  • Ah. The arrogance / naivety / stupidity of youth. "Three albums before we're 25". I'll hold them to that. Let's see how they feel once the money comes rolling in and they get a sniff of a pretty girl who wants a pretty house...James Murphy managed it but he got started preeety late.

  • They act like pricks and fucking idiots and i hated them untill i heard spitting blood and heavy pop and they may be wankers but frankly they are what a band should sound like in 2011

  • Wow They're fucking terrible, they sound like every other indie band floating around these days, I was expecting an English version of Iceage, sadly dissapointed.

  • lol . from the very beginning with the host, this entire "doc" style feature is hilarious. the switch between the interviews and their performance are pretty lol except, i don't think this is meant to be ironic.. i like their music and they don't seem that up their asses ha

  • They have so got their heads up their own arses. I seen them & they were shit.I cant believe theyre even mentioning Black Flag?Ive a suspicion theyre posh kids.???

  • is it just me but doesnt tom look a bit like Midge Ure!?

  • They think a lot of them selves..

  • retire at 25?just like Henry,do me a favour.

  • they're HUGELY pretentious! WANKERS! typical mancs attitude!!! love the tunes though..

  • Great music but the lead singer is trying too hard to sound like Caleb Followill...and not succeeding.

  • @BroonsHouse Hahahahaha

  • @BroonsHouse Yeah, by singing in a Husky voice to a band and musical style that sound nothing whatsoever like kings of leon and by acting nothing at all like a sell-out stadium band, Ellery Roberts is clearly trying to imitate Caleb fucking Followill.

  • @BroonsHouse are you stupid he would put on an american kind of slur on his singing and i have seen both king of leon and wu lyf live this year and wu lyf where better atleast they didnt sell out

  • @WU1LYF So making a decent song that a lot of people like is selling out? People don't control who listens to their music, if WU LYF made it big through working hard would you slag them off as well? I Fucking Hate Hipsters.

  • @BroonsHouse Dude the singer is a vocal experimentist

  • I'm seeing them in November and tickets are only $15 :)

  • Anyone who thinks they're in it for the money has not seen them live...they charge ten bucks a ticket and have no merchandise. I saw them in july ...10 bucks and I got tickets to see them at a much bigger venue

..still the same price...they could easily charge way more...so how are they in it for the money?

  • WU LIFE kids make old people nervous.

  • ha ha, fake music

  • I'm 26 and after hearing this interview I feel REALLY old :(

  • AWKWARD.

  • We're already listening to washed out people play music... Go back to school boys!

  • always a giggle..

  • finally an interview

  • dont name drop black flag on bbc television please

  • @Basetrem Well said. These dicks are simply trying to find a new way to be cool. Its all been done before, and a hell of a lot better to boot. The Manic Street Preachers were saying the same as these guys 20 years ago... "we will split after one album." And then they didn't. Its not advisable to make such grandiose statements just to sound clever.

  • @tutmytuthoppy these guys turned down every recording deal known too man dont you think if they where trying too be cool everywhere they would go they would be telling everyone how WU LYF turned down every recording deal. they used too play in a coffee shop every week in manchester made an independant record you never see there album promoted anywhere the only thing that gets plugged is there live performances and have you ever heard of a band that sounds like these guys before?

  • @WU1LYF i discovered them through an advert on spotify

  • @tcldim Most bands when there album is first released are on spotify

  • @WU1LYF I'll assume your last question was a joke right? So... "these guys turned down every recording deal known too man... they used too play in a coffee shop every week in Manchester, made an independent record (that's relevant because?) you never see there album promoted anywhere." Its called MARKETING. If they are so uncompromising, why start to play the game now? Why not just carry on doing what they were doing? I'll tell you why... Money, fame and adulation. They have nothing new to say.

  • @tutmytuthoppy because they started small and look where they are now one of the most talked about bands of 2011 that is why its relevant

  • @tutmytuthoppy well, I should mind my own business but, I mean, we don't need people like you... you just CAN'T believe in Wu Lyf, in what they stand for. actually I feel deeply sorry for you.

  • @yackoftheyear With such ill-conceived, naive statements as yours, I in turn feel deeply sorry for your parents.

  • @tutmytuthoppy they died stage-diving at a Black Flag guerilla gig. babaille!
