By the way, do you like your company paid health care, vacation and sick days? Ever pick up a couple of unemployment checks between jobs? You have the US labor movement to thank.
@mandostyle59 Lol, no we have ourselves to thank. It's one taxpayer paying for another. The labor movement has cost American workers millions of jobs by forcing them to be non-competitive against foreign labor.
During the election Obama took in $747 million dollars and McCain $351 million while $100s of millions were donated to Obama over the internet that could not be tracked but much of that money came from foreigners, then Obama flipped flop on public campaign financing despite McCain calling for it. Now Obama tells lies about the Supreme Court because now all the groups he has been demonizing can fight back. This admin is the most ill prepared, juvenile, propagandist, lying government ever seen.
@mandostyle59 perpetuated by Clinton and his do nothing attitude. Dems holding up the bush admin and their childish attitudes. 8 months after bush was elected, he still didn't have everyone in place, thanks to the dems holding him up......
i regreted voting this tout into office wow i missed president g w. bush at least he's social and civilized and kept us safe from all these diapers wearing muslim terrorist.
Then i assume you understand that the court essentially blocked a ban on corporate political spending.
The court could have taken a stand against special interests and overreaching corporatism, instead they ruled that corruption and bribery in the form of campaign contributions are now constitutional.
The high courts ruling in a First Amendment case, Citizens United vs. Federal Elections Commission (FEC), lifted restrictions for companies, unions, and other organizations to make independent expenditures in political campaigns.
The court decision, however does not allow unlimited contributions directly to a campaign or in coordination with a campaign. Nor did the ruling lift existing law that blocks foreign contributions to political campaigns.
I guess you are also against the influence Unions have on elections and all the $millions$ they pour into a candidate or campaign. I like how the SEIU threatened the Obama administration publicly. They gave to get him elected and now they want something back; like a big hand in Universal Healthcare=larger Union member pool=more money=more political influence. You must also be against the tax dollars (100's of millions and billions) promised to certain members of Congress for health care votes.
The unions are a concern. Corporations are a bigger one. 70% of all US profits go to the top 500 corps, 1% of all US companies. I love how US does business. But Democracy is not a for-profit venture. Its priorities are the greater good of its people. Ex: In US you have a right to publicly call Obama a liar. If Obama tries to jail you for it, defend your rights in courts we pay for. Send your boss a public e-mail calling him a liar. Then you can find out how well Medicare works for yourself.
@mandostyle59 There is no such thing as a "greater good of the people" in democracy because ultimately the "greater good" is to be decided by a what a minority group decides it is.
A job is a contract, when one party of the contract no longer feels it should exist, it is disbanded. That's completely different from the monopoly of violent force that the government has by its very nature. Only violent force is illegitimate. You have right to your speech but you don't have a right to a job.
The idea of a free country is to have a small government. Obama's speech does nothing but influence bigger government, which he thinks is better. But as government gets bigger, the more regulations we have, the more taxes we pay, and the less freedom we get.
This was true in many countries, like UK, which boasts a huge government over its people. Our republic is under attack by bigger government, which is in favor of corporate elites like bankers, oilers, etc.
Special interest, lobbyists, corporations & most recently Unions have always had a vested interest in government. The flood gates can't open much wider. This is a non-issue.
Actually Obama was lied about the part that it will allow funding from foreign entities. That's the part Alito was saying "not true" about. So much for Obama knowing the Constitution.

In May 2009, Petrobras enters into negotiations with China for a $10 billion loan for off shore oil drilling.
In August 15, George Soros buys $811 million in stock of Petrobras, a 22% stake.
On August 18, 2009, the Obama Administration approved a $2 billion dollar loan to Petrobras S.A. for the purpose of off shore drilling.
Nov 4, 2009, China and Petrobras finalize $10 billion deal started in May.
Guess who gets the oil? China

Free speech is free speech even if you do not like the source. Per the Constitution, free speech cannot be abridged.
