This is ALMOST like part of the movie. Remember when 5 meets 9 in the Short Film? The lightbulb thing happens in both but with 2 in movie. Then the monster comes. 9 hides in the can thingy. Then the monster tries to get 9 but something from behind distracts it. Etc. etc., you guys get the point.

TO THOSE WHO DON'T KNOW:

This was Shane Acker's original short film he made in college and submitted to film festivals. Upon viewing this short at a film festival, Tim Burton and Timur Blahblahblah, contacted him and said they wanted to produce a full length feature of the short and have him direct. The full length movie, "9" is the product of all this.

I love the full length film, btw, it's great.

I was so confused up until recently as I thought this was some sort of 10 minute trailer, but this short film is being adapted into a feature-length film to be release on September 9th, 2009 (9/9/09). I'm really excited, this short is really neat and the movie looks great as well.

It's kind of one of those movies where you have to see it to understand it.

The plot reads: 9 takes place in a world parallel to our own, in which the very legacy of humanity is threatened. The machines that a scientist has created rebelled and began to manufacture an army to wipe out humanity. A group of sapient rag dolls, are living a post-apocalyptic existence find one of their own, 9, who displays leadership qualities that may help them to survive.

its apocalypse. a scientist made these robot things to combat the robots that caused that the apocalypse. there are 9 of them, and they have numbers 1-9. they all get back to each other through the locators (dont know why they got separated: and decide to go and discover the source of the machines and find the human survivors.

Shane Acker said it put the skin on itself to make itself more human because that's all it truely wants to be, it doesn't actually know how else to be considered human, so it does what it thinks it should do as an animal.
