I never hated them What I don't like is when ordinary civilians are attacked and killed and when they try to drive us out . We too are part of Mindanao just like them. Yes they are CVO supported by the Government but they become CVO because they have no choice but to arm themselves from the MILF who constantly harass and kill them . since they cannot buy arms to protect what little property they have they join the Govt as CVO to get free arms. I had an uncle who was targetted by the rebels because he dont pay up there revolutionary taxes so they tried to liquidate him. to survived he enlisted in the army . and now a retired sergeant.

@darkj3am All religions and faiths I know are peaceful and non- violent. It is mostly the interpretation/misuse of religion by a minority that causes conflict. Regarding Mindanao, the conflict is not fundamentally caused by religion - rather than by those who would like to take by force what does, and never has, belonged to them - i.e. the legitimate ancestral domains of the indigenous Moro people. This long conflict can be stopped if only people can recognise this and show some respect.

What I hope for is proper and lasting negotiated peace where all legitimate land owners and residents can agree to get on and work together for the interests of the region and the people. There will be no place for armed extremists/criminals from whatever side and I am sure that this will be dealt with when a peace agreement has been agreed. That's what I hope.

Although the Moro people have inhabited Mindanao for centuries, vast lands have been conquered by Spanish and American colonization prior to the annexation of Mindanao to Philippines.

The GRP have the authority to develop the public lands without the permission of the Moro leaders.
