Under the Obam-i-nation's plan, my husband wouldn't receive any care because he has an on-going condition that he probably won't fully recover from, so he would be deemed "unworthy" of continuing care. Reform health care by removing the third payer system. Have individuals responsible for the cost and the insurance companies reimburse them. Make the consumer shop around for the best rates in health care like they do when buying a car. THAT is the way to fix the problem.
My husband was hospitalized this year for CHF brought on by a virus. He doesn't have health insurance. We now have a $10k hospital bill to pay, plus on-going doctor visits and meds - and I STILL HOPE OBAMA FAILS. We will get the bill paid, and we will handle other costs - it is our responsibility not anyone elses. It is also OUR CHOICE. I would rather spend the rest of my life paying off a hospital bill, then have this atrocity foisted upon us. At least right now, we HAVE access to care.

The Health Care system isn't what's breaking American families. It's the ever-increasing cost of living implemented by raising government spending. It's throwing money in every direction to fix economic crisis, and leaving the bill for the next generation. It's signing bills into legislation before reading them, and handing our liberties and freedoms away as quickly as we can name them off.

The problem with the Porkulus bill is that it had next to NO STIMULUS at all, be it Keynesian or Reganite. It had hand outs to the non-working, but that is about it. As far as it helping end the Great Depression, the type used by FDR prior to WW2 actually extended the Great Depression and caused many mini-Depressions with-in it. Properly implemented Keynesian theory CAN work, just like Reganite Solutions can work. What was passed this Winter was not Keynesian, it was a bunch of handouts.
That is what Keynesian economics is "handouts + spending (aka stimulus). Reaganomics = Milton Friedman which is tax cuts (income + payroll + capital gains + property) + cut government spending (get rid of Department of Education + HUD + limit Federal Reserve + others) + increase spending on production not bailouts to failed companies that should have been leveraged + bankrupt + sold.

You can go to the emergency room and they will do just enough to get you out the door. Obviously you've never had to attempt to get insurance after having a health problem, it isn't easy and take out dinners and cable doesn't cover it. We're lucky we have insurance but if we had to pay for my partner's scripts we would be looking at over $800 a month and that's just his scripts. Canadian health care sounds good they live longer have a lower infant mortality rate and everyone is covered we pay much much more and rank 38th hardly something to brag about
I don't think you've read the Bill because if you had you'd know the Government won't be taking over health care they will be setting standards and offering the choice of a public option. The reason health care is so expensive is because insurance companies have a lock on the market many Dr.s won't even see you if you are self pay. HMO's got greedy and we're all paying for it

Actually the U.S. is rated 37th we have higher infant morality and lower life expectancy then the majority of the civilized world and no hospitals are not required to treat you unless it's an emergency and then they are only required to STABILIZED you, the emergency departments are not obligated to do anything beyond that. They are not required to give you chemo or insulin or dialysis or perform a by pass or provide follow up. Our care is great in some areas as long as you can pay for it.
Question- Is the USA 37th in the World for Health Care SYSTEM or because we do not have the Best Doctors and Medicine in the entire World????? Thus, if service is poor under the public option [due to the bureaucracy of which you're so afraid], consumers are free to discontinue their policy and purchase one from the private sector -- just as they do now. If this were a good bill, it could be deliberated and passed with overwhelming bipartisan support after thoughtful consideration. The public support would be extraordinary.
The fact that it (like the Stimulus and Cap & Tax) must be hurriedly jammed through without having been read means that it cannot withstand public scrutiny. If the pols are afraid to let us know what's in the bill, it deserves to fail.

The government option doesnt need to make a profit, so it won't have to compete as private plans need to. The private plans will cease to exist, and we will all be under nationalized, socialized care. Not good. Under the Obam-i-nation's plan, my husband wouldn't receive any care because he has an on-going condition that he probably won't fully recover from, so he would be deemed "unworthy" of continuing care. Reform health care by removing the third payer system. Have individuals responsible for the cost and the insurance companies reimburse them. Make the consumer shop around for the best rates in health care like they do when buying a car. THAT is the way to fix the problem.

My husband was hospitalized this year for CHF brought on by a virus. He doesn't have health insurance. We now have a $10k hospital bill to pay, plus on-going doctor visits and meds - and I STILL HOPE OBAMA FAILS. We will get the bill paid, and we will handle other costs - it is our responsibility not anyone elses. It is also OUR CHOICE. I would rather spend the rest of my life paying off a hospital bill, then have this atrocity foisted upon us. At least right now, we HAVE access to care.

For instance if I say " My whole day went right down the shitter after I fell in the mud" and the question is Where would you like to see America in 5 years? I appreciate the common decency and civility displayed by some people on this page, I wish others would debate in a similar manner, but if you think insulting someone's character will win your argument then ok, but I agree with this video. If the democrats pass this legislation, pass the energy bill, and then if the economy improves and if we're more energy independent by the end of Obama's term, then republicans are going to continue to be the minority, so they want him to fail.

It's throwing money in every direction to fix economic crisis, and leaving the bill for the next generation. The problem with the Porkulus bill is that it had next to NO STIMULUS at all, be it Keynesian or Reganite. It had hand outs to the non-working, but that is about it. As far as it helping end the Great Depression, the type used by FDR prior to WW2 actually extended the Great Depression and caused many mini-Depressions with-in it. Properly implemented Keynesian theory CAN work, just like Reganite Solutions can work. What was passed this Winter was not Keynesian, it was a bunch of handouts.

Funny thing is if every member of the GOP voted NO, guess what... the bill could still pass both the house and the senate and be on Pres. Obama's desk tomorrow. There is NOTHING the GOP can do to stop it. The reason it is getting held up is because of the DNC, 51 Democrats in the house, and 7 or so in the Senate. Those are the real targets of this ad.

1) stop spreading disinfo this is hardly full on socialized medicine. it coexists with the private sector. 2) check out Switzerland, Sweden, or Japan. they all have government run healthcare systems, and they also have some of the highest life expectancies. their are plenty of others too. google "counties with the highest life expectancies" then check out those countries and see what kind of health care they have. you'll probably be surprised.

Obviously you've never had to attempt to get insurance after having a health problem, it isn't easy and take out dinners and cable doesn't cover it. We're lucky we have insurance but if we had to pay for my partner's scripts we would be looking at over $800 a month and that's just his scripts. Canadian health care sounds good they live longer have a lower infant mortality rate and everyone is covered we pay much much more and rank 38th hardly something to brag about

Anyway, healthcare is expensive because of gov't regulations, Medicare/Medicaid, and taxes on producers. Privatize healthcare and it will become much cheaper over time.

Actually the U.S. is rated 37th we have higher infant morality and lower life expectancy then the majority of the civilized world and no hospitals are not required to treat you unless it's an emergency and then they are only required to STABILIZED you, the emergency departments are not obligated to do anything beyond that. They are not required to give you chemo or insulin or dialysis or perform a by pass or provide follow up. Our care is great in some areas as long as you can pay for it.

No doubt we have exceptional health care for the 10% that can buy it but for everyone else our coverage is lacking and we are in many ways going backwards.
