  • @khayelitshaissafe Your dad's a woman!

  • Love this song... Some songs grow on you and you eventually like and then love them, but other songs like this one, grab and catch you immediately and you want to keep comin' back for more. As a musician, if the song motivates me to want to play my guitar and/or learn the song to play along with it, then it fits that higher level. Well done on all levels! :)

  • Does anyone know what kind of pendant he's wearing?

  • @bushkini Ha ha! I was wondering that myself! At first I thought it was a star of David, but when I expanded the box, it obviously was not. Looks like a masonic symbol perhaps.

  • @bushkini I was trying to figure that out myself. Masonic perhaps? Not sure.

  • TG Sheppard also did a great version of the song Fooled Around & Fell In Love around the same time.

  • I wonder if Mickey Thomas and Kevin Cronin of REO Speedwagon are related. They have the same personality and talk alike!!

  • Get a dictionary rjmprod, or shut the fuck up!!!

  • Who was the idiot that disliked this?

  • @MrScottJJohnson Oops...clicked the wrong button :-(

  • @BlackThoughtChannel lol that's alright if you were aiming for the "like" button.

  • This dude was one of the greatest frontmen of all time. One of the premier sounds of the 1980's.

  • i love mickey thomas! totally grew up on his voice......

  • jayfay, I remember that video and this guy strutting around belting out that song with his beautiful voice. I'd love to see it again.

  • Just wanted to get my 2 cents in here, First the song itself is perfict, the melody is perfict, the arrangement is also perfict for the song. Mickey's voice is perfict for this song. The pedal steel is also perfict. Last but not least, one of the, if not the best kick ass, melodic guitar solos ever done in my humble opinon! This band will forever be imortial because of it.

  • @rjmprod It's not a pedal steel.

It's harmonics played on a regular guitar with a volume pedal, played by Johnny V.

  • they made a video for this song in the 70s im not sure if it was a performance on a tv show or just concert footage but i saw a clip of it on tv but nobody has put it up on youtube.

  • Seems like such a nice guy. Smart, interesting, articulate....Fooled Around and Fell in Love is one of my all time fav songs.

  • wow. Starship was my 1st favorite rock band while growing up in the 80's (before my love of hair bands, LOL). I finally got to see them (well, Mickey) in concert a few years back. Great interview. I'd always thought he was from San Francisco.

  • Thanks for the additional info, logjammers. Mickey's got a one-in-a-million voice if ever there was one.

  • Mickey should have gotten half the profits from the "Struttin' My Stuff" LP. No guest vocal performance ever did more to sell someone else's album. Most fans who bought it for "Fooled Around and Fell In Love" were shocked when they heard Elvin Bishop's voice on the other tracks.

  • it wasn't a guest" vocal performance....he was a member of Elvins band. "Spend Some Time" is a similar Mickey gem on Hometown Boy Makes Good.

  • can´t find it on youtube! I´ve been looking for good vocal songs with mickey pre-starship.

  • the funny thing is he made a pretty lame solo album called "As Long As You Love Me" just prior to his joining the Starship and the irony is he did a cover of "Somebody To Love" on that album....did he know?????

  • Great Stuff.

  • classic...
