BMW E38, E39 Ultrasonic PDC Sensor Replacement

Hi Ryan, I had my front bumper replaced and I couldn't get another one in time with front sensors. Can this cause a problem if no front sensors are fitted but all the wires are still connected, just no sensors.

@fredz786 I think the front ones (I only have rear ones) are actuated by the PDC button on the dash, so as long as you don't press it, it'll be fine. If you do, it'll probably just give you a long beep to let you know there is a problem(s).

Ryan--looks like you also have some dead pixels also. Have you tried getting a repair kit for it? I have an 2001 E39 with a couple of bad PDC sensors--two front left according to the dealership. I'll have to use your test to check them out.

@ltcolglennr I would love to fix those pixels, but I have take the entire dash pod out!! What a pain in the ass. Best of lucking fixing your PDC sensors!

oh European cars ... how ridiculous is 300 dollars for a piece of plastic with some chips inside. Honestly, probably $5 worth of parts at the most.
