Hello. I did the setup, but I have never entered a password for Mysql. What am I supposed, to do when it prompts for a password? I just click through, but the window closes. Is there a default password? Thanks

so ummm, it keeps telling me that i have syntax errors on the second and third line that i type in. i have a book for mysql as well and all the instructions they give me give me simmilar syntax errors. any ideas? currently using 5.1.53

hi there i did what as you are doing. it did change the password and root but now i mget a message when i open phpmy admin

Mysql said

# 1045-Access denied for user 'root'@localhost' cusing password: no)

AND onther one

phpMy admin tried to coonect to the MYsql server, and ther server rejected the connection. you shoud dcheck the host, username and password in our configuration and make sure that they correspond to the infrormatin given by the administrator of the mysql server.
