On flight in a Neptune, we were NE of Darwin, tropical storms all around.

I was by myself in the front, clear perspex nose between me and sky. I had the 'cans' (earphones) on, I fell asleep.

I awoke to music from Swan Lake in my ears, I looked out, saw three storm formations around us, our Pilot was 'threading the needle', flying between them.

I thought, "If this is 'dead', I'm happy!.

Don't the USAF use the F22 Raptor now? Now that's a advanced war plane. The Euro Fighter is currently being tested for use in the Royal Air Force and Fleet Air Arm respectively.

Well .. the good old F-14 hung around the military-aviation scene for a long, long time ... that's got to say something good about its class & capabilities. It sure was a mighty good dogfighter aircraft. And this movie was awesome for its day. P-O-W-E-R probably sums it up. The girls say S-E-X instead, I'm told. The particular set-piece scene in the movie for which this particular song was chosen as the accompanyment, has got to be one of the best combo's ever in the history of cinema.

Not true about the Tomcat; it was in a class of it's own. At it's retirement, it was still the fastest jet in service & could've have easily risked ripping itself apart by pushing Mach 3 had it not been governed. If the DOD decided to redesigned the F-14, like they did the F-18 (super hornet), by giving them modern avionics, room for future upgrading, & easier maintenance capability, then no one would even think twice about going up against one.

most of the stuff in the movie is actually fake, ive seen the special edition. The cockpit scense were really the nose of an F-14 with a screen in the back and the stars in the pilot seat. They went into this movie with no knowledge of what the planes could do or what the people could do with the planes. There was no real fly by by the tower they just flew low and made it look real.

Of course the cockpit shots were fake! Duh! And third, It's a movie... Most movies are like that. Like Stealth... It was all CGI. Mn you are really stupid.
