or do you feel so important, with all of your porn on your profile, that you somehow feel entitled to attention from me? Why don't you sit on that while having your "Happy Chuck time".
What is this CFR anyway? Better check it out. Newt Gingrich CFR Dick Cheney CFR John McCain CFR Rudy Giuliani CFR Al Gore CFR Fred Thompson CFR Hillary Clinton CFR Barack Obama CFR Joseph Biden CFR Bill Richardson CFR John Edwards CFR
Why would I want the government to take more money out of my pocket to give to the big 3. Can't any body see why they are losing market share? Other automakers make higher efficiency models. If ppl want them they will buy them. Let the market decide not the govt.
AND he wants to give A BILLION of our dollars to big automakers? What the heck did they do to earn that? How does it work that he wants to impose taxes on big oil, only to SUBSIDIZE big auto? It is crazy folks... cra-zy.
I think it is hilarious the way he talks about his energy cap auction "generating money"! Money won't just be "generated", it will come out of MY POCKET. What a bunch of crap.
I am from Canada and I am all for universal healthcare. However you will never have it unless you cap the salaries of Doctors. In Ontario Canada, it is capped at about $450,000. Doctor's salaries are the biggest expense in the healthcare system and you cannot have universal healthcare without it.
Cap the Doctor's salaries, you eliminate an incentive to become a doctor. You eliminate the incentive to become the BEST doctor in the world. you eliminate the incentive to go to school for 15 years, spend 10 yrs in residency, 10yrs to become established to where you make big money. Eliminate that incentive what do you get? Canadian Healthcare System.
I don't know who Smedley Butler is. But his quote is out of date. This war isn't being conducted for the benefit of the few at the expense of the masses. It's being conducted for the benefit of the MASSES at the expense of the FEW.
Search on "Richardson" and "PoliticsTV" to see Bill Richardson's energy policy plan. Richardson and, to a lesser extent, Edwards lead the pack on this most critical of all issues.

If there are two Americas this Pig is not in the same one we all live in. This fucker uses more energy in 1 week than any of you use in 1 year. Gore too! His wife has cancer and this egomaniac is still going to run for awhile. He will never win. Why would he waste that time with his Children and Wife? Can you say Narcissistic!
If we withdraw immediately from Iraq... Iraq is going to be even more of a slaughter house. I think we at least owe it to that nation to try our best to crush this insurgency.
I don't think that he is up to the task , and his proposals sound too complicated, over complication leads to failure. The health insurance thing. I don't know if that could work or not.
You're concerned because it sounds "complex"? These are pretty complex problems we're facing here. We tried having a president that thought of simple solutions - he got us into a very complex war that was beyond his abilities.
Yes , I think it is too complex. And please don't imply that Im in support of the current moron in charge. The more complex the plumbing , the easier it is to stop the drain. You know how those idiots operate!
John, just loved hearing word underground you are setting up on the Bilderberg Group. Long overdue, man. You could nay should really be less sugary in glossing or shilling their agenda until the final month and then do transition only after Murdoch flips/screws Hilary. Final runup should be a hoot. Nice work so far tho. My sisters buying it bigtime.

--->""Anybody except another war loving republican!""<--
I think that's the battle cry for the large majority of our nation. If you actually listen to the man, John Edwards looks more and more like the best of the lot. Hillary is already out.
Mr. Edwards is the only candidate with real policy ideas, literal strategy and tactics to move us forward. Leave your preconceived notions behind and listen to the man.
ok but that's not the bottom line... im not saying i support infesticide b/c that would be downright wrong, but you have to look at more than one issue... other candidates would kill hundreds of other people through other issues such as healthcare and globalwarming (yes it can lead to death)... through iraq and soon to be iran... so that's just a thought...
bottom line: John Edwards supports infanticide. I'm not talking about abortion.. I'm talking about a baby delivered breech all the way until just the head is yet to come out - then the abortionist crushes the baby's skull to complete delivery. Edwards mourned the partial-birth abortion ban & the Supreme Court's upholding of it.
Partial birth abortion, a few brief facts: It isn't a medical term and it isn't performed in this country. The medical term that is most applicable IS late term abortion and it is not done in the manner claimed by the anti-choice movement. Also, very few doctors even know how the procedure is done, let alone actually perform it. Edwards and other pro-choice advocates mourned the bill because we know that it is a chip-away attempt.
jeanwish, you are incorrect. Carhartt and Tiller perform these abortions, and women fly in from all over the U.S. to have these abortions performed at their clinics.
pull your head out of the sand fool! It is performed and they can call it late term all they want, the child has its arms, legs and body delivered then the doctor stops and sticks a pair of scissors in its skull and then inserts a vacumm to finish off the job. I would say double the actual number are performed, probably 2,000. (ps. The ACLU and its members are an evil cult, a definate wolf in sheeps clothing.
I think we should require a jail sentence everytime a polititian lies to us. Mantadory 5years.Then once all the dems are in jail maybe we get back to reality
He would be a nightmare for small business and the self employed Rising on tax on people making over 200 thousand a year will hurt Everyone we need that to reinvest and by our reinvestment we Create jobs income tax needs to be done away with and replaced
Not when those reinvestments are tax write offs. I make a nice 6 figure income from a home based business and this wouldn't hurt me. The trickle down lie hasn't gained any truth in the last 20 years.
Trickle-down economics is not a lie. It's part of the reason our economy is relatively stable. Adam Smith was a very intelligent man, and you would be a fool to ignore the vast amount of evidence supporting
i mean, we just passed a bi tht will send all illegal immigrants trying to come into America over to Austrlia. So, I mean, we will hopefully see a decrease in immigration rates. however, we will be receiving australia's illegal immigrants...but how many people are really sneaking over to australia?
Yes, PRIVATE COMPANIES being involved means much higher administrative costs, you idiot. You do know that they also have "administration" as well, don't you?
You are doing a bad job of scaring people into believing your ideology. You should do what Bush'n Dick do use terrorism! so if we don't subsidize oil companies the terrorists will attack us. Now that is how its done you idiot!
Do you fear reason? I'm simply pointing out that the government, any government, is incapable of "providing" things at prices less than a free market could. I don't support government subsidies for ANY industry. Can you say the same? I would add that I don't fear terrorism, but I'm beginning to fear students.
If it weren't for subsidies there would be no wal mart and you probably wouldn't be able to buy produce like mangoes, figs and even oranges. Subsidies have their ups and downs.
Right. All goods spring eternal from the government fountain of pillage. Only through subsidies do we have fruit and grocery stores. And if it weren't for trial attorneys we would likely all perish from starvation. Good grief.
At least you are talking about global warming. I dont think Bush can hear the sounds of the animals killing over, with the sound of his machine gun going off.
Yes, I agree, there are some spoon fed, lucky bastards that have not paid the ultimate price..however the tax issue is a result of social programs designed to perpetuate government assistance. Less tax means less government, and more money within the economy. Look up "trickle down economics". No offense to anyone by the way..
..hey madceltguy, I see you have a problem with rich people. It must suck being 47 and wearing a name tag, or a headset at the 2nd window... The "rich" spend more, own more, risk more, and ultimately PAY MORE so that little broke dick grown adults can complain about a minimum wage job.
Yes, I agree, there are some spoon fed, lucky bastards that have not paid the ultimate price..however the tax issue is a result of social programs designed to perpetuate government assistance. What we don't need is more Bush type Bullshit. Who the hell sends troops into combat based on "We THINK they have WMD'S"? But then Hallaburton had a good surge of profit. The there was Dubya's Tax break for the rich 1% of the US.Population to boot as he is sending our work "Off shore" Do you know there are still folks who need help from Katrina? I don't know if Edwards can do any better....But I KNOW he could not do much WORSE than the IDIOT Bush.
Reduce carbon dioxide by 80%? Global warming is the biggest bullshit scam on this planet. If John Edwards wishes to reduce co2 emissions, he should start by zipping his pie hole. We can't stop the time or tide, and we can't change the climate. Put the J down and step away from the TV.
Global warming is not really a scam. What is a scam is the idea that anyone is going to do anything about it. It is practically a done deal--NOBODY is going to quit burning oil and coal at any appreciable rate in this growing world, not John Edwards and not Al Gore and we cannot trap China's gas. Global warming is inevitable, it does not matter who you vote for. So is John Edwards "idealistic and courageous" as isutik says, or playing us for fools?
someone needs to watch "Who killed the electric Car". Anyway his plan doesn't make since, any one with common sense knows things aren't that simple and he's playing us for fools. Humvlimo you're an idiot, the government and big businesses are holding hands skipping down fucked up lane. Global warming is no accident and a good government looks after its' people. These businesses are destroying the health of the world and the mental health of the people as a whole.
i will vote for edwards, he is the most idealistic and courageous politician ive ever seen. congress wont let him get all the things done that he wants to, but id like to see how far he could get.
GET OVER IT PEOPLE! no President is TRUSTWORTHY. you just rely on what they say, if you feel like you believe them at the moment or not. If you really dont trust him, at least he is doing a good job at pretending to care. What are YOU doing about current issues?? yeah, i didnt think so.
Who the hell cares if he spent $400 on a haircut. It's his money, folks. Not tax money, not campaign money, not stolen money, but his and his alone. Are you in any position to tell him what to spend his personal money on?
FYI John, coal energy will NEVER be clean energy. Hire new environmental advisors.
Well iguess a $400 haircut is a terible thing in comparison to the billions beig wasted on this " War on Terror". Give me a break!!!! this guy has a plan and it sounds like a good one. at least hes not a blithering idiot like the one we have in there now.
you need to stop paying $400 dollars for your haircuts from a beverly hills sylist. You are not humble. I do not trust you. You lie for my vote. You will not get it.
Tell me one candidate whose campaign doesn't cover the cost of some haircuts or clothes from time to time. Should the campaign also not cover the cost of a candidate's room and board? You are ignorant because you don't think things through. Go somewhere and get a brain.
Bring on universal health care! Let's have the long queues to see specialists like they do in Europe! I can't wait! Wait a second, actually I CAN wait...and do so quite a long time
If you don't mind being "inconvenienced" could you send me $5.00 so I can go buy condoms to keep me from having kids I can't afford. Better yet can you send me $300 so I can afford higher insurance so I can get a nicer car.
Your right, 40% of americans should get sick and die or only have expensive ER care that destroys thier credit and with it thier hope for success.... just so you and I don't have to wait in line.
I have a company which competes for contracts with companies which employ illegal aliens who will not demand health insurance. I'm sure the argument will be that we will have to crack down on companies who engage in these practices. But it will not happen. There are not the available resources or fortitude by any local or federal agencies to be effective in that capacity. I don't mind if someone will do it cheaper or even if they are illegal. Just don't legislate small business out of business.
The problem with politics is you dont know who is tellign the truth. No one wants to lead the american people to improve the country anymore. All they want is the fame and title and ability to make us suffer. So can this man change all that? If he can prove that he is sincere in his words, then he will have my vote otherwise, I probably wont even bother to vote. The other candidates are just in it for the fame. ITs obvious.
The promises are perfect for what our country needs. The problem is candidates, once elected do not hold to what they've promised. It all goes out teh window. So again for four years we are stuck with a president who does not think of the American people, but only of himself and what he can do to be reelected for another term. How are voters to know that THIS candidate means what he says and will carry it out?
The Republican party and corporate america is ONE AND THE SAME. Yes, the Republican-lite DLC (Democratic Leadership Council) is crap as well, but nothing like the fascist Republican party.
john has had some seriously bad stuff happen to him, and that makes me believe that he's genuine. I still don't trust him because he's a politician, but he's got good idea's that have been absent from the white house for nearly a decade. He's got my vote.
My concerns are 1. the Iraq fiasco 2. the US leadership role as stewards of what is left of the earth God gave us 3. EDUCATION...4. equal healthcare for all citizens.
I like it!, but I am going to play the devil's advocate for a second here and ask how feasible implementing these plans are? I don't mean to be pessimistic. I am really just curious what other people think.
I also think your husband would make wonderful president of the united states we need some one who is going to take of the mess with bush has started, i also think that some one needs to take a stand on this war that is going on now and bring our troops home because i am 21 years now and i have seen many things during my lifetime and i truly think that if some one takes a stand on these issues now then we can have peace in the world.
John Edwards has my vote. The man wants to save us and he's willing to sacrifice millions of lobby dollars to do it. He may not be perfect or have the perfect plan, but at least he wants to try. He seems genuine and he'll have my support until the day he proves otherwise - if that day should even come.
If you have ever studied demographics you would understand that the phrase hill billy, acutally fits that of more prodomenately blue state than red. But then again who cares.
It's refreshing to hear Edwards because he has specific proposals that show an understanding of the problems at hand. As a refugee from the American health care system, I've tracked this issue over the years and I know Edwwards' plan addresses the obstacles faced by people trying to get and keep their health insurance, the problems faced by companies large and small that have health insurance as part of their employment package, and the societal need to keep down health care costs.
Washington D.C. is filled with trash that needs to be taken out and burned (both dem and g.o.p). I say all the American people - WE THE PEOPLE, drag them out into the streets and let the angry masses which they have brainwashed and enslaved tear all of these DEVILS (who are prostituting OUR Nation with India's god's and the bankers of Europe) limb from limb AND FIANLY HAVE SOME REAL AMERICAN FREEDOM THE WAY IT WAS INTEDNED!
John Edwards the only Candidate with a comprehesive and serious plan to reverse the effects of Carbon Dioxide. I hope Al Gore Supporters get off the dime, and start to check out this obvious Green Alternative.
if you are or have read this comment then you are cursed for life. You will have a terrible life and never get married (if you are already married you will get divorced). Only way to undo this curse is if you comment 5 videos with this exact message
i also googled an article that rails on edwards for taking up the cases of brain damaged infants. calling it "junk science" and saying that physicians are only responsible for cerebral palsy sometimes.
if only somebody would make some sort of court system where a jury would hear expert testimony from both sides to determine whether negligence was the actual cause of the brain damage.
Did you read on how he presented the junk science? He played on the emotions of the jury. The jury feels bad for the family and thinks we can help them and since insurance pays no one is harmed. Is the jury system broke yes. I think we need to move to a professional jury system where paid juries with some training in the field judge the case.
There's no junk science here, and I'd like to know what your own sources are. The health care system in America is the worst of all developed nations. It doesn't promote health and it certainly doesn't care about the sick, and it is so inefficient that it's a joke to call it a system.
the health insurance will be mandatory like car insurance is mandatory? What will the police take away if it's discovered that i don't have health insurance?
the government provides it if you dont have it from your employer, dude. health insurance should be mandatory for the exact same reason car insurance is. so other people dont have to foot the bill if you have serious expenses that you cant afford. preventative care will save billions and it will be better for everyone.
So the tax increases he is talking about are not paid by other people? And the increase cost of goods arent paid for by other people? And the loss of more jobs overseas to lower cost are not paid for by others? You need to take a look at Europes failed health system and take a basic economic course not taught by socalist.
I'm a refugee from the American health care system, now live in Europe, and can attest to the success and feasibility of the systems in Germany and England. The issue of rising health care costs is faced by all nations, but at least in Europe, they're not trying to solve the problem by eliminating sick people and children from low-income households from the system.
Ambulance chasers like Edwards has a 20,000 SF mansion.
Yet, more than 77,000 people have died because to enact comprehensive tort reforms in the states. The cost of foregone output from these lost workers is more than $7 billion each year.
Annual dynamic costs of $537 billion resulting from our litigation system. Add that to the static costs of $328 billion you arrive at over $865 B/ year. "Jackpot Justice: The True Cost of America's Tort System," which was released today.
Great he wants to control breathing (co2). He is the king of junk science. Then there is big government telling you what you can do and when you can do it. Run away America is weak come get us here. And a man who drove up health care cost with fraudulent law suits talking reducing health care cost is laughable.
Its fine if you want to be stupid enough to deny global warming, even though pretty much every scientist who doesn't work for an oil company says it's real. But how about you think about it like this if we can start a new energy economy so we no longer have to send billions of dollars to countries with despot leaders and help grow our own economy.
I never denied global warming I deny man's hand in it. All the inner planets are warming. And the majority of scientist studying global warming agrees with me. I support getting off foreign oil I use biodiesel myself but big government will hinder not fix the problem. The solution is more domestic production, increase biodiesel and to lesser extent ethanol, and forget hydrogen.
Where in my statement do you see me saying most are fraudulent. If you check on the ones he did then you see it was all based on junk science and emotions. We need serious tort reform because even a small percentage of frivolous suits adds billion to cost due to increase insurance for doctors and unnecessary test.
actually the cost of lawsuits are a very small percentage of healthcare costs. i dont know where you are getting your numbers. ive seen studies that show that the chance of frivolous suits making money is less than 1 percent.
Those studies dont include such things as cases settled out of court, the increase in insurance cost ( one Dr I know pays 5k month and never had a malpractice case ), increased paper work to cover yourself in case of suits ( most have to hire someone to do it), and unnecessary tests just in case a one in a million chance. Lawsuit are not the largest cost but it probably adds anywhere from a quarter to a third to the cost.
This guy is fantastic.

I am from Canada and I am all for universal healthcare. However you will never have it unless you cap the salaries of Doctors. In Ontario Canada, it is capped at about $450,000. Doctor's salaries are the biggest expense in the healthcare system and you cannot have universal healthcare without it.
Listman11 4 years ago
Cap the Doctor's salaries, you eliminate an incentive to become a doctor. You eliminate the incentive to become the BEST doctor in the world. you eliminate the incentive to go to school for 15 years, spend 10 yrs in residency, 10yrs to become established to where you make big money. Eliminate that incentive what do you get? Canadian Healthcare System.

dancer54a 4 years ago
dancer54a, then what about the 4,400 Americans killed every day through abortion?
CarsonWeber 4 years ago
bottom line: John Edwards supports infanticide. I'm not talking about abortion.. I'm talking about a baby delivered breech all the way until just the head is yet to come out - then the abortionist crushes the baby's skull to complete delivery. Edwards mourned the partial-birth abortion ban & the Supreme Court's upholding of it.
CarsonWeber 4 years ago
Partial birth abortion, a few brief facts: It isn't a medical term and it isn't performed in this country. The medical term that is most applicable IS late term abortion and it is not done in the manner claimed by the anti-choice movement. Also, very few doctors even know how the procedure is done, let alone actually perform it. Edwards and other pro-choice advocates mourned the bill because we know that it is a chip-away attempt.
jeanewish 4 years ago
jeanwish, you are incorrect. Carhartt and Tiller perform these abortions, and women fly in from all over the U.S. to have these abortions performed at their clinics.
CarsonWeber 4 years ago
pull your head out of the sand fool!

I'm sure the argument will be that we will have to crack down on companies who engage in these practices. But it will not happen. The problem with politics is you dont know who is tellign the truth. No one wants to lead the american people to improve the country anymore. It's refreshing to hear Edwards because he has specific proposals that show an understanding of the problems at hand. As a refugee from the American health care system, I've tracked this issue over the years and I know Edwwards' plan addresses the obstacles faced by people trying to get and keep their health insurance, the problems faced by companies large and small that have health insurance as part of their employment package, and the societal need to keep down health care costs.

i also googled an article that rails on edwards for taking up the cases of brain damaged infants. calling it "junk science" and saying that physicians are only responsible for cerebral palsy sometimes.
if only somebody would make some sort of court system where a jury would hear expert testimony from both sides to determine whether negligence was the actual cause of the brain damage.
jsutik 4 years ago
Did you read on how he presented the junk science? He played on the emotions of the jury. The jury feels bad for the family and thinks we can help them and since insurance pays no one is harmed. Is the jury system broke yes. I think we need to move to a professional jury system where paid juries with some training in the field judge the case.
leemann25177 4 years ago
There's no junk science here, and I'd like to know what your own sources are. The health care system in America is the worst of all developed nations. It doesn't promote health and it certainly doesn't care about the sick, and it is so inefficient that it's a joke to call it a system.

So the tax increases he is talking about are not paid by other people? And the increase cost of goods arent paid for by other people? leemann25177 4 years ago
I'm a refugee from the American health care system, now live in Europe, and can attest to the success and feasibility of the systems in Germany and England. I support getting off foreign oil I use biodiesel myself but big government will hinder not fix the problem. The solution is more domestic production, increase biodiesel and to lesser extent ethanol, and forget hydrogen.

Suggesting that all medical malpractice lawsuits, or even most of them, are fraudulent is logically unsound and ideologically vapid.
