When kryptonite was introduced to Superman by Lex Luthor in the first Christopher Reeve movie, he fell to his knees. George Reeves is warned about it, says he doesn't care, fails to knock down a steel door and then says to Jimmy: "Did you say Kryptonite?" Go figure.

In this episode, Superman, at first, was close enough to the Kryptonite that it took away his powers;it was when Jimmy brought the Kryptonite closer to Superman that it was close enough to kill him.

I love it when Jimmy Olsen tells Superman about the mysterious metal that the villians have called Kryptonite. Superman says to Jimmy, "I don't care what they call it!";when his punch has no effect on the door, Superman says to Jimmy, "Did you say 'Kryptonite'?

Another thing is that kryptonite is supposed to make Superman weak, and if exposed long enough, kill him. The only problem George Reeves has is that he can't punch open the door? I wonder if any of the script writers for this episode read any of the Superman comics.
