I don't get why Pleasence's Blofeld is the most popular. Don't get me wrong, Pleasence is a great actor but he's the excact opposite of what Blofeld should be. Blofeld should be tall, tough and with a deep and menacing voice. Telly Savalas' Blofeld fits that description. Pleasence, while an awesome actor, is short and non-menacing. I can never take him seriously in the role. They really should bring Blofeld back instead of having a new villain in every movie. Have some story continuity MGM!
@Xehanort4 they had some copyright issues and couldnt use him anymore till his "creator" died but he may be in the new daniel craig movie skyfall played by either ralph finnes or albert finney
@TheDrYes Yeah, his "creator" Kevin McClory wanted to use him in endless Thunderball remakes. He was originally supposed to be the main villain in The Spy Who Loved Me until McClory became involved. And yes, i've heard of Blofeld's possible return in Skyfall. From what i've heard of Skyfall it sounds like they're focusing more on story instead of action and thus it is the only 007 movie thus far that i'm excited about.
@Xehanort4 yeah thats pretty much it and while i wouldnt say some other bonds didnt focus on story because theres some who did, thay need to break away from the whole bourne immitation thing and screw quantum of solace my only regeret is that the films title isn't that of a book or short story but thats life and anyways i'm excited to see it
@TheDrYes Yeah some 007 movies focused more on story than others. However, the minute Blofeld and SPECTRE left the series, the films lost all story continuity. With the exception of Jaws, no other Bond villain has returned in other movies and every Bond movie is like it's own individual story. There's nothing wrong with that but it gets tiresome after 22 movies and EON really should break out of the continuing formula.
@Xehanort4 yes the connery and lazenby films were top i feel like after you only live twice they should have done diamonds are forever the ohmss and start off moore's years as bond with for your eyes only because of the opening of that introducing roger moore and ending blofeld but i do wish blofeld had been used in the spy who loved me or at least the organization that was supposed to overthrow him (appearently terrorism was to sensitive for the 70's :P)
@TheDrYes Yeah, and if he would have been in The Spy Who Loved Me he would have been the employer of Jaws. Imagine, two of the greatest and most popular Bond villains in the same movie. If i would see it happen i'd probably have a "fangasm" lol.
@Xehanort4 that was my idea of skyfall , finnes as blofeld and bardem as jaws but alas it aint goanna happen still i get the feeling blofeld will be in the film and SPECTRE will be an organization of mainly british politicians and spies in its early stages considering that most main charachters work for the british govt. and finnes has been cast as an mi6 agent
@TheDrYes Fiennes is cast to play an Mi6 agent? Now that i didn't know. It would make the story interesting though as having Blofeld be a former agent working with Bond or possibly even be his friend would add considerable depth to the character.
The best villain ever! he inspired Dr. Claw, Giovanni from Pokemon, Dr. Evil from Austin Powers series, Commander Red of the Red Ribbon Army from Dragon Ball and much more. The best performance of the character is Pleasence, of corse; very short performance, but historical. Great video, but is missing the Thunderball, From Russia with love and for your eyes only segments, with the non-face Blofeld (Anthony Dawson and Eric Pohlman performances)
In my personal opinion Donald will always be my favourite Blofeld. Telly is more intimidating and great, but I saw Donald in part first and just love what an evil little man he is. Charles is amusing, but could have been a lot better. Seen him in "Devil Rides Out"? There he was evil.
Not just the best blofeld but the best Spectre too, from Thunderball onwards apart from the exception of OHMSS. Spectre went from being the behind the scenes manipulative group to a world dominating one and they really messed up the writing for them imo. DAF should've been better and i'd of put George Lazenby in it to star as the hurt Bond that kills Blofeld in the salt mine as opposed to the silly Oil Rig ending!
Charles Gray was in no way the best Blofeld, but he was surely entertaining, in a comic book villain kind of way. Telly is my favorite, a very physical threat.
In all honesty, Charles Grey was the gayest of all Blofelds. not trying to be ignorant, but it was actually the writers intention to make Blofeld alittle fussier and flamboyantly homosexual lol He DID have two gay men as his main henchmen AND he cross dressed in DAF. Pleasence is the classic Blofeld, Savalas is the mot badass!
Donald Pleasence was the best!! Why did they never bring him back in the other films???.....I never liked the idea of changing the actor with every film!
Why couldn't they have just said to Donald Pleasence "Ok, can you be a bit more charming and action-savvy in this one?" for OHMSS. Im sure he wouldve done it, he was such a fantastic actor!
Yes, there might be a possiblity with the reboot of Casino Royale (Mr White's terrorist organisation), although I don't know if EON owns the rights to SPECTRE and Blofeld yet again.
Blofeld rules, you should use his faceless appearances in From Russia With Love and Thunderball and Max Von Sydow in Never Say Never Again if you do another one
i wish eric pohlman had played blofeld or at least done his voice as a voiceover but all other actors were great (even gray)

They need to bring Blofeld back, preferably with Cristoph Waltz playing the role.

OK, What is up at 1:35? Charles Gray as Blofeld . . . in drag? Seriously, I've got to know what that's about. What is that from? I love Charles Gray!

This is a very strong, haunting theme, it works pefectly for Blofeld... great work.

If they decide to bring blofeld back within the next couple of years (although unlikely) I wonder who'd be able to play him?
AtWorldsEnd2K7 4 years ago
I think they will have him Cameo in 007. SPECTRE will probably be in 007.
SSJ2VEGEROTRULES 4 years ago
Only one man now could be Blofeld, Sir Anthony Hopkins. Only he has the right villian chops for it.

My favourite actor who played Blofeld is Donald Pleasence))) His Blofeld is great villain, of course)
Nastyna2006 4 years ago
True, I just liked Telly Savalas because he was more of the Blofeld who would go out and kill Bond with his guards...
ThunderEffect 4 years ago 2
In my opinion the top three Blofeld's
1. Telly Savalas
2. Charles Gray
3. Donald Pleasence
ThunderEffect 4 years ago
Omg are they all the same Blofelds?I mean...I saw like 3 diffirent ones!
sydneyyang2oo7 4 years ago
Of course Blofeld is always changing his appearance for getting away easier.
Giel1987 4 years ago
Good old Ernst.. He was the best Bond Villain
ThunderEffect 4 years ago
They should reintroduce blofeld to the franchise, maybe even explore his early roots like they seem to be doing with bond at the moment
AtWorldsEnd2K7 4 years ago
Sounds good, they probably should.. I mostly think they should bring back SPECTRE.

I believe there is much speculation about the title, but nothing confirmed.
Giel1987 4 years ago
Hmm, I have heard something about it being called; "Quantum of Solace."
ThunderEffect 4 years ago
yeah that's the new movie. It may have something to do with SPECTRE; but i don't think blofeld will be in it
