@chefprotoss one thing is to breed different kinds of produce and another thing is to modify their genetics like gm does. it's not necessarily a bad thing (i mean, as long as you have to feed basically the entire suburban part of America which is probably 70% of it) although it might not taste as good as the real thing. putting all kinds of insecticides and altering the produce's genetics so its shelf life increases is essential for mass produce production. if america had less suburban land...
@chefprotoss ... and more room for let's say to begin with, farmland; local growers would be available. That's how it is in most parts of Europe. You have a good balance of national parks, urban land, suburban land, and farm land. It's a much more efficient economy.
